Her heart beat had lost all sense of order and was now thumping violently within her ribcage, threatening to break its way through her tiny structure any second. The chair she was currently tied to securely with rope, scraped against the oak flooring of the house, leaving tiny scratches on the surface. Suddenly the rough fabric tied across her mouth began choking her, she gasped uncontrollably for air, her tiny fingernails clawing desperately on the arm rests.
Silently, on the other side of the room Sasuke watched the poor girl hopelessly panic, unsure of whether he should intervene or let her survive the initial shock of the situation by herself. He was no stranger the how the girl felt right now, which only made it even harder to watch.
Years ago, before Sasuke had found himself in this particular line of work, he too had also been taken prisoner. His older brother who had wrenched the chance of having a normal life all those years ago had come back. This time to finish the job it seemed. The psychopath was no longer satisfied watching his little brother suffer from afar, and had decided he wanted a more closer view. Sasuke remembered the day as clearly as he remembered the night of his family being massacred. It was the day just before he was to enrol into college, having achieved straight A's all throughout his education, it was safe to say he was heading for a rather promising future. He remembered his best friend, who had called him just an hour before, practically screeching about how he was so excited for college and the fact that they would share a dorm room together. Sasuke had allowed himself to get excited at that point, although he would never admit it.
However, college became a fantasy, and all his aspirations were shattered as he found himself tied to a chair, the cold air of his brother's cellar slapping him awake. It was at that point, Sasuke's life took a new path.
Sasuke physically shook himself then, he was not about to let himself drown in the downwards spiral of thoughts his brain was concocting for him. Not when he had a prisoner in his home. He had tried to ease the girl's tensions as best as he could. He had tied her to the warmest part of the house, the one with the brightest lighting compared to the rest of the house which was practically encapsulated by darkness. Although, when you're tied up and being taken prisoner by a random person who killed your father, you could be surrounded by teddy bears and still be scared shitless. Sasuke knew that. Although he wanted to just let her go and be done with it, it was simply too late. She had seen his face.
At last when it had finally seemed that her episode of shock had concluded, Sasuke dared to approach cautiously. She had been unconscious for hours, he needed to get her to eat something. 'What's your name?' Sasuke asked monotonously, while his fingers elegantly undid the tie around her mouth. The sounds of his deep voice echoed through Hinata's ears but for some reason she couldn't make sense of them. Her body was pumping full of adrenaline, and the only thing her body was focused on was survival, she could deal with the mental problems later. Vacant eyes responded to Sasuke, he analysed her features, watching as the fear took hold of every one of them. He decided not to press her for an answer right now, instead he moved to undo the arm ties, expecting some sort of violent reaction from her once she regained possession of her arms. However, there was nothing. Her hands remained in the same position, almost as if they were locked there. Sasuke handed her the bottle of water, growing impatient as her hand didn't stretch out to take it. 'Drink' Sasuke ordered.
Slowly but surely the shock had begun to wear off, she found herself regaining power of her own body, and she finally made sense of the babble which were of the boy's (or rather man's voice)who stood in front of her. She looked at the water bottle he held and and rapidly grabbed it, having finally realised just how thirsty she was. Sasuke stepped back a step slightly, surprised dare he say with the force she had practically ripped the object out of his hand with. Secretly he was thankful she drank it, he didn't want to have to pour it down her throat because she refused to drink.
'What's your name?' Sasuke enquired again, watching the girl who refused to look up at him. 'You're going to kill me aren't you' was the girl's emotionless reply, she still didn't look up at him. 'Doesn't it make it easier to not know the names of your victims?' Hinata asked, well rather stated, the feeling of anger and hatred for the man in front of her managing to manifest themselves into her tone. Sasuke inwardly flinched. His eyes widened slightly, he hadn't expected a response like that at all. Sasuke had never taken a prisoner before, having never needed to until now, but during his training he had observed others manage their prisoners. The prisoners always either did one of two things, they would beg and scream for their life or, they would refuse to eat or talk. It was rare to see someone acknowledge their most likely fate so easily, and do it in such a calm manner at that. Most would want to at least look at who it was who wrenched away their freedom. Not Hinata though. Her eye's remained transfixed to the bland wall in front of her. Sasuke almost admired her defiance, despite her being the one tied to a chair at the waist physically, he felt like she was doing it to him mentally.
'Do you want me to kill you?' Sasuke questioned, analysing how her lip quivered slightly despite her best attempts to show that she wasn't afraid of him. 'If you do it quickly' she admitted, her tone was echoing his own, almost mocking in a way. 'Don't you at least want to ask me why I did what I did?' Sasuke asked, curiosity getting the better of him. 'You killed that man, I was a witness, now you need to kill me too' Hinata replied in a dismissive nature, surprising the man in front of her with her understanding of the situation. 'That man?- aren't you his daughter?' Sasuke asked, he was beginning to get confused. ' Its better if you kill me now' was her reply, it was only then she fiercely stared into Sasuke's eyes, her grey eyes overpowering his dark pools. Sasuke almost smirked then. She was daring him to do something. Testing him even.
'You know if you keep bringing it up, I will actually kill you, I don't need a reason to kill if that's what you think' Sasuke stated. Technically he did need a reason to kill, in fact it was the only reason he hadn't killed her. Sasuke was pretty sure he was trying to convince himself at that point, rather than the woman in front of him. 'Then kill me' Hinata stated back. Sasuke mentally sighed, It was going to be a long night.
