Chapter 2: Reality
Izuku felt empty, his dream had been crushed. What was he supposed to do now? Should he just get a normal office job? No he wanted to be hero, the thought of working a plain old office didn't sit well with him. Tears started to roll down his face once more but he quickly wiped them away, this wasn't a time to be crying, deep down somewhere in his heart he knew that being a hero without a quirk would be near impossible.
Izuku's train of thought broke when he bumped in a crowd of people gathered observing which seemed to be a villain attack. Izuku would've loved to watch the event and take notes but at this point nothing really mattered to him.
"Its taken a student as a hostage," shouted someone in the crowd.
There was a loud gasp and those words caught Izuku's attention, he pushed forward through the crowd and looked towards the villain and realized it was the same villain that attacked him earlier and it indeed had taken someone hostage.
"Did All might drop the soda bottle or something," he thought.
After several moments of observing the villain his heart leapt with joy and his once empty eyes now had emotions in them. Izuku felt happy and seemed to be that the student who taken hostage was none other than Katsuki Bakugou.
"That's right suffer, suffer like I did, remember the feeling of being unable to do something while someone powerful stand above you," Izuku told Kacchan in his mind.
He was thoroughly enjoying the sight of a powerless Bakugou. A sadistic grin had formed on his face. He was almost about to start laughing maniacally when All might appeared and Detroit smashed the villain into oblivion. All might was an eyesore for Izuku now, he just wanted to walk up to his former idol stab him in his weak point. All his hate for the hero came back and his eyes were once again emotionless.
"I'm home," said Izuku depressingly as he entered his apartment.
"Welcome home swee-" Inko stopped her greeting when she saw her son's mental state.
"What happened Izuku," she asked worriedly.
"I met All might," said Izuku in low tone
Inko's face lit up with joy but then it struck her. If he met the hero he so much admired since he was a little kid, then what explains his current state? She was confused as hell.
"Isn't that a good-"
"He told me I can't be a hero and I should give up."
She understood now. She rushed up to her son and gave him a hug, unable to find word to further comfort him. For Izuku the arms of his mother was the only remaining comfort he had left in this world. After a few second Inko let him and slouched his way to his room without another word.
His room was another problem. It was filled with All might posters and figurines. Upon opening the door to his room he stopped dead, then all of a sudden he went into a rage. He ripped the posters of his wall violently and trashed his room smashing his All might figurines. His mom heard all the commotion but thought it better to not interfere. Izuku buried his face into a pillow and cried himself to sleep, maybe tomorrow will be better.
Izuku woke up refreshed and emotionally better. After his breakfast he decided to go for a walk and clear his mind and also think about his future.
"I'm going for a little walk," Izuku told his mother
"Ok, take care honey."
Izuku had been walking for about ten minutes now thinking about what he should do now that his ambition had been blown off. A part of him still wanted to be hero so he was thinking about becoming a crime analyst since he was good at analyzing and observing each and every little detail. He went inside a convenience store and headed to the drinks section, he grabbed his favorite drink and went towards the cashier to pay for his product. What he saw there sent shivers down his spine, the store was being robbed and a villain was pointing his index finger which had a barrel at the end of it (It was his quirk) at the cashier.
"Put the money in the bag quickly," the villain shouted with a look of worry on his face.
He then noticed Izuku who was frozen in his place. A smile formed on the villain's face,
"Oi kid, empty your pockets right now," the villain threatened as he pointed his finger at Izuku and started walking towards him.
Izuku quickly handed over his wallet to the villain. Just as the villain turned around to face the cashier he saw that the cashier had ran away and called for help. The villain quickly grabbed Izuku and pointed a gun to his head, making him a hostage. The heroes who rushed to the scene were unable to do anything because of the hostage situation and the qurikless Izuku had no means to defend himself. The villain moved Izuku to back most aisle as the heroes saw through glass windows at the stores' entrance. The villain told Izuku to stay still or else he'll shoot him. Izuku obeyed and observed the villain for awhile. He looked far too worried and something told Izuku it wasn't the fear of getting caught.
Izuku finally found his voice "Hey, why are you doing this," Izuku questioned innocently.
"That's none of your concern, now shut up and let me think a way out," the villain replied rather harshly
"But I want to know what led you to doing such crimes."
"It's not like I wanted to this, I had no other option."
"What do you mean?" Izuku asked curiously
"My little daughter is sick, I need money for her treatment. I asked for help from everyone but no one is willing to help me," the villain said solemnly
"What's your name?"
"Hanzo," replied the villain.
"Ok Hanzo, I'll help you out of this situation," Izuku said earnestly.
"But why woul-"
"HANZO, THIS IS TAKIZAWA FROM THE POLICE DEPARTMENT, WE HAVE YOU SURROUNED. NOW WE CAN DO THIS THE EASY WAY OR THE HARD WAY, THE CHOICE IS YOURS," the negotiator said through a megaphone.
Hanzo felt at his heart drop at his name "Its no use kid, I appreciate the thought but they already figured out my identity. It's better to surrender now before things get worse," Hanzo explained as tears fell down his eyes.
He exited through the front entrance with his hands up when suddenly he got knocked unconscious by an amateur hero. The crowd started cheering as the hero picked up Hanzo's unconscious body and showed it off to the crowd. Izuku was at a loss for words after seeing how Hanzo was treated like scum by the hero.
"He was desperate, he wasn't evil. He just wanted to help his daughter," Izuku thought to himself.
"Why is this bitch getting all the credit for it, he didn't do shit. He just preyed on the weak and helpless man." Izuku thought looking at the hero showing off.
He was now angry, he had lost all respect for heroes. Fame hungry monsters who preyed on the weak, those are heroes. The police personnel rushed up to Izuku and questioned him for a bit before pardoning him.
Izuku made his way home still thinking about the event that had taken place, he was unable to do anything for Hanzo. On top of that the hero had humiliated him. Are all villains like that? Are all villains just desperate and are forced to do what they have to? Izuku started to empathize with the villains while his hate for heroes grew larger than ever.
Upon reaching his home he quickly ran to his room and opened up his laptop and searched up for famous villains who've been spotted in his local area. Villains now interested him, he wanted to meet one and see for himself if villains were just evil or desperate, shunned people of the society. After searching for several minutes he found a villain who piqued his interest.
Hero Killer Stain.
