"Lives of great men all remind us
We can make our lives sublime,
And departing, leave behind us
Footprints on the sands of time."
-Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
Prologue: The Seeds of Chaos
All was quiet on the galactic front. Stars twinkled, planets and moons rotated, suns shone and space rocks floated.
And the force known as Chaos flew past them.
Chaos retreated hastily, back to the only other known location where it could stay and recover from its wounds inflicted upon it by the wielders of light. From its sworn enemy: the powerful moon wielder of love and justice - Sailor Moon.
Sailor Moon.
It made no sound, but if it did, it would laughed at the name, at the foolish and naive girl it fought against when it first encountered her long ago. But now it knew better than to underestimate her. She proved herself time and time again to have the upper hand, constantly beating the powers of darkness and nothingness with her own star bright enough to light up the galaxy. The universe, even. She even won their last battle with it even after it took hold of a former Sailor Guardian named Galaxia by reaching out to the prisoner trapped within her own darkness and bringing her back into the warm light.
Chaos would never forget how much the light scorched its very essence. It was as though the sun itself touched its faceless surface when Sailor Moon came into contact with Galaxia and evicted it from its host. It hurt so much that it jettisoned out of Earth's exosphere and into the blackness of space before it could be captured or spotted by anyone. But with its escape came a price - light and hope won...again.
It bristled in fury. It came SO close! So close to ruling over all of the worlds within the universe and destroying the Sailor Guardians! Now it was back to square one. It now needed to come up with another plan to spread its power across the starry plains. But this time...
It would NOT fall and Sailor Moon would be the one to fall.
It would just need time to -
Time...
Time!
TIME!
An idea hit the cosmic force like lightning.
And in an instant, it bolted towards its desired location, now more determined than ever to regain its strength. Once well rested, it could be on its way to the first phase of its plan. Seek out a new host, one with more power over the progress of life. Gain her power. Take hold of her and life's events. And then all would become one with Chaos.
All was quiet as it disappeared into the depths of the unknown.
But little did it know, it was being watched keenly and closely by an intelligence greater than it. It drew its own plan to warn the heroes of Earth that Chaos would return. The Sailor Guardians would be needed once again.
And this time... Earth would not be the only place in need of their help.
