In honor of 75 years of Batman being amazing (Even if the New 52's doing an amazing job of screwing it up! Apparently, Nightwing is dead or something and Dick's a secret agent? What the Hell is wrong with these people?)
Chapter 91: Surprise
Bruce's POV
I yawned as I climbed into my bed. It's been a long night. I glanced at the clock and saw 11:59. I laid down and closed my eyes.
Before I could fall asleep, my door was quickly thrown open and an acrobat landed on top of me. I groaned as Dick's weight collided with me.
"Richard. Get. Off. Me." I growled as he laughed and completely ignored me. "Dick, you're too old to be sleeping with me. Go get in the bed with one of your brothers."
"Come on, Bruce. You know that I'll always be your favorite baby boy. And you never had a problem with me sleeping with you when I was seven." He cheerily replied as I rolled my eyes.
"You were seven. You're a grown man now." I murmured before closing my eyes again.
Why me? I shifted my weight and he landed on the mattress gracefully beside me. I nearly pushed him off the bed as he started poking my arm.
"Bruce. Dad. Bruce. Dad. Bruce. Da-"
"What!"
"Do you wanna watch a movie together?"
"No! I want you to get out of my room!"
"No need to be rude." He grumbled.
"Go. Back. To. Your. Own. Room." I hissed as he laughed.
"Your Batman voice has never worked on me. It's not going to work on me now. It might create fear into the criminals, but not me. I know how much of a teddy bear you are." he smirked.
"Please, go away?"
"But, I love you… Daddy." He whispered as I cringed at the word.
"What?" I huffed as I could see a triumphant smile forming at his lips.
"I want to spend the day with you."
"Fine… Now leave."
"Alright, I'll let you sleep in a little." He sadly replied.
"Thank you." I replied as he laid down beside me.
"You're not leaving, are you?"
"You can't be trusted not to escape."

"Wake up! Bruce! You have to wake up!"
Opening my eyes, I glared at Dick as he shook my arm.
"It's six in the morning." He replied as I started to reconsider my no killing rule. "Go get dressed. We have a big day ahead of us."

"Where are you taking me?" I asked as I glanced at Dick.
"On a father and son magical journey throughout Gotham."
I groaned as I leaned back in my seat. I could see him practically bouncing with excitement as he drove us towards only God knows where.
I looked out the window and immediately recognized some of my surroundings.
"Isn't this the way to the stable?" I asked as he nodded.
He smiled before replying, "A trail ride is a great way to start our morning… Besides, we haven't ridden together in forever."
"Lucky me."

I looked around at the nature around me. I'd forgotten how beautiful it is out here.
"Having fun?" Dick asked as he pulled his horse alongside of mine.
I gave a slight nod as he frowned.
"I was hoping for a little more enthusiasm, but I'll take what I can get… How about a race?"
"How about no?"
"Please Daddy?"
That damn word!
"Fine." I grumbled as he kicked his horse and urged Tornado to go faster as I urged Knight to go after them.
"Catch us if you can old man!" he yelled.
"I'm not old!" I yelled back, pulling my horse up beside his.

"Where are we going now?" I asked as we exited the stables.
"We're going to see a movie of course."
"Please tell me that it's not a Disney movie."
"Relax… It's DreamWorks!"
"Lucky me."
It just had to be How To Train Your Dragon 2. After consoling Dick through part of the movie as he tears filled his eyes.
Dick was still crying over that one part as we left the theater. I rolled my eyes as I patted his shoulder.
"Why? Why did he have to die?" Dick sobbed.
"It was in the script." I muttered. "I don't know, Dickie. We all have to die one day."
He nodded as he checked his phone.
"We're gonna get ice-cream now." He stated.

As we finished our ice-cream, Dick checked his phone and smiled.
"I have a feeling you've been up to something this entire time." I said while raising an eyebrow.
"Who me?" he asked sweetly.
"Dick, I know you better than anyone."
He raised an eyebrow at me before replying, "If only you really knew."
"What's that supposed to mean?"
"You'll see. Come on. We're gonna be late."
Late?

Dick was smiling mischievously as we pulled into the garage. I have a bad feeling about this. Entering the manor, I found the room to be in darkness. What? Dick flipped the light switch as Alfred, my boys, The Titans, Young Justice, and the entire Justice League leapt out and yelled, "Surprise!"
"Why are you people here?" I growled as Clark rolled his eyes.
He hugged me as I glared at him. Where's my Kryptonite?
"Come on, Bruce. You really didn't think we'd forget your birthday, did you?" he responded as I groaned.
My birthday. I completely forgot it was my birthday.
"Dick arranged the surprise party for you and he got you out of the house so we could set up." Tim stated as he shoved a present in my arms.
"Father! I drew you a card! Look at it first! It's better than Drake's pathetic attempt at a gift!" Damian yelled as he shoved a handmade card into my hand.
Jason shrugged as he said, "I didn't kill anyone today... You're welcome."
"And my present was spending the entire day together!" Dick sang as he hugged me from behind.
"Happy Birthday, Master Bruce!" Alfred announced as he carried a cake out.
Oh look, it has my age on it.
"Damn, you're old!" Hal announced as I glared at him.
I am not old! The numbers are just backwards!
