Chapter 73: Mother's Day Memories
Dick's POV
"Fericit Ziua Mamei. Mi-e dor, mamă. Eu te iubesc. Îmi pare rău timpul nostru împreună a fost tăiat scurt. Am facut un fel de doresc ai putea întâlni frații mei mici și Bruce. Te-ai le iubesc. Au avut grijă foarte bine de mine. Dar, ești mama mea și eu te voi iubi mereu. (Happy Mother's Day. I miss you, Mom. I love you. I'm sorry our time together was cut short. I kind of wish you could meet my little brothers and Bruce. You'd love them. They've taken really good care of me. But, you are my mother and I will always love you.)" I whispered as I placed a bouquet on her grave.
Jason's POV
"Well, it's Mother's Day. That's why I'm here. Guess I just wanted to say thanks for leaving me alone. Thanks for becoming an addict. Thanks for letting bad people hurt me and doing nothing to stop them, even though you promised to protect me. Thanks for never standing up to Dad. Thanks for letting him hurt you and me every night he came home drunk. Thanks for letting me grow up too fast, Mom. Thanks for letting me take care of you when you should have been taking care of me... But, I loved you anyway. You were my mother and I still miss you." I said as I placed the flowers on her grave.
Tim's POV
"You hurt me, Mother. You hurt me a lot. I tried so hard to be perfect for you and Father, but I failed. You never loved me. You never wanted me… I tried so hard to make you love me. I was so quiet and I tried to be good and do everything you said, but it wasn't good enough. I was never enough… But, I still loved you and Father even when you hurt me." I whispered as I laid the flowers on her tombstone.
Damian's POV
"Mother, it's me Damian. I just wanted to tell you Happy Mother's Day… it is custom to call your mother on this day… Please let me know if you have received this voicemail." I spoke into the phone as a tear rolled down my cheek.
Why doesn't she want me?
Bruce's POV
"Happy Mother's Day, Mom… The boys are doing great. I know you'd love them if you were still here… I'm sorry I couldn't save you." I whispered before laying the bouquet of white roses on her grave.

Damian's POV
"Damian, dear are you alright?"
I looked up to see Leslie Tompkins smiling over me. Father, Grayson, Todd, and Drake had already gone to the cemetery to pay respects to their mothers. Pennyworth was in England to be with his mother and Father invited Leslie over to babysit me, even though I do not require a babysitter.
Burying my face against Titus' neck I shook my head. I was currently surrounded by my cats, Franklin, Titus, Licorice, and my new Easter bunny, Thumper. My animals always comfort me.
"You can tell me sweetie. It's alright." She softly answered.
"My… my mother won't talk to me." I whispered as I felt her hand on my shoulder. "I even made her this card." I sniffled, holding out the beautiful drawing of a cat on a folded piece of paper. "It was an assignment for my class."
"The drawing is beautiful sweetie." She replied. "I'm sure your mother would love it."
"No she wouldn't. She hates me!" I exclaimed before breaking down into tears.
"I'm so sorry, sweetie. I'm sure she has a good reason for-"
"No she doesn't! She hates me! That's why she left me here! She didn't want me!"
"Damian, I don't think Talia hates you or doesn't want you. It's probably for the best that she left you here. Maybe she wanted you to have a better childhood with your father."
"Then why won't she ever answer my calls or visit?"
"Maybe she just can't."
"You're wrong. She doesn't love me." I whispered.
"Well, I love you, dear. Your father loves you. Your brothers love you. Alfred loves you. We all do." She added, rubbing my back.
"Leslie?"
"Yes dear?"
"Here." I said as I handed over my Mother's Day card. "I want you to have it."
Instantly, the corners of her lips transformed into a warm smile.
You know, you remind me so much of Bruce when he was your age."
"I do?" I questioned.
"Of course you do. You're just like him. Strong, brave, smart, handsome-"
"I am?" I interrupted her.
"You are… all though, you're both stubborn as mules." She added. "But, Bruce used to give me a handmade card every single year."
"Really?" I asked as Father and my brothers entered the room.
"Happy Mother's Day, Leslie." Father whispered as he kissed her cheek and handed her a bouquet of roses.
"Thank you Bruce." She replied, smiling at him as Grayson, Todd, and Drake came forward.
"Happy Mother's Day!" They exclaimed, hugging her.
"Thank you, boys… And for my Mother's Day gift, I'd like for everyone not to end up in my clinic due to some injury you're bound to receive from patrol tonight."
