Chapter 3: Announcement
Sakura had almost dropped the plates she was carrying towards the dinning table, when Faguko Uchiha announced placed the plate on the dinning table and realized Naruto was watching her. She looked away from him and stood up straight, walking back to her spot against the wall, she placed her hands together and waited next to the other maids for her next command.
Sasuke was just sitting down as if nothing had happened. While Karin clapped loudly like a seal, placing her hand around Sasuke's arm.
"I'm sure this marriage will bring all of us good fortune." Lord Fugaku said looking across the table at Minato, raising his glass.
"Well I'm sure my beautiful niece will live a wonderful life with the man she loves." Minato said looking at his wife Kushina with a warm smile on his face. Karin had a huge grin form ear to ear while Sasuke was blank as always.
"Well all I can say is that I'm extremely excited about the marriage. My Sasuke-Kun and I are thankful for all of the blessings we're receiving." Karin said watching Sasuke who seemed to be in a starring contest with his food.
Sakura sighted thank god I don't come from a wealthy family, she thought as everyone and laughter going around. Naruto on the other hand just sipped from his glass eyeing Sasuke.
Lord Fugaku, with a proud smirk lifted his glass followed by Lady Mikoto who smiled softly. "Sasuke.. anything you want to say." Lord Fugaku said, it was more of a command then question.
Sasuke was picking at whatever was on his plate now with his chop sticks and made a face looking up. "What is this?" He asked raising an eyebrow. "Sasuke?" Lady Mikoto asked Confused . Lord Faguko's smile disappeared and a deadly glare began to form on his face. "What the hell is this?" He asked a little louder. The maid who had brought his plate suddenly realized she had forgotten to announce the plate's name. She had been to busy hearing the gossip she had forgotten.
She nervously walked towards Sasuke. "I'm sorry young master...I didn't mean to not announce the name.. " She didn't finish because he glared at her and she quickly shivered in fright looking down. "My fiance asked you a question." Karin said glaring at the maid. "It's ...it's um... it's..." She was nervously trying to remember the plate, her face blushing red with embarrassment. "I... I.." "When my fiance asks you a question you are supposed to answer him." Karin growled.
"Karin." Lady Kushina said eyeing her niece. "Fine." Karin said "Your fired." "Karin!" Lady Kushina said anger in her voice. The maid was confused as tears fell down her cheeks. "I'm the Soon to be Lady of this house aunt, they have to get used to following my orders." "Karin you are in no position to fire anyone in this household." "Yes she is." Lord Fugaku said crossing his arms.
"Karin is Sasuke's fiance, she has all the authority in this household, and everybody should start getting used to it. " Karin smiled brightly nodding and waving the maid off with her hand.
Said maid was frozen in her spot tears falling down her cheeks. She was to frightened to move, "GO!" Karin said louder, The maid suddenly sprinted out the dinning hall. Sakura wanted to run after her but stood her ground when she caught lady Mikoto glance, telling her to stand her ground. Sakura looked down wanting to leave. But all she heard was Lord Fugaku announce that everyone should begin to eat.
She was glad when dinner was over and the Uchihas and Uzumakis had gotten up heading somewhere else to continue the conversation. She took off her stupid apron placing it on the counter inside the kitchen. "Sakura please..." "Mom what was that? It was stupid and uncalled for. That stupid bit..." "Sakura!" Her mother said stoping her from what she was going to say.
She hated when one of the maids got fired for no reason. Especially when it was over a stupid unnamed plate. "Just help with the cleaning Sakura darling , so we can all go home." Sakura headed towards the dinning room and began to clean up the table with the other maids.

Naruto walked behind Sasuke and Karin hands in his pockets, both his parents and Sasuke's parents walked ahead talking and laughing. "We can have the engagment dinner here in my garden. " Lady Mikoto said with a huge grin as they walked by the garden. "We can even have some decorations up, by theme of course." "The music can go on the left side next to the main table too. " Lady Kushina said pitching ideas. "We can place a fountain here!" Karin shriked letting go of Sasuke's arm and running up to the center of the garden. Naruto shiffted his gaze away from them all getting a glimpse of Sasuke.
"At least they dont have the theme colors." Naruto said watching him. "My colors can be Dark red and dark blue!' Karin shriked clapping "Nope, She has them." Sakue turned to glare at him. "Hey don't give me that face I'm not the one marrying you. If you don't want to get married then don't, You don't have to go through it, just say something." "I won't" "Why not?! Your just going to sit back and do nothing to prevent it!" "Shut up!" Sasuke said in a loud harsh voice. If anyone else would have heard Sasuke's growl they would have been intimidated but not Naruto, he was the only one who could knock some sense into him if possible. Naruto glarred him, what did he mean he won't, he can't be that pathetic and weak.
"Listen you don't have to go through with it, give your thoughts and voice what you want. Not everything is set, you can still go ahead and make your own decision. you know that." He said trying to get Sasuke to listen.
Naruto knew that Sauke didnt want to marry anyone, if anything Naruto knew Sasuke was going along with it just to get his dad's approval. "You're stupid and pathetic you know that. Instead of moping around like some kid, do something about it and say no. For once in your life learn to say no to your father..." "Why don't you." Sasuke said cutting him off "You talk like your a big shot yet you can't tell your parents no. In case you forgot you too have an arranged marriage."
Naruto shiffted his gaze away from Sasuke. "I will. When the time comes... For now, it's no big deal. Besides I already have my eyes set on someone." He said rubbing the back of his head. "Whatever." Sasuke said placing his hands in his passing between the two of them only to have the laughter and chatting of their parents and Karin become louder.

She felt someone sit next to her and she instantly knew who it was. "What are you doing Sakura-chan?" Naruto asked taking her left head phone out and placing it in his left ear. "It's not fair"
"I'm sorry, I just wanted to know what you were listening to." Sakura shock her head "No, that's not it." "Still upset about that one maid?" "That one maid has a name, Its Yuki." Naruto nodded "Yeah well Lord Fugaku spoke so..." "So someone innocent had to pay?" "I guess." They both watch the koi pond feeling the nice breeze against their skin.
"Did you see Sasuke though?" " Yeah he's with our parents and my dumb cousin, it bored me so I came over here to wait." "No, that's not what I meant. He didn't do anything when his father announced his engagement, he completely went blank." "Yeah well it's normal for engagements at this age." "Normal? For who?" Naruto sighted.
It was normal for the old wealthy familes of Japan to have their children already merge into another wealthy family even before they were born. Everyone of them had one already, and for Naruto it wasn't an exception. He too had a fiance , but he was ok with it because he wasn't going to marry anyone he didnt want to. No one told him what to do he was the only one capable of choosing. But for the mean time he'd let his parents believe he was going throught with it, besides he didn't want to anger his mom ...he feared her the most.
Sakura caught a glimpse of Naruto, she knew that face it meant he was thinking of something serious. She returned her attention to the song's lyrics and hummed.
Sakura and Naruto have been friends since Pre-k. They would always meet out here by the koi pond playing hide and seek, making races, riding bikes and even play fighting, always joking around saying they had to be stronger and powerful then everyone else.
They always meet up after school since Sakura didn't attend their private school. Naruto always coming over to the Uchihas house with his mother since the two main ladies are best friends. All three played together as long as she could remember it had been her, Naruto and Sasuke.
Back then Sasuke was and outgoing kid, always smiling , laughing , joking around, it almost seemed like Naruto and him had the same personality. It all changed when they were around 11 years old. Sasukes's older brother Itachi Uchiha, returned from the states causing Sasuke to change. Sasuke stopped playing with Naruto and Sakura and focused on school more than anything, and sports. He began ignoring his friends and following Itachi. Sakura noticed that he wanted to be like Itachi but Naruto being Naruto shrugged it off and said that it's part of their training. They are heirs of big companies they had to begin learing about the business at an early age. Sakura wasn't ok with it, but knew she couldn't interfere after all they belonged to way different familes. It was one of the reasons why she never attended the same school as them.
"Well Sasuke is smart Sakura, You don't have to worry, he'll surpass this one way or another." Naruto said, she rolled her eyes "I don't care what he dose. " She said looking at the pond. She didn't care anymore he left and choose to ignore her so why would she bother herself worring over someone who left her. He left at the age of 13 to learn about the Uchiha business and it was about the same time that Naruto left too, Leaving Sakura alone.
The difference was that Naruto always called her an txted her made sure she was ok when he was away. But she had lost contact with Sasuke and she believed it was since day one when Itachi first arrived.
She was surprised when she thought she saw Itachi walking around the koi pond three years later , turning out to be an older Sasuke Uchiha. She had inwardly smiled and headed his direction , when he simply ignored her and went right past her not even giving her a glimpse. She didn't want to admit it but her chest hurt and she didn't know why. A month later she got a visit from an all grown up Naruto happy as always picking her up and hugging her.
The sound of voices brought her back to reality, she turned to look at the Uchihas and Uzumakis heading their direction. The main heads walking next to each other smiling and talking while a beaming Karin held on to Sasuke's arm Sasuke having a blank face all along.
Sakura sighted " Time for me to go." "Where too" "Study for chemistry, we have a test this upcoming Thursday." Naruto rubbed the back of his neck smiling sheepeshly "Good thing I don't have chemistry, I hate math." Sakura shock her head smiling and stood up heading towards her house.
"NARUTO!" Lady Kushina yelled at her son "Where did you go huh?!" Naruto ran towards his parents waving his hands up and laughing.

It was pitch black inside... nothing but the full moon could be seen through the open balcony doors the wind blowing through the long White night was surrounded by silence only a few rustles of the wind were heard. There was a long sigh followed by a shuffling of bed covers being pushed to the side, feet sinking inisde black vans next to the bed.
He didn't understand why he always showed up here, or when it even started all he knew was that his midnight Walks always ended up here Infront of this window.
He knocked 4 times, before he heard feet shuffling followed by the window lifting up. His onyx eyes meet Jade ones and he watched as she blinked before moving aside to let him in.
He climbed inside the room turning around in time to see a pillow being thrown at him. He caught it and went to his place on the long wide couch.
He turned his head over towards the window where he had just come in and watched the same moon this time being a better view, even though it was the same moon he saw from his room.
"Dose everyone see the moon the same way?"
Sakura was startled when she heard Sasuke speak. He never spoke to her, not once when he slept in her room and they never spoke about it, they came into mural agreement of not saying a single word about this not even to themselves. A mutual agreement yet they never spoke to each other about the agreement. They somehow knew about it and silently agreed.
"I guess" Sakura said after a while. "But why dose it seem diffrent?" he mumbled "Angle?" She said uncertain herself. "Hmm." He said after a while. Sakura had her eyes on the ceiling wondering why he was talking all she wanted to do was sleep.
"I wonder how diffrent everything would be 3 years from now..." He thought to himself . He let out a big sigh. Sakura for the first time turned to look at him. His face features were highlighted because of the moon's light, giving him a mysterious aurora. She would be lying to herself if she didnt admit it, he was indeed attractive, with his sharp face features and dark deep onyx eyes. He's hair was full of life and almost soft like she inwardly wanted to run her hand through it but thought otherwise. Besides once he started speaking all his attractiveness went away. Right now though he looked sad and vulnerable She suddenly wondered what was on his mind.
"What's wrong?" She didnt think about asking him it just came out. She inwardly got mad with herself for asking but was surprised when he spoke. "You think people change? or can't change?" Sakura took a long pause before answering.
"Wheather we want it or not, some people do others don't...It's what you make of it that counts." Sasuke shiffted to his side looking at her "How can one change without hurting others?" She didn't know how to answer to him she was confused about that one too.
She looked towards his direction and caught him looking at her a curious look on his face. She inwardly blushed and looked away turning around giving him her back. " I... I don't have an answer.." She said almost stuttering. He shiffted his eyes back at the window lost in thought. "Hnnn" She pulled her bed covers up and closed her eyes. "It's why I'm changing... after graduation I'm gone." She mumbled.
He never thought of that, of his future after graduation it never crossed his mind. He was so used to everything he thought everything was all set graduation, college and empire. That was it all that was on his mind was being better than Itachi, nothing else.

News traveled faster than light at school, Sakura could tell people were affected by it.. mostly girls. She shook her head puting her loose strand of hair behing her ear.
It was already in the news when Sakura woke up, it was officially confirmed that Sasuke and Karin are engaged and will be having a wedding soon. She could see all the students in their phone catching up on the news. She could hear everyone talking about it, it was a huge commotion in school. She shook her head. Oh stop exaggerating, Sakura thought as she saw some girls crying.
She thought it was the most ridiculous thing, to cry and whine over someone who was far from reach. She would never do that. Sakura Haruno had dignity and intregati she would never cry over someone let alone a man. She inwardly laughed. That would be the day.
