Male: Oswald Cobblepot

Series: Gotham (TV show)

Oswald Cobblepot didn't think of himself as a 'good guy' in fact he was a bad guy. One who was on the up and rising to be a boss of other bad guys. So why he stepped in to help a young asian woman who was being hassled by some lowlifes he had no idea.

Maybe it was the fact that she looked so small and innocent corned by the four of them. Maybe it was the fact that they had picked on him when he was under Fish's command and he wanted revenge. Maybe he wanted to try being a 'good guy' if only for a minute. Either way it was with sick glee that he beat the crap out of them, enjoying their cries of pain until they stopped moving.

Deed done he moved to get on with his day, plans to be made, people to be killed, etcetera, etcetera.

"Ano, thank you for helping me!" Her voice was sweet and full of innocence, it made him grit his teeth as he forced a smile on face and nodded to her, wanting to be done with this and get on his way. He had things that needed to be done.

"No problem, just be more careful, Gotham isn't safe for people like you." He cast her a pointed look before turning away, ready to get back to his morning routine. This good smetanin thing was so over rated, no wonder why he never did it.

Black brows furrowed at that, "People like me?" What did he mean? Oreantials? Well, that was rude! Anger stoked she stalked up to the man who was shuffling away from her, a semi odd stride in his step, and grabbed his arm and huffed up at him.

"What do you mean people like me?" With a muffled groan he turned to face the young woman he had saved from some low level thugs and was ready to tell her to go jump off a bridge, he was at his limit of being nice for the day.

Yet the fire that swirled in her eyes made him pause and rethink. He was a man of instinct, he followed them and they kept him alive. When they told him to run he ran, when they told him to bluff he bluffed, hell when they told him to grovel he groveled. Anything to live another day.

So when they told him to take a breath and calm down he did so. "I meant people who are innocent and naive. Look here you are chasing after me because I beat up some thugs. Who knows if I was going to do it anyways? What if I'm worse than them? You can't just trust anyone with a smile on their face and some nice words. Not here." He paused to let her look around the street they were in.

Realization settled in her eyes, good she was finally getting it, giving her a curt he shrugged her hand off his arm and made to leave again. Hopping to never cross paths with her again.

He was halfway down the street when her heard her yell after him. Teeth girt he turned to glare at her. "What?!" He was done with this, with her. He had a meeting to get to!

Not at all taken back by his harsh yell she merely grinned up at him. "Thanks for the advice, and the help back there. But let me assure you I am fully capable of making good judgements when it comes to people's character. Yes, you're a bit rough around the edges but there's still some good left in you."

She ignored his snort. "Look, deep down you're a good guy I can tell. You're just a bit bent out of shape by your surroundings. I get that, everyone does what they need to in order to survive. Trust me, I understand. Just don't lose sight of who you are." Mind spoken she nodded at him and moved to leave. She had to find Wayne corps in order to deliver the papers her Nii-sama had sent her with.

How she hated having to do all the traveling for their company mergers while he sat pish posh in his office back home in Tokyo. Jerk.

"Hey!" She paused at the guys yell and bit back a smile as she turned to face him. "What's your name?" She couldn't help the smile from twisting on her lips.

"Kagome, Kagome Higurashi. Yours?" A tick of annoyance was apparent on his face yet he merely swallowed it down, might as well let her know who she was dealing with. Maybe next time she would be a bit more wary of strangers.

"Oswald Cobblepot." Names exchanged he nodded at her before shuffling away, hopping to never see her again. He probably wouldn't considering the crowd he ran with. He just hoped she'd be smart enough to steer clear of people like him.

Pep in her step Kagome continued on her way, making a note of her savior. "Cobblepot huh?" She could tell he was destined for great things, she just hopped they were good things...maybe she would stick around this town. It was obvious it could benefit from some of her touch...maybe her Nii-san was right. Maybe she was a magnet for trouble?

Oh well, at least it kept her occupied and out of his hair!
