He didn't mean to snoop, he really didn't. His mom's business was his mom's business, not his, but the open envelope was very inviting, so, as any teen would do, hero-in-training or not, he opened the envelope and pulled out the papers inside.
"Oh my god!" He squeaked, quickly stuffing them back into the envelope. His body hummed with energy as he mechanically went through the motions of putting it back where he found it.
He fumbled for his phone in his pocket, sitting down on the couch before opening the chat for Kacchan.
'Oh my god.'
A few seconds of nothing, then a response.
'What?'
'Kacchan, oh my god!'
'Damn it, spit it out'
Izuku thought for a second, then-
'Mom is finally divorcing Dad.'
'HELL YEAH'
'She should have dumped his bitchass A LONG Time Ago
'She deserves this.'
'I KNOW'
'You think she'll remarry?'
Izuku took a quick second to think, but his thoughts slowed when All Might crossed his mind. There was no way. There was no-
"Izuku?"
His mom stood in the doorway, holding a mug of what he assumed was hot chocolate. He smiled up at her, hitting the power button on his phone to shut the screen off.
"Hi mom!" She handed him the hot chocolate and sat down next to him, folding her hands on her lap and facing him.
"Izuku, I was wondering if-"
He jumped as his phone went off. Kacchan was calling him. He slid the red button across the screen. 'Call declined' flashed twice before it went black again.
"I'm sorry!" He said, about to put his phone away, only for it to ring again. His mom gave him a small smile.
"It's fine honey, talk to your friend. I'll be in the kitchen." He watched her with wide eyes before rushing to his room and answering the phone.
"DAMN NERD. DON'T IGNORE ME!" came screeching through the speaker as soon as he hit accept.
"Kacchan, be quiet!" He hissed into the receiver, and held it gingerly up to his ear.
"So?" He said, quieter this time.
"What?"
"Do you think Auntie Inko will remarry?"
Izuku sighed. "You called for this?"
"You weren't responding to my texts."
"Of course I didn't answer." He faintly registered the doorbell ringing in the background, as he continued. "I was talking to my mom!"
"Oh. Well still." He huffed.
The door shut and his mom started talking in quiet whispers. He removed the phone from his ear, opening his door and looking down the hall towards the kitchen.
"I think I'll call you back." He said carelessly into the phone, ignoring the yells that came from the phone as he ended the call and exited his room.
"Fucking didn't even answer my question." Katsuki kicked the side of his bed. His mom yelled at him from the kitchen, and he grumbled, throwing himself onto the bed next to his discarded phone and staring at the ceiling.
He ignored the calls of his mother and turned towards his phone again. Some time had passed, without his knowledge, between the call and now, and his notification light blinked green at him.
'KAcchan!'
'It's All Might.'
'Mom's dating All Might'
They were sent 6 minutes ago, and Bakugo frowned at the time, before responding.
'Oh Shit!'
'Good for her.'
And wasn't that the truth. He was just down the hall the night Auntie Inko called his mom in tears because Deku's deadbeat asswipe of a dad walked out on her and Izuku. He watched as his mom angrily threw on a coat and grabbed the keys, before marching out to the car and leaving. She came back an hour later with Auntie Inko and Deku in tow and yelled at him and his dad to make sure the guest bedroom was ready. If Auntie Inko was finally moving on with her life, good for her.
'Yeah!'
'It was super awkward though because he's, you know'
'All Might'
'And our teacher'
'Yeah'
'But you're happy?'
'Mom is'
But not Deku? Whatever. He didn't care. He ignored the part of his brain that wanted to ask. It wasn't like it was his problem anyway.
'Cool.'
There was no response from Deku. Whatever. He shut off his phone and plugged it in.
