Introduction: 'Questionable Gear Choices on a hot day'

"Oi, Nikodim!"

"Da?"

It was a hot summers day in Verdansk, and it seemed both sides of the ongoing war had taken a break. With the AQ forces seemingly staying indoors attempting to cool off, and the Armistice forces taking to trying to cool themselves off.

"You realize we are in hostile territory right, lad?" came the voice of William, a British CTSFO unit that was recruited into the Armistice not that long after the start of the whole Verdansk disaster with three others.

"Da and?" Nikodim responded, who was better known as 'Rodion'.

"Your wearing nothing but your shirt and your swimming trunks."

It was true, Nikodim was wearing nothing but a pair of sunglasses, a white and blue T-shirt with some Russian lettering on it and...blue flower patterned trunks; all whilst reclining in a lawn chair.

"Comrade its one-hundred and six degrees outside, we're operators yes, but even the enemy has their pants down as much as we do"

"Yeah, but neither are an impressive sight" spoke a female voice, that belonged to Dominique better known as 'Domino'.

Rodion lifted his shades up and narrowed his eyes at the French-Korean woman, as he noticed she too was dressed in a similar fashion. With her wearing a red shirt, followed by khaki shorts and sandals. Her hair was pulled back in a bun, and she had a pair of golden aviators on.

Rodion gave a small smirk, "Harsh words coming from someone flatter than a stick" he said, and with that Domino gave a blank stare before walking off. He chuckled, and William shook his head. "Anyways, William my soyuznik why have you not changed out of your...well armor?" he asked, as the Brit blinked.

"We're in a hostile environment and incase I get shot, I would rather have a plate infront of my chest protecting me" he said, as Nikodim sighed. "You are a lost cause. Even our Korean comrade is over there helping setup a pool in nothing but his trousers, and he's the same way as you about most things!" he pointed out, as it was true as well. Just to their left was Seo, Kreuger, and Golem working on getting a pool setup for the day.

"Hans, hand me the screwdriver" spoke out Kreuger in his usual monotone voice, as he reached up and wiped a bead of sweat coming from his forehead. The Austrian was dressed in only a pair of black and red swimming trunks, his exposed chest showed both his scars, and various tattoos on his body; while his dark blonde hair seemed to be matted with sweat.

Hans better known as 'Golem', was dressed in a similar fashion with green digital camo swimming trunks. Except given his rather hairy body structure, the man literally looked like he was melting as he slid the screwdriver over to Kreuger. "Here you go Sebastian...but can we please take a break in the shade soon? I feel as though I'm turning into a puddle..."

"Save your whining, we've gone through worse..." breathed out Seo the South Korean of the team, who was dressed in only a pair of white swimming trunks. His tan and very well formed body was dripping with sweat, and his usually short brown hair was in a similar fashion to Sebastian's, or Kreuger's.

"Oi! Boys! Hows the pool comin' along?" Came the voice of Charly, which prompted Kreuger to look over. He narrowed his eyes, seeing Charlotte had taken refuge under a parasol with most of the female's in the Armistice. The Scottish woman was dressed in nothing but a blue and white two piece swimsuit, and seemed to be enjoying the shade. She had a coy smile on her face, as Kreuger noticed Iskra was beside her dressed in a black one piece swimsuit and relaxing in a similar fashion. Mara was seated next to Iskra, having taken to wearing a pair of shades and a red and black two piece swimsuit.

"We're almost done...once we get some water in the pool it will be done" He answered, as he went to turn back to the pool.

"And Sebastian! Care to get me a drink when your done?" She asked, as Kreuger gave a thumbs up and stood up.

Stepping by them was Ghost who was dressed in, nothing but a black t-shirt and a pair black swimming trunks...and his mask. Beside him was Alex, who was dressed in just a pair of green swimming trunks and some shades.

"Gents, getting the pool up?" called out Ghost, as everyone(save for Kreuger) looked at him. And specifically just how he was still wearing his mask.

"...What?"

"How in the joder are you wearing that in this weather?" called out Mara, as everyone seemed to be wondering the same thing.

"Right, I came here to see if the pool was up not play twenty questions, so sod off" Ghost said, before walked off towards a nearby house. Alex gave an uneasy look, as he clasped his hands together and rubbed them. "So...how is the pool coming along?" he asked, as Kreuger sighed for what seemed to be the umpteenth time.

"Just need to get the water in" he answered, as he was already moving over to grab the nearby hose.

"Oi! Sebastian! Don't forget me drink!" Charly called out, as Kreuger held back a sigh.

"I got it, I can get it for you Charly, while Kreugers getting the hose-" Seo said, as he started to get up and off the ground and headed to the mini fridge nearby in another shaded area.

"No, I didn' ask for you boyscout, I asked for Sebastian." Charly said, as she leaned forward a bit making sure she got the point across. With that Seo gave a shrug, before he walked back towards the pool passing by a seemingly passed out Golem.

"Here you are sehr geehrter" he said, as he handed Charly an ice cold glass of a vodka lemonade mix with a fake small umbrella in it. It seemed that while Charly was talking to Seo, Kreuger had not only gotten the hose to start filling up the pool, but also fixed up an alcoholic beverage for Charly.

"Thanks caraid" said Charly as she looked up at Kreuger who only flashed a brief small smile back at her.

"Seo? Maybe you could fix me up a drink perhaps?" Iskra said to the Korean, who was eyeing the still possibly dead Golem. "Ehm...sure, if I know how to make it I can do it" He said to her, as he looked over at the Urzik. The two began to chat, as Nikodim and William blinked.

"Is it just me or does this seem to almost be exactly like an episode in a sitcom?" William pointed out, as Nikodim laughed briefly. "You're a funny man, William..." he said, before laying back against the lawn chair and slipping his glasses back down; seemingly enjoying the view of being on top of the hill in Verdansk.

"Oi! Is the pool up yet lads?" Called out Ghost, as he returned with not one, but two lawn chairs. He set them down by the pool, and Alex plopped down on one while Ghost sat down on the other.

"Not yet, its up to the knees" called out Kreuger who was already in the pool sitting down in the frigid waters. He seemed to have gone from burning hot, to freezing cold.

"Thats good enough for me!" Called out Golem, as he jumped into the pool. He landed roughly on the floor of the pool with a grunt, as he turned over onto his back. "You weren't kidding when you said it was up to the knees..." he grunted, as Kreuger blinked.

"Did you think I was lying?" Sebastian said with a raised brow, as Golem shrugged. "Kinda"

"Swear to christ, these operators can kill like savages, but behave like children" Ghost said, as Alex let out a 'psh'.

"It's just the heat thats getting to them, Simon. Don't let it bother you too much." Alex said, as he glanced over at the masked male.

"Eh...its better than being cooped up indoors and getting cabin fever" Ghost said, as he then glanced over at you-

"What?"

"Oh its nothing" Ghost said, as he changed the subject. "Anyways, I heard Price and Gaz might be joining us later"

"Oh? Any news on if-"

"Farah isn't coming Alex"

"Damn...ah well, I suppose I tried" Alex let out a breath, as he wiped his forehead clean of sweat.

Ghost felt a hint of curiosity rise, as he looked over at Alex. "Did you and that lady ever...you know"

"What?"

"Oh nothing lad, nothing at all..." Ghost said, as he smirked to himself behind the mask.

"Oh no, we didn't do anything-"

"Sure you didn't Lad"

"Shite that's fucking cold!" Yelled out Charly interrupting the two, as the pool was now up to waist level. She had dipped her finger in it, and nearly recoiled back like the poor Scotswoman was shot.

"Its not that bad" Kreuger said as he floated around, as to be honest he would have rather taken to freezing than burning.

"Maybe to you its not" said Charly, as she slowly slipped into the pool with a gasp.

"Hey is the pool ready amigos?"

"Hey! Save some room for me and Iskra!"

And so began the chaos of everyone trying to get into the pool to cool off.

"Hah...look at that, a fight for the pool...reminds me a bit of a modern day warzone with the way they're fighting for it." Alex said, as Ghost nodded.

"Good day gents"

"Price, nice seeing you here" Ghost said, as he looked behind him to see Price and Kyle. Kyle was wearing a simple white tee-shirt, followed by a towel draped over his shoulder, and a pair of black swimming trunks. With price wearing his ever so infamous(or famous) hat, and...rubber ducky swimming trunks?

"...Price?"

"Simon?"

"Have you gone off your rocker?"

"I haven't a clue of what you mean...anyways, seems as though the pool's been commandeered by your allies" Price said, as Ghost shook his head.

"A nice bunch of allies you sent me"

"So it seems...we got a backup pool just behind us thats coming in, so I doubt we'll be in the sun much longer." Price said, as he crossed his arms.

"Sir? If I may?" Gaz began to speak up.

"Go ahead Kyle"

"What do you mean behind us? There's nothing but open field and then a house..."

"Right best we fix that then" Price said, as he reached into his pocket pulling out a radio. "Bluebird I need air support to make the drop and I need it now" he spoke into the microphone.

"Copy, Bluebird 3-1 making the drop now"

Just then a gunship flew in over head, causing almost anyone to look up to the sky seeing its massive shadow fly over the lands. Inside the gunship itself, the hatch opened up as four soldiers began to push a cargo crate out.

"Push! Push! Drop the payload now!"

"Dropping payload!"

A massive crate fell out of the gunship, and began to soar to the ground aiming for the ongoing pool party.

"Deploy the chute!"

"Deploying chute!"

A chute went up on the crate steadying it, and keeping it still as it slowly made its way to the ground.

"Alright, mission accomplished boys, lets go home"

The gunship soon began to fly over the horizon, as the crate landed behind Kyle getting a slight startle out of him. And as if by magic, the crate unpacked itself revealing a much larger pool than the one that was previously constructed by Golem, Kreuger, and Seo. And all anyone could do was watch in slight shock about what just happened.

"Right then lads, suppose we might wanna move it over." Price spoke up, as Alex chuckled.

"Damn straight captain" he said, as he got out of his chair and walked towards the pool with Ghost following close behind.

And all anyone can think of at that moment was.

'What a fucking play'
