Welcome back to the latest chapter of 'Hoodini tries to actually make a story plan!' Hope you enjoy!

"Issei! You ready for your next mission?" Issei sighed quietly, before lifting himself up from his bunk and stretched his arms out to the sky. With an idol thought, he decided that three weeks of forced bedrest was up there in 'ways to slowly but surely go insane.' He yawned, before yelling back a reply.

"Yeah, as ready as I'll ever be…where's Snow at?" The nameless grunt shook his head, before pointing down the hall towards the main briefing room.

"Command said you'll be on your own for this one. Don't know much else aside from that." Issei let out a grunt in reply, before heading down the hallway. He almost dreaded to hear what his mission would be.

Can't be much worse than what my last couple of days have been, he thought to himself. He let out a forceful breath of air, before arriving at the doors to the briefing room. He muttered quietly to himself, before steeling his nerves and stepping inside.

"Fuckin' Khaos Brigade…"

~KI~

The sound of his alarm blaring woke Issei with a start, his breath coming out in heavy pants. He quickly glanced around his room, before slowly easing himself back down onto the plush mattress.

What. The fuck happened last night? He screamed out in his mind. A quick recount of his memories followed soon after.

The shopping. The eating. The memories made with Yuuma. Sitting at the park fountain with her.

Her shoving a blade of light into my gut… At that thought, his hands flew down to his stomach, and he quickly looked down, only to see his skin looking as normal as it usually was.

[Ah, you're finally awake.]

His head snapped up, eyes darting around his room, before he moved off his bed and into one of the corners of his room.

"W-who's there? Show yourself!"

[Calm yourself, Issei. And stop speaking aloud.]

That command did nothing to ease his racing heart, but he quickly decided yelling out at nothing would bring nothing but a sore throat. For a moment, Issei entertained the idea that he had finally cracked and gone insane, but the voice quickly dissuaded that train of thought.

[As odd as this may seem, you haven't lost your mind. I'm really another entity speaking in your mind.]

Who are you then?

[Ah, a human. It's been awhile since I've shown up in a pureblooded human. Although that does explain why I had to heal as much as I did after last night.]

Issei's heart stopped after hearing that, and he slowly slid down onto the floor of his bedroom. His mind was spinning, thoughts flying around his head at lightspeed, with one coming to the forefront.

Yesterday wasn't a dream…? I really got stabbed? Yuuma really did grow…wings?

[Oh, you're a pure one, aren't you? You have no idea what's out there, don't you?] The voice in his head sighed heavily but did not seem to be upset at the revelation. In fact, if Issei read the emotion in its voice properly, it seemed almost relieved. [Well, that saves the trouble of destroying any race bias…and it looks like I have quite a bit to explain.]

He nodded numbly, not trusting both his voice or his own thoughts to convey the message. The voice in his head seemed to clear its throat, before saying the sentence that would alter the rest of his life.

[I guess I should introduce myself then. My name is Ddraig, the Welsh Dragon and one of the Two Heavenly Dragons. A pleasure to finally be able to speak to you properly, partner.]

~KI~

So…you're telling me all of the different gods and factions from all the religions out there actually exist among normal humans, and on top of that, you're the actual spirit of a real-life, all-encompassing, all-powerful fucking dragon?!

[Essentially, yeah. And thank you for the ego boost.]

The sun shone brightly as Issei walked to school, speaking with Ddraig in his head. The past half hour had been…world shifting, to say the least. He lived in a world where Angels, Devils, Gods, and actual Dragons existed and walked among normal people!

Well, I guess I don't count as normal now, he thought quietly. He jammed his hands into his pockets and sighed. Then after thinking a bit more, he smirked. Well, I guess being the host of an actual dragon might be better.

[Ha! I'll agree with you on that.]

As he approached the school gate, he heard a commotion come from around the corner. He kept walking and turned the corner-

-to see a ball flying straight at his face! His eyes widened and his hand moved instinctively to catch it. He felt it hit his palm, and let out a sigh of relief.

Huh. Didn't think I'd catch that.

[It's because of your draconic side. Had to transfigure some of your organs to their dragon duplicates when I saved you, which to be honest, probably should've killed you.]

What?!

[Calm yourself partner. The fact that it didn't says a lot about you. I've been watching your vitals heavily, and if anything, your body is performing much better than it did before, which in turn, explains your reflexes.]

Issei sighed in relief at that and tossed back the ball to the still stunned group that was playing. Many around the courtyard saw the whole exchange happen and all were shocked to see Issei walk away unscathed without so much as a yelp of surprise! One of the boys caught the ball idly, and that set off the many students in the yard to begin talking about the quiet boy.

"What the hell? How'd he catch that? That was Tetsu's fastest throw and he barely just turned the corner to see it coming!"

"He was amazing! You all saw how he just put up a hand like he was expecting it the whole time, right?!"

"Looks like the Silent Prince has a few tricks up his sleeve…"

Issei, of course, was oblivious to this entire exchange, and calmly walked towards his homeroom. As he approached the school, he never noticed the figure watching from the second floor. They adjusted their glasses, before bringing up a communication circle, and spoke.

"Tsubasa, Tomoe. You both are in the same homeroom as Issei Hyuudou is, correct?"

"Yes Kaichou," Tsubasa spoke for her and Tomoe's sake. Sona could hear the unspoken question in the short silence that followed. Why the sudden interest?

"Tell me about him."

"What's there to say, Prez?" Tomoe asked. "He's very kind, and quite the cute looking classmate. He mostly keeps to himself, however. Other than that, there's not much to say?"

"Why the sudden interest?' Tsubasa had always noticed the quiet boy and thought him to be quite the interesting person. Most of the other male students in their class leered at them, and Issei would not only not do that but would subtly move positions so he would cut off any sightline between the student and the girl they were staring at. It endeared him to many girls within the class. "Do you want us to approach him and see if he's interested in joining the Council?"

"Not just yet," Sona answered. "Just watch him. Something's changed about him. If the need arises, I will approach him myself." And with that, she cut off contact fully, turning back to her game with Tsubaki. "Sorry about that."

Tsubaki shook her head, and softly smiled, before moving her rook. "I felt the change too. It's hard to ignore the overwhelming power that's basically leaking from his body. Although I do have to ask, why aren't we moving on him? What if he turns out to be a threat?" Sona didn't answer right away, electing to move her bishop to take one of Tsubaki's Knights. Tsubaki moved to answer this move, only for Sona to move one of her pawns in return. She gasped quietly, seeing how she was put in check. She looked up to see her King looking out the window once more, before she finally spoke.

"Because for some reason, I don't feel malice or anger from his aura." Tsubaki waited for Sona to continue, knowing she was more capable at reading auras than most other devils within Kuoh. Sona's eyelids lowered, but not out of fear or anger or confusion, although there was some confusion seen in her eyes. If anything, Tsubaki would say that her friend's eyes narrowed in relaxation, almost as if the tension she held in her body melted away.

"I only feel…protection. And it's almost as if his aura is reaching out. Searching for…" Then she felt it. She felt her aura reach out in return, seemingly on its own. And she felt his aura wrap around her, like a warm blanket. She watched as he stumbled, as if he instinctively felt what had just happened. And she watched as his eyes moved up and locked with her own. Their auras felt comfortable, familiar, and sent jolts of electricity through her body. It was something Sona had never encountered before, and one that, as embarrassing as it was to admit, Sona didn't want to let go.

"Searching for what?" Sona snapped out of her reverie, and turned towards her closest confidant, who looked towards her with worry in her eyes. Sona's eyes widened slightly, feeling his aura slink away, and she almost let out a noise of protest. She took in a deep breath, before answering.

"Searching for me." With her words, her pawn took Tsubaki's king. "The plan's changed. We have to make contact with Issei as soon as possible." She stood up, and strode towards the Student Council's club room, Tsubaki following close behind. She had never seen her King so unnerved. "Tsubaki, get in touch with Rias. Tell her that Issei Hyuudou is now under my watch."

And while this whole exchange took place, Issei stood quietly. He felt something. And that something warmed him like nothing ever had before. And as he felt something within himself snap into place, he knew from that moment that he wanted nothing more than to find that presence and hold it close. Within him, Ddraig watched with an interested gleam in his eyes.

[So you're an Aura user, huh partner…heh. Your life will certainly be an entertaining one. Let's see where we go from here.]
