Chapter 5 Dark Greeting
Tian was getting sick of being in this small jet with a man that barely talked. They've been flying for over 8 hours by now and had at least 2 to go. The only thing keeping him sane is the amount of sleep he got to catch up on, he also had the chance to message his friends and family. Something that the doctor and Bryan barely let him do.
"So what are your hobbies?" Asked Tian and all he got in return was a grunt.
"Have any friends?" Yet again Tian got a grunt as an answer.
"Seen any good movies lately?" That one actually won him Bryan's signature smirk. Weirdly enough during the 3 years he's known Bryan none of these questions ever came up. They never had time to actually try to talk, or for Tian to try to flirt. Gosh Tian is really bad at flirting, then again he never really got the chance to, especially to a guy before. Tian had only dated women in the past. And most of them did not go so well, they almost always lasted one date. Well there was that one girl, but she was a bit too much for Tian. He was too scared to say no to a second date, but she really wasn't all that bad, she was just a bit too forward. Oh, and that girl from just outside of Austin was something. Tian was pretty sure she was a product of incest. She wasn't very smart, and her eyes were just a smidge too far apart. I guess he had some game back in high school, if he could call it that. He had girlfriends because that's what you're supposed to do in high school and only one girl saw through him. Elle that bitch! Who cares if he was using her, she was using him as well! Speaking of using, that hoe Blair was using Tian just to stalk his brother! Who does that? There's one good thing about falling for Bryan, Tian doubted that it would bring any drama to his life. Maybe some violence but more than likely no drama or backstabbing or stalking of any brothers.
"We're here," Bryan stated. And the jet started it's descent.
"Welcome to the King of Iron Fist Tournament 7!" Exclaimed a voice as Tian and Bryan were climbing out of the jet.
"Iron fist tournament?" Asked Tian looking at Bryan.
"It's exactly what it sounds like" Byan replied back, not looking remotely surprised by it. Then they were surrounded by giant men that looked slightly off. Almost robotic like.
"We will take you both to your room" One of them stepped forward to say. Tian looked at Bryan to see his reaction and to check if he should be on guard. Bryan didn't look any different and let these giant man robot things lead them into a pretty decent looking resort. They turned down several hallways and were led to a regular looking hotel door. And then the giants left.
"Pffs. I hate those things. Jack 5, 6, 10, 24. I don't even remember what number they're on now" Bryan said with disgust. They both entered the room. Tian immediately went to the bathroom and Bryan did a scan of the room, making sure there wasn't anything abnormal going on.
"So how did they know that we even signed up for this 'tournament'." Tian asked, coming out of the bathroom looking more relaxed and stretching his limbs.
"No one would ever come to this island unless they were in the tournament" Bryan replied back.
"But we aren't in this tournament," Tian stated, a bit confused.
"We are now because we know Nina has entered in as well," Bryan says leaning against the wall beside the door. "She's here to make her way to Heihachi to sale him what's on the hard drive"
"If she wanted to do that, and this is a tournament which means they have one every year, why is she doing it this year?" Tian was confused yet again. But also wanting to hear Bryan's voice again. This is probably the only time he would talk this much again.
"It's been cancelled for the past 4 years. The Mishima's who sponsored and made this tournament have many enemies, the worst ones being their own family members. It was cancelled one year because one of them was killed. Another year because one was missing. Another because one turned into a devil. That family has a lot of secrets." Bryan said looking out the window opposite him. That was the first time Tian heard Bryan speak that much. The only other question Tian had was why did Bryan kill the doctor and why was he still after the hard drive if this was Dr. Bosconovitch's problem. Tian didn't want to voice his question in case Bryan was going to turn his rage attack on to him. For now Tian will keep quiet and do what he was trained to do, watch Bryan's six and retrieve the hard drive, then he can return home and act like none of this happened. Except he will probably always be in love with his comrade.
"Let's grab something to eat and then head to bed. If we are really doing this tournament then I'm sure we'll need some rest." Tian vocalized. He's been in tournaments before, Magic tournaments, but he doubts they will even compare to this one. Tian received a grunt in reply. He guessed they were back to one sentenced answers and grunts again.
