Chapter 12

I went into a dream again this time, me seeing that I was with Gardevoir and we were able to talk again... and I could see the happiest smile on her face.

"I guess you had fun talking to Genji, Gardevoir?" I smiled at her.

"I did, vicariously," Gardevoir smirked. "We were able to be more friendly to each other than ever before. You really left an impression on him during your travels... but then he said something that made me think... he said that, when the world is saved from the natural disasters, Genji wants to break the curse that I'm placed under..." Gardevoir spoke, her smile fading at that.

"What's wrong with that?" I asked.

"Well... if I were to be resurrected from my curse... all my time spent as a spirit will be lost... as in, I'll forget everything that would've happened before the day I got cursed... and I have no clue if you'd be able to help jog it," Gardevoir said with sadness, me smiling at her.

"Don't worry, Gardevoir," I smiled at her. "Even if you did forget, I'd be willing to explain everything along with Genji. You and him deserve a happy ending after all you've been through."

"You're always so optimistic, Cher... and I like that about you. No matter what happens, know that I will always be by your side," Gardevoir smiled at me happily.

"Same here, Gardevoir," I smiled at her as the dream then ended and I woke up to something surprising.

"Whoa! Earthquake!" I gasped, everyone else being surprised as well.

"This is troubling... has anyone heard anything from Alakazam since the a few days ago?" Roll asked. We got our answer when Lombre came into our base soon after.

"Guys! Come to the Town Square! Shiftry wants all of us to go there for an important announcement. Rescue Teams from all over have been called in!" Lombre said, me then nodding and looking at my group, us going out to the square with Lombre and seeing a lot of pretty tough Pokemon, such as Blastoise, Octillery, Golem, Phanpy, Scyther, and Meganium. A lot were here and I saw Shiftry in the front of them by Felicity Bank.

"Attention everyone!" Shiftry said, getting their attention. "I... I'm not really good at this kind of thing, but it needs said and I'm going to do it. We have a big bit of trouble on our hands! Team IQ has went underground to confront Groudon... and they haven't returned!" Shiftry said, me gasping at that. It was true, their team should've been back by now!

"Oh my! This is terrible! How will we be able to save them?!" some of the group asked as I simply looked at Roll and my group and they all nodded. I had a feeling we were all thinking the same thing.

"If Team IQ needs rescuing, then leave it to the ones who were able to stand against them on even ground!" I smiled as me and Roll then stepped forward boldly, followed by Genji, Medicham, and Ekans.

"Huh? You guys? How can a group of mostly non-evolved Pokemon be considered on even ground with Team IQ?" asked one of the group, him being the Blastoise.

"Oh, believe me, bud, our group had to be on the run for quite awhile because of a very confusing issue. We went from here all the way to Mount Freeze in the northeastern-most part of the continent. And we defeated all three of the Legendary birds of Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres since our team has been formed. And when we had to brawl against Team IQ in Mount Freeze, we were on even ground, they even said as much!" I smirked widely.

"Roll smiled widely.

"She's not wrong, you know? I was a witness to them battling against Zapdos and winning. You guys are very brave to consider this. Does anyone else want to join the fight to save Alakazam and Team IQ?" Shiftry asked. It was then that Blastoise, Octillery, and Golem stepped forward next.

"We'll go as a combined team," Blastoise said as the crowd gawked.

"Whoa! Blastoise of Team Hydro, Octillery of Team Constrictors, and Golem of Team Rumblerock! With them and Team Snowfleece teaming up forces, there's no way that they'll lose!" the groups of Pokemon all cheered, me looking at my group with a smile widely.

"Well, I'd say this was worth it. Time to go save Team IQ," I smiled happily.

"From what I heard, Team IQ went missing in a place called Magma Cavern. You'll need to be super-prepared to save them," Shiftry said.

"Got it! Let's get ready to rumble," Medicham smirked.

"Kekeh, this is gonna be fun!" Genji smirked happily. We then got ourselves ready for the upcoming fight along with me buying a couple of TMs for myself and one for Genji that he wanted. For Genji, he got the move Shadow Ball, a very tough ghost type move. And I got the move Magnet Rise (which would make me immune to ground type attacks, the big major weakness of an electric type) and Round, which, along with Signal Beam, would be the only moves that could damage Groudon... unfortunately, that meant I had to give up Cotton Spore for Round and I got rid of Thunderwave for Magnet Rise.

"This is going to be an interesting match, since I've got a major disadvantage against ground type Pokemon. And Groudon is one," I smiled.

"Nothing we can't handle!" Ekans smiled.

"Quite right. We've got this far, now let's go farther," I smiled as I gathered all of us around and I held the ice teleporter in hand. I then said Magma Cavern and we appeared right at the start of the dungeon, me getting super hot from the magma and immediately rolling in the dirt to get my wool off. "Okay... now that I've got the hot wool sweater off, time to venture on," I said happily as we then entered the cavern itself and saw it had a lot of tough customers in it. They ranged from the Graveler and Golem's impressive bulk, to the poisonous Arbok, to the fiery Magcargo, even to the gigantic proportions of Onix and Steelix. And this dungeon was pretty long, lasting 23 floors and us having to eat a couple apples to keep our stamina up. We then got to an open area and had a small earthquake happen, me being surprised at it before it then died down... and after moving a bit further, we saw a sight that made us shocked.

"Tyranitar! Charizard!" I exclaimed, rushing up to them. "Are you okay?!" I asked them.

"No... we're pretty beat up..." Charizard groaned.

"Groudon... he's tough... trounced all of us..." Tyranitar groaned.

"Where's Alakazam?" Medicham asked.

"Up ahead... he's still fighting Groudon... be careful, guys. He's tough," Charizard said, me nodding as our group rushed forward and we saw that Alakazam was looking banged up as well.

"Alakazam! Are you alright?" Roll asked.

"Rgh... Groudon is unleashing it's full power against me... I can barely keep up..." Alakazam said as I saw that the magma around our group was red hot and boiling as the ground then started to shift wildly. "He's here!" Alakazam exclaimed before something shocking happened. The leader of Team IQ was swallowed underground by Groudon's land-changing skills! And then, Groudon emerged from the dirt in a form I immediately remembered upon seeing it.

"Primal Groudon... this is gonna be tough, guys! Primal Groudon is leagues tougher than regular Groudon!" I said, the group nodding and being prepared as Groudon let out an ear-shattering roar and we then entered a fight. I immediately used Magnet Rise, which I was surprised actually affected everyone in the team, as they all slightly floated off the ground! Roll then used Ice Ball on Groudon repeatedly, the giant magma-coated Pokemon roaring and trying to connect and Earthquake... but it completely missed all of us due to Magnet Rise!

"Kekeh! Take this!" Genjar smiled as he used Glare on Groudon, paralyzing him so he couldn't move or attack. Ekans then used Poison Tail on Groudon while Medicham used Power-up Punch. Groudon roared as he looked to be unable to do anything and I then answered with Signal Beam, which actually managed to confuse him! Roll then used Ice Beam on Groudon, Genji used Shadow Ball, Ekans used Earthquake of all moves, which ONLY DAMAGED GROUDON! And finally, with one more Power-up Punch from Medicham, it was all over. Groudon roared loudly as it then lost its Primal form and collapsed onto the ground, breathing in and out slowly. We had done it. We'd defeated Groudon! It was then that Team IQ appeared soon after, them gasping at our group and then at the felled Groudon.

"You actually did it... you defeated Groudon!" Charizard gawked.

"Is he going to be okay?" Roll asked.

"Yes, he was only enraged from being prematurely woken from the quakes. He'll wake up in a more calm manner at a later time. But right now, we should get out of here before anymore quakes happen," Alakazam said. I nodded and used my Rescue Team Badge, all of our group emerging from the Magma Cavern with smiles on our faces. "I have to hand it to you, Team Snowfleece. You really were amazing. You have now bested Team IQ in strength," Alakazam smiled.

"Well, if it weren't for me getting the move Magnet Rise added to my arsenal, we wouldn't have stood a chance either. I knew some of my group had type disadvantages against his ground type moves, so I got a move that would make us immune to them," I smiled.

"Impressive. I'd almost forgotten that Mareep can learn Magnet Rise. Let's return back to town," Tyranitar smiled, me nodding and using the ice teleporter again to warp us to the Town Square, everyone around looking shocked beyond all compare upon our return.

"Whoa! Y-You actually did it! Team Snowfleece has saved the day!" Shiftry exclaimed in glee at seeing our group with Team IQ, everyone cheering at that happily and me looking at Roll happily.

"We're real rescuers now, Roll," I smiled at her as I then finally felt something... I finally felt every single one of my old memories return to me. Everything I knew from my past life was now in my brain, meaning I was finally able to remember who I was... and to be honest, other than the circus part, my story wasn't really a good one. Lost parents at a young age, raised in an orphanage, orphanage bought out by the circus, pretty sad stuff.

But then, just as we were all celebrating and I shed a tear at getting everything back... I heard a familiar voice. "Huh? Did you hear something?" Octillery asked. I then heard it again, but clearer. "Pokemon Town..." the voice said, me hearing it clearer and remembering the voice.

"It's Xatu!" I gawked.

"Xatu? He must be speaking to us with Telepathy!" Alakazam gawked. Xatu then spoke to us in our minds afterwards.

"Pokemon Town, can you hear me? This is Xatu speaking. The cause of the natural disasters is almost upon us!" he said, me knowing it was the meteor. "Falling to our world, the cause of all these disasters, a star comes. If it were to collide with our planet, immediate destruction would follow," Xatu said.

"Is there anything we can do?" Roll asked.

"Yes, there is one Pokemon I know of that has enough power to demolish a meteor that powerful," I smiled, everyone looking shocked at me.

"Who?" Blastoise asked.

"Rayquaza, the dragon of the skies. It resides high above us in the clouds in a place called Sky Tower. His power is the only one tough enough to destroy the meteor in question," I said, everyone looking at me in confusion.

"H-How do you know more than I do?" Alakazam asked in shock.

"I apologize... I'd rather not explain that until after the deed has been accomplished," I smiled. "As for how we get there, we have our mode of transport from Ninetails herself," I smiled, holding the ice in hand.

"We believe in you, Cher," Golem said with a smile.

"Yeah! You and Team Snowfleece are the toughest bunch I've ever met! You'll be able to climb the skies in no time!" Charizard smiled. Xatu then spoke again.

"The star's moment of impact will be in exactly 24 hours. I recommend that you get some slumber before you embark on this perilous journey, Team Snowfleece," Xatu said.

"You got it. We'll be super prepared!" I smiled at my group, all of us smiling at each other and doing a team handshake... as best we could, given our different-shaped hands. "Let's get ready for the grandest adventure yet," I smiled proudly.
