Hey guys, sorry for the lack of updates hehe, I just had to find motivation to pick this story back up again. Quick disclaimer: thoughts are going to be italic from now on. I'll aim to update at least every week. Hopefully more if this gets more follows

Sasuke pinched himself. In front of him was an innocent girl who was of his own age, goading him to do what he did best. Kill.

All of a sudden, the light in the room flicked off and a flash of lightening lit the room, followed by booming thunder. Great, a fucking powercut. "You hungry?" Sasuke asked in a low voice, noticing the slight wince that escaped Hinata's mouth. Sparkling grey eyes responded to him with an expression that caught the Uchiha unguarded. Was she shocked? Hungry? No none of those Sasuke thought. She was... amused. She was toying with him, pulling on strings he thought didn't exist. The Hyuga girl was the one tied to a chair yet he was the one that felt uncomfortable and unsure.

"Just kill me" a feathery voice replied before grey orbs blinked downwards and Sasuke was left staring at the inky hair that seemed to be everywhere. "Shutup and stop feeling sorry for yourself" Sasuke responded harshly. "What do you want to eat?" he enquired firmly. He was a patient man, but this girl ticked something in him that was beginning to frustrate him. There was a minute of silence as the moonlight began trickling into the darkened room, before a response was finally heard.

"Can I just have some more water please?" the Hyuga whimpered. Finally, the fierce facade she had been putting up began to crumble and the reality of the situation had started to take its toll. Here she was, in a room with an experienced killer, tied to a chair and being asked what she wanted to eat as what would most likely be her last meal. The adrenaline had worn off and now she felt nothing but powerless.

Sasuke's eyes widened slightly. The innocent request along with the apparent fear curling itself in the small form in front of him stirred feelings of guilt within him. consoling someone when they were scared or upset was not his forte, nor did Sasuke ever intend it to be. "Sure" Sasuke responded as casually as he could, in an effort to ignore the fact that this was in fact a hostage situation that he had no clue how to deal with. Entangled in his own thoughts Sasuke left the room silently and made his way to the kitchen.

What have I done?

Slowly Hinata lifted her head and looked around the room. It was bear with nothing but herself in the centre and two balcony doors directly opposite her that beckoned the moonlight into the otherwise pitch-black room. She noted that they were padlocked and dust had began to settle on the white curtains that were draped across the doors. Is this even a home? The lack of furnishings made her question whether she was in a designated hostage holdout, but the elegance of the architecture suggested otherwise-Hinata saw the potential. She quickly snapped out of her thoughts as she heard a clink followed by the familiar creak of the wooden door she had heard before. Her capturer came in holding a bowl of steaming ramen noodles and large glass of ice cold water. He then bent down with a grace that did not go unnoticed by Hinata, set the bowl down on the oak floor and handed her the water. Without thinking Hinata found herself grabbing the cup with a force and gulped the liquid down to satisfy her thirst. Dark pools stared up at the little girl, and a smirk graced Sasuke's features as he proceeded to take the cup from her and hand her the bowl. "I'm not hungry" came a stubborn reply, followed by a light huff and Hinata's crystal eyes refusing to battle Sasuke's. Tsk, why does she have to be so... prideful

Sasuke left the room and returned shortly, this time however bringing a chair identical to Hinata's and placing it directly opposite her. He then proceeded to sit down, and handed the bowl over to her once again. "Don't make me feed you" Sasuke said, well rather ordered as petite hands finally took the bowl from him. "So what are you going to do? Just watch me eat?" asked a soft voice that tried to sound argumentative but failed. "I... uhh... well, no" Sasuke fumbled for a response. What am I doing? Shit. Inquisitive eyes looked up at him expectantly and Sasuke found himself just staring back. "If you're smart, you'd try convince me to spare your life right now" Sasuke stated, wary of the harshness that coated his words. "If you're smart" Hinata began as she swallowed a mouthful of noodles "you'd realise I can't convince you to do anything... only you have the power to decide that" she finished sternly, confidence slowly filling her voice once again. She's right.

Sasuke couldn't comprehend himself the reason why he could not find it within him to kill the girl in front of him. He wasn't necessarily a man of morals but he didn't kill without a reason. He had never killed someone who was still in their youth, nor someone who he deemed to be innocent. "You're smarter then you look" Sasuke scoffed in response. Hinata's eyes narrowed as she looked at the man opposite her, analysing him like a specimen, leaving even Sasuke feel on edge. He was handsome, there was no denying that; her sight lingered on the strong cheekbones that were only accentuated by the moonlight, his strong build and his messy hair that framed his masculine face. " Am I supposed to be dumb?" Hinata spat back venomously. Sasuke almost chuckled at that. How could such a small girl have so much spite? "Tell me then, what's the backstory between you and the guy you were with today" Sasuke enquired as he laid back on his seat, beginning to get comfortable.

What does he want to find out? "He was my father, and he... was taking me to... meet someone" Hinata responded warily. "So you must hate me now, no? I killed someone precious to you" Sasuke enquired, eager to determine the nature of this father daughter relationship. "Define precious" Hinata replied, her voice void of emotion. "hmm" Sasuke pondered carefully for his choice of next words. "My turn now" Hinata began, interrupting Sasuke's thought process. "Who are you and what's your name?" Hinata asked confidently, her tone did not flinch and her gaze was fixed upon Sasuke. Matching up to her confidence, dark pools stared back at her. "Listen princess, you don't want to know who I am, it might give you nightmares" Sasuke replied, his tone casual. Hinata gasped slightly. It made sense for her capturer to know her royal status, but the ease to which he said it caught her off guard. "I promise you, nothing can give me nightmares" Hinata shot back, grey orbs glimmering in the moonlight.

"I'm no one special, I just kill people for money that's all" the Uchiha responded light heartedly. "You got to this point in life somehow didn't you? I want to know your history" Hinata pressed on for some information. The fact that he knew about her while she knew practically nothing of him scared her. "I... wasn't always..." Sasuke began before looking at Hinata's expression. It was one of interest and at the same time he could sense the longing for an answer. "I was once like you" was all he said. Hinata slumped back in her chair in frustration for the lack of an answer. What does that even mean? Noticing her lack of approval at his response and the fact the princess had finished her food, Sasuke decided that there had been enough chit chat for one night. "I think its time you get to sleep" he said in a low voice before getting up to leave. "Wait, what do I... call you then?" enquired Hinata, she was too exhausted to prod him for information, but needed a name to the face before she could give up her body to slumber. Sasuke paused momentarily , questioning his next answer. "Call me... S" he responded, not wanting to lie to the poor girl, neither reveal his identity.

Just as Sasuke was about to shut the door behind him he felt a twang of shame causing him to look back at the vulnerable girl behind him. An image of his mother's disappointed expression haunted him for a second. He was raised better to know that leaving a girl tied to a wooden chair to sleep was not a manly act, especially when there were more than enough to rooms to accommodate the little thing. But she'll try escape. The princess looked up again, her gaze resting on Sasuke's expression in confusion. She had expected him to leave. Oh no. He's probably decided to just kill me. Grey orbs widened slowly, and soft pink lips parted in fear. "P-please I-I d-didn't really m-mean it" came a soft whimper from the princess. I can't die here, what about Hana-

"What?" Sasuke's deep voice cut off her thoughts abruptly. He was confused as to why she was suddenly so scared. Realisation settled in and Sasuke could only help but feel like an idiot. Oh. "Relax princess, its good news actually" he said as he approached her to undo her ties. Hinata relished the feeling of freedom in her fingers as they had began to feel numb from lack of movement. Suddenly free she didn't know what to do. Attack him? She knew there was no point. His frame would dominate hers in every single way; strength size, he had it all. The only thing she could do at this point was to obey. "Follow me" Sasuke instructed, although Hinata noted his voice was softer this time.

So... she followed.
