A note from the author: I made a mention about this in my reviews, but I wrote this story when I was half asleep after having a dream. Don't expect me to rewrite it, don't expect any edits. If you leave a review that tries to simply put me down without offering any advice on how to correct my mistakes, expect it to be removed. Encouragement is appreciated as always, and critiques on how to improve as a writer or improve my story are happily welcomed. And finally, don't expect any kind of professional quality work. I'm posting on here for a reason and writing something that can't be officially published, what did you expect?

"Hey, Mom," Ruby said cheerfully as she stood at the crest of the hill where her mother's gravestone sat. A light summer breeze swirled through the nearby trees and over the grass, shifting Ruby's dark cape to dance ever so gently. Smiling sweetly she continued, "I missed you too. But now that Salem has been beaten and the grimm are no more, I think I'll be able to settle down back here at home with Dad."

From behind her, a respectful ways off, Ruby could hear her friends and sister giggle amongst themselves. Probably over a pub Yang had made at Weiss's expense judging by Ice Queen's shrill retort. The pitchy anger in the girl's voice warmed Ruby's whole body and even caused a slight blush to form on her cheeks. Mustering herself, she decided now was the best time to tell her mom.

"Mom, I want you to know that I'm happy. Like really really happy. Like, your cookies just dropped to second place happy." The wind seemed to die down ever so slightly as Ruby pushed on. "I'm sorry, but Dad always did say that I'd find something I love even more that your cookies. He just didn't expect what that was. You should have seen his face when I told him."

Taking a deep breath to steady her racing heart, and taking a quick look back at her friends, turned back to her mother's grave and spat it out.

"Mom, I'm in love." A sudden gust shook the trees and caused the leaves and grass to dance and sway for several moments before dying down. "They are super smart and always helped me with my homework. They are so damn... uhhhh, I mean dang... so dang attractive that I'm honestly surprised that they asked me out first and not the other way around. And you should see them fight. Mom, it's like watching a ballerina dance. They are so graceful and elegant, but powerful all at the same time. From what Dad has told me you'd almost think that she was your twin."

"Hey, Ruby, it's about time we head back," Weiss said softly, placing a gentle hand on Ruby's shoulder. "Your dad should have dinner ready by now. He'd kill us if we caused dinner to get cold."

"Just a minute longer, I'm getting to the best part." Ruby replied as she stepped aside enough and motioned Weiss closer to the gravestone. Pulling Weiss close by the hip, Ruby couldn't help but grin like a dolt as she turned her attention back to the smooth stone. "Mom, I want you to meet Weiss Schnee, my fiancé!"

Weiss's face burned red as she looked from Ruby to the stone and back to her fiancé. Smiling awkwardly, Weiss pushed Ruby playfully with her shoulder and muttered, "Y-You dolt." Coughing to clear her shaky voice and regain her composure, Weiss turned back to the stone and gave a quick curtsey. "It is an honor, Miss Rose. I wish I could tell you this in person, face to face, but I want you to know that you have such an amazing daughter."

"C'mon you lovebirds, dinner is getting cold!" Yang called out from where she was standing, much to Blake's embarrassment at the blonde's rude outburst.

"Oh! Gotta go Mom! Love you! Hurry up Weiss!"

Ruby rushed off towards her sister and Blake, the growl from her stomach slowly fading away in the wind as she grew further away. Weiss stayed behind for a few more moments, watching the spaz jump on her sister and tackle her to the ground... or tried to anyways. Seeing her fiancé smile and laugh made her chest tight and her heart burn with the same kind of affection that burned all those years ago when they'd first met. Turning back to the grave marker she bowed deeply.

"Thank you for having such an amazing and wonderful daughter. She's the best thing that's ever happened to me. I don't know what I would have done had I lost her in the fight with Salem, but I knew all along that I would have gladly given my life if it meant protecting hers. I still would, if needed, but I think we both know how truly powerful and awesome she is. I pray that you approve of this relationship and I hope that somehow, somewhere you can see how happy we are being together."

Lifting her head back up Weiss gasped momentarily, taking a step back in shock at the vision of the woman standing before her. Quickly blinking, and catching her breath she looked around confused. The woman was nowhere to be seen. Just clouds in the distance against the backdrop of the hill, their slowly changing form shifting from one indistinct shape to the next.

"Weeeiiisss! You coming?" Ruby called out.

"Yeah," she replied, looking around one more time before turning and strolling towards the woman of her dreams. Whispering to herself she said, "I could have sworn I saw... must have just been my imagination."
