A/N Thank you so much for the reviews guys! Means a lot! I tried uploading as fast as I can, so there you go, chapter 10! I think this story will have around 15 chapters, 16 maximum, or it'll be too long. I got plenty of ideas for future stories and can't wait to share them all with you ;)

A/N You're getting the Rachel/Stan confrontation in this chapter and finally Grace will make her appearance in the next chapter! Enjoy!

CHAPTER TEN

Steve had been sitting in the waiting area for over 30 minutes now, he had to wait for the treatment to be over before he could go back to Danny's room. Meanwhile, he called Chin and Kono to inform them about what had happened. He told them to keep working and not worry about him or Danny. They tried coming to the hospital when Danny first woke up but since he fell asleep right after it, Steve told them to come back later. This time they decided to visit in a couple of hours after work.

Steve only had one more person to call, and that was Rachel. Not only does he need to tell her that Danny had gone through a pain crisis, but she needs to know the truth about Stan. He decided that it would be best to tell her face to face. He took his phone out of his pocket and dialed her number, sighing, hoping everything will go fine.

"Good afternoon, Commander" answered Rachel, in her strong British accent.

"Hello, Rachel. Look I'm calling because there's something I want to tell you" replied Steve. He knew that Rachel will be upset, again, but he had no choice. After all, she's his wife and she deserves to know.

Rachel panicked after hearing Steve's words. She thought that something terrible happened to Danny. "Is everything alright with Danny? What's happened" the worry evident in her voice.

"Danny's doing fine. He just had a pain crisis in his neck that radiated through his back and legs, but they're treating him and it's going well. The doctor said that we should expect more of those" declared Steve.

"Oh god.. are you sure he's fine?" asked Rachel. She was genuinely concerned, that crash really hit Danny hard. She wondered who did this to him.

"Don't worry, he's doing fine. Listen. There's something else I'd like to tell you. Do you mind if you can come to the hospital, it's really important and it's better if it's face to face than on the phone" said Steve.

Rachel was surprised by Steve's question. She didn't know what was so important. "Um, yeah sure. Grace is at her friend's house, I can leave for a couple of hours. I'll be there in twenty minutes" enounced Rachel. Steve then thanked her and she hung up.

Steve sat back down and ran his hand across his face. He didn't know how Rachel would handle the news that she'd stumble upon, but she had to know, she can't be lied to like that. It has been going on for three days and that's too much. He sighed and waited for her to arrive. He figured that Danny would be asleep after the treatment so leaving him alone for an hour or so wouldn't change much, but he'd have to come back to him as soon as possible, he still wanted to be with him and close to him.

Twenty minutes had passed and Steve was still waiting for Rachel. He felt nervous and scared, delivering news like that isn't going to be easy. His elbows were on his knees and his face was buried in the palms of his hands. Just then, he raised it and saw Rachel. She was wearing a dress and sandals. Steve was used to her always being so sophisticated, she was very simplistic now.

He stood up and as she approached, he pulled her in a sweet little hug. "I'm glad you could make it" said Steve, smiling softly.

"It's fine. Is Danny alright?" questioned Rachel.

"Yeah, he's fine. He's sleeping now, the finished the treatment fifteen minutes ago, but don't worry, he's alright now" answered Steve.

"Okay, that's good" she then paused and looked at Steve, with seriousness written all over her face, "So, what is it that you want to tell me? Is there something going on?"

She seemed very anxious and worried. Steve sighed and looked at her. He licked his lips and spoke, "Rachel, listen, I don't know how you'll react to what I'm about to tell you, but you should know about it, it's important."

She looked at him very confused, she had no idea what he was talking about. "Commander, I don't understand, what's going on?"

"Rachel, we looked into the accident, and we found out who was the man driving the car that hit Danny" said Steve.

"Okay, and what does that have to do with me?" asked Rachel. As much as she wanted to know who did it, she didn't understand why Steve had her come to the hospital to tell her that.

"Rachel, it was Stan" announced Steve. He braced himself for her reaction.

"I'm sorry, what?!" exclaimed Rachel. She was so confused, Stan would never do that.

"Rachel, I'm sorry but that's the truth, and we have proof, we have it on camera footage and we tracked his cellphone. I'm sorry" asserted Steve.

Rachel lost it, she felt betrayed and lost and confused. She felt angry and sad, she was in shock. She started feeling a little bit dizzy, so she found the closest chair to her and sat down. She felt the lump in her throat. "There has to be something wrong, this can't be true" enounced Rachel, her voice shaking.

Steve hated himself for doing that and delivering bad news to Rachel like that for the second time. "Rachel, I'm so sorry, but that's the truth." He then sat down next to her and pulled her in a small affectionate hug. At that moment, she had lost control of her emotions and the tears started running down her cheeks, as she buried her head on Steve's shoulders.

Steve, on the other hand, tightened the hug and ran his hand across her back, hoping this nightmare would soon end and be over. Around ten seconds later, Rachel raised her head and wiped the tears, "Oh god, I'm so sorry, I.. I apologize."

"You don't have to be sorry about anything, Rachel, I understand and I know that it must be hard on you, I'm really sorry" responded Steve.

Rachel sighed and spoke again, "Can I go see him, or is it not allowed?" she asked. She wanted to see him, get answers, and understand why he did what he did.

"Yes, you can see him, it's allowed" answered Steve.

Rachel then declared that she wanted to go now, so Steve accepted and took her. He gave one of the nurses his number so that she could call him in case anything happens to Danny. He didn't want to leave the hospital, but Rachel deserves to see Stan and she had every right to do so.

They made their way to the parking lot, and entered Steve's truck. The ride to HQ was pretty much silent. Rachel was still in shock and she was obviously in her own thoughts. On their way, Steve called Chin to tell him and he and Rachel are on their way.

When they arrived, Steve immediately took her to the interrogation room where Stan was being held. She was standing right by the door, and at that moment she hesitated on going in, but she needed some answers.

"You can go in, I'll be waiting here outside. If you don't feel good, tell me, alright?" said Steve.

Rachel nodded and pulled down the door handle. That was it, it was time to get answers from Stan, the man that not only planned the crash of Danny, but the man that lied to her. She had felt betrayed.

Stan looked up and instantly recognized her. He was so happy to see her. He knew that her coming to see him meant one thing, she knew about everything. All that was left to do was figure out if she would hate him for the rest of her life or understand his actions. "Rachel, I-"

Rachel directly cut him off by raising her finger up. She looked angry and disappointed. "Don't say a word. I don't even know where to begin, Stanley"

Stan then saw his whole life fall apart in a matter of seconds. First, Rachel looked so angry at him and that's when he realized that he was about to lose everything he had. His family was all that he had left, and if Rachel was angry at him, that meant that she wouldn't be far from leaving him. Secondly, Rachel barely ever calls him Stanley unless it's serious, and well, he got his answer. "Rach, I'm really sorry, I don't know what I was thinking, I-"

She cut him off once again. "Sorry?! You think that you apologizing will fix everything? You wanted him dead, Stan. It's all clear. And I don't want to hear all this crap about you being sorry and you not knowing what you were thinking. What is done is done, and you can't change that. Your stupid apologies won't change anything. Why? Why did you do this to him? Tell me, why?"

Stan looked at her and sighed, the least he could do is give her an explanation. "Look, ever since Danny won the custody battle and got to keep Grace here, I just hated him. I had plans on raising a family with you on the mainland, Rachel. I was ready to start over, you know, start a new life, get away from here. On top of that, Danny being a cop always put us at risk, and you and I both know that. I mean, Grace got kidnapped last year. Why? Because Danny put some guy in jail and he wanted revenge. I can't have that happening again to her or even Charlie. He ruined our chance of living a peaceful brand new life. I hated him for doing that Rachel. And I saw the look of disappointment and anger on your face when you found out that he won. I did this for you, for us. That's why, I just needed him out of the picture."

Rachel was shocked, she never knew that it was this deep and complicated, but she never knew that Stan had it in him to physically hurt Danny and try to kill him. "You hated him to the point where you actually tried to kill him?! Stanley, I don't even know what to say. Maybe you're right, I was pissed when Danny won the custody battle, but I would never, and I mean never, try to kill him. It took me some time to get over it, and I did, not too long ago, but I did. To top it all off, you lied to me, which makes this whole situation worse." Her voice was filled with anger and disappointment.

"Rachel, I'm really sorry, I swear, I am." That's all Stan could say.

"I was so dumb, who did I believe you? Those scars you had on your face were from the crash weren't they?" She paused and saw him nod, "Oh god.. And that crap about going to Shanghai for work, was it also a lie?"

Stan looked at her and hoped that sometime she's forgive him, but deep down, he knew that this wasn't happening, at least now. "Yes, and I apologize, really."

Rachel was surprised and taken aback, he had really planned everything, from A to Z. "God, I don't know what to say. I mean, who are you, what happened to you?" Before Stan could even say something, she cut him off and continued, she couldn't stay here any longer and look at that man. "Listen to me, if you think that I'm going to forgive you for what you did, you are wrong. This is so messed up and honestly, I'm just at a loss of words. I really want to slap you right now, but it looks like Commander McGarrett already did hit you. I hope it hurt. And also, if you think that I'll ever see you again, you are wrong, I'm filing the divorce papers tomorrow morning."

With that, Rachel turned around and left the room, her heart shattered in pieces, while Stan felt the tears running down his cheeks. He officially lost everything. Rachel was out of his sight, and he saw his life utterly fall apart right in front of his eyes. Steve then slammed the door. It was all over for him.
