"I should get back to my cabin…" she muttered against his hair hours later as he rested his head in the crook of her neck her left side facing the wall so he wasn't lying on her bad side

"Stay?" he asked hopeful moving his head to look up at her as he met with a pair of green eyes

"We could both get into trouble for what we just did" she smiled down at him as she ran her good hand along the back of his neck

"I don't care" he answered resting his head back down she moved her hand and began running it through his hair

"Yes you do" she grinned as he placed a kiss against her neck

"Just a little longer then" he wrapped his arm tighter around her waist

"Just a little" she replied closing her eyes as she drifted off to sleep.

Making her way down from the bridge just before 0200 she yawned widely as she stopped in her tracks to see Kate exiting Mike's cabin with her boots in her hands

"The walk of shame hey?" she grinned leaning against the stairs

"Nikki… I was just…" Kate answered moving towards her

"It's fine Kate, we all know how much the Boss needed assuring you were alive" she smiled wrapping her arm behind Kate's back as they walked back to their cabin

"When Matt had me in that hold, I… I didn't think I'd ever see him again Nik" Kate said sadly nesting into Nikki slightly

"The Boss never gave up hope, even bent a few rules just to make sure you came home safely" Nikki replied as they entered their cabin Kate placed her boots next to her rack

"Nikki I…"

"You love him?" she asked stopping in front of Kate who nodded slowly

"Very much"

"Then your secrets safe with me, and I can talk for everyone on this ship when I say that" she smiled as Kate moved to lie in her rack Nikki pulled off her own boots

"Nik?" Kate asked as the room filled with darkness

"Yeah?"

"Can we leave the light on?" she replied nervously

"Of course" Nikki said reaching for the small switch of the lamp she moved to climb the ladder to her bunk

"Thank you" Kate sniffled as Nikki looked down at her

"Scooch over" she hit the side of her hip

"Why?" Kate said confused doing as she told she watched Nikki lift the blanket slightly as she hopped in next to her lifting her arm up Kate knew what she was getting at she rolled onto her side and placed her head against Nikki's shoulder an arm wrapped around her back she broke down in tears

"You're safe Kate" Nikki whispered as she rubbed Kate's back in comfort she could hear Kate's breathing even out she reached across and flicked off the light as she settled herself into Kate's rack for some hopes of getting sleep considering her best friend seemed to be a snorer.

It was just after 0630 when Nikki felt something heavy pushing against her hip

"Kate! What the hell are you doing?" she grinned at seeing Kate trying to manoeuvre out of the rack with one hand

"Sorry Nik, but if I don't move now you'll end up with baby puke all over you" Kate replied as Nikki tried to scooch out of the way she fell off the rack Kate quickly took her opportunity and ran into the bathroom to empty the contents of her stomach.

"Everything alright in here?" Mike asked poking his head into their cabin as he heard a thud

"Yeah" Nikki laughed moving to pull herself up from the floor

"Here" Mike replied holding a hand out as he pulled her up

"Thanks Boss" she brushed a hand through her hair

"Why were you on the floor?"

"Oh Kate was a little restless so I slept on her rack with her I forgot how small they were and tried to move so she could…" she paused as they heard Kate dry retching

"Right, why don't you go get yourself a brew and I'll see to the X" he smiled

"Sure… I won't be long" she nodded slipping her feet into a pair of slippers as she exited out of her cabin she took a look back as she watched Mike enter into the bathroom Kate protested about him seeing her like this.

"I thought your watch wasn't until 1100?" Swain said confused as Nikki entered the Galley half asleep and in a pair of fluffy slippers

"Kate is currently occupied in the bathroom and I was pushed out of my rack" she paused

"Well Kate's rack" she shrugged pouring herself a cup of coffee

"Right?" Swaine replied unsure

"We had a bit of an incident and I didn't want her to sleep alone"

"Well I thought she was in with the Boss" he grinned over his mug

"You saw that too!" she laughed as Swain wiggled his eyebrows.

"She came out as I was heading to bed, she was rather emotional about the whole Matt thing so I laid in her rack with her she couldn't even sleep without the lamp…" she said sadly

"All of the healing process unfortunately its going to take some time, and her shoulder well that can take up to six weeks to heal once she'd had the op" he sighed as Nikki shook her head

"We should have been informed about Matt, because of that scumbag the X she's hurting…"

"She's Pregnant too Nav and I mean maybe it's the one thing that'll pull her out of her head and stop her from thinking about what he did to her?" he said hopeful as they heard groaning and footsteps walking down the corridor

"I hate this!" Kate said angrily as Mike had an arm wrapped around her waist steading her

"Everything alright?" Swain asked looking through the window as he grinned slightly

"Fine!" Kate grumbled

"Someone get off the wrong side of the bed this morning?" Nikki smirked as Kate shot her a 'really' look

"Morning sickness" Mike said trying to hide his smile

"Yes which I must point out is his fault" she elbowed Mike playfully in the gut as he rolled his eyes

"I'll get you some tablets" Swain laughed as he placed his mug down and exited the galley

"Well… If you're finished I might head back to bed" Nikki replied

"Sorry Nik I know you didn't really get much sleep" Kate said embarrassed

"Hey, it's perfectly fine anything I could do to help" she smiled finishing off her brew as she placed her mug in the sink

"Breakfast?" Mike asked looking down at Kate

"Toa…"

"Toast with vegemite?" he grinned knowing what she was going to say

"Thank you" she smiled moving into the wardroom where Swain was waiting with some tablets as Mike moved into the Galley and Nikki headed back to their cabin.

"So how's the shoulder this morning?" Swain asked as Kate sat down

"Painful" she smiled slightly as he placed some tablets down in front of her

"Well you'll be happy to know we're back in port at 0800 so until then…"

"Keep it elevated and strain free" she interrupted him

"Very funny" he grinned

"I thought so" Kate shrugged as he placed a glass of water in front of her

"Alright so I'll give you some of these two for your shoulder hopefully it'll calm the pain a little, but I mean maybe next time don't do any strenuous activates" he said trying to hold back a laugh

"Seriously does everyone know?" she said embarrassed as she took the tablets he gave her

"Well… Nav and I were on watch and the walls aren't exactly thick"

"Oh my god…" Kate answered covering her bright red face

"You were saying a lot of that…"

"Okay! Can we not please" she interrupted him as Mike entered with a plate of toast and a mug

"Did I miss something?" he asked confused placing the plate down as Swain looked between the two of them trying to hide his smile

"Well…"

"I think I'm going to be sick" Kate whispered resting her forehead against the table

"Did you give her some tablets for the nausea?" Mike asked looking at Swain who was packing the tablets away

"Yes Sir, although I don't think that is related to why she's feeling sick right now" he smiled as Kate groaned

"Ah… Did I miss something?" Mike repeated as he placed the mug down on the table

"I'll let Kate explain" Swain grinned moving towards the door

"Yes thank you for the Swaino" Kate muttered as he let out a loud laugh walking down the hallway.

"Do I want to know?" he asked sitting next to her as she mumbled in response he placed a hand on her back as she lifted her head and reached for a piece of the toast

"Next time something ends up being too…" she paused taking a bite of her food

"Too?" he asked reaching for his mug

"Swain and Nikki heard us last night" she blurted out

"Heard us?" he said confused as she turned to look at him his eyes widened

"Oh!"

"Yeah"

"Oh that's… This is…" he answered moving to stand as he placed his mug back down

"They were on watch" she replied placing her piece of toast back down

"And did they…" he cleared his throat

"What exactly did they hear?"

"I don't know I didn't ask" she shrugged

"Right"

"I wasn't going to ask Swain exactly what he heard him hearing me say 'Oh my god' was enough to make me never want to say those words again" she cringed

"Well I mean…" he grinned slightly

"That's enough from you Mister" she smirked throwing a piece of toast at him as she moved to stand he caught it

"Now you know why I go for the neck" he smiled placing the piece of toast back on the table wiping his hands on his pants

"The neck?" she grinned as he grabbed her shirt and pulled her close

"Well if you go for the neck" he answered pushing her hair to one side as he moved down

"You can hide the sounds and moans only meant for the woman you're making love to you" he grinned against her neck as she placed her arms around his waist she moved her head back to look at him

"And where's the fun in that? I thought hearing me moan turned you on" she smirked as he hovered his lips in front of hers

"Oh it does"

"Hmm" she grinned against his lips as they met hers in a passionate kiss both forgetting the door was still open.

"Should we interrupt before it goes further?" Swain grinned as he stood next to Nikki near the galley as they watched Mike pull away from the kiss and wrapping his arms around Kate in a warm hug

"I think they both need it" Nikki replied crossing her arms

"Yeah, I thought you were heading back to bed?" he said confused

"I was but now I'm awake I don't see the point if we're in port soon" she shrugged

"Sure…" he nodded looking back at Mike and Kate who had now pulled apart Kate leant against the table with a big smile as Mike moved to close the door

"You sure we shouldn't break it up?" Nikki grinned

"They'll be fine" Swain smiled as they heard Kate laughing along with Mike

"I know there two consenting adults but there also our superior officers" Nikki replied nervously

"And I'm sure that whatever there doing in there is PG" Swain said as they slowly moved towards the door and listened in leaning against the door

'You should go, I'm pretty sure we have an audience' Kate grinned leaning against the table with Mike next to her

'Well I'll need my shirt back' he laughed as he pointed to the shadows on the other side of the door

'Mm but you look so good without it'

'Really? You look pretty good without yours too' Mike winked as the door flung open Kate and Mike leant against the table with big grins on their faces

"Very funny you two!" Swain said shaking his head

"You are too easy!" Kate laughed as she high-fived Mike with her good hand before he moved past them to attend to the bridge

"Seriously?" Nikki rolled her eyes as she stole some of Kate's toast

"Hey!"

"After what you just pulled on us it's only fair" she smirked halving it as she passed some to Swain before they turned and walked off.
