It had been a long and uneventful night, after Daisy had taken watch from Chibs there had been no sightings of the undead or any survivors, being in the desert had some good sides about it but dreaded coming into contact with them eventually. Tig had been out for the count when it was his turn to take watch, he wasn't happy to be woken up but seeing that it was Daisy he gave her a pass.
The sound of chuckling was what had woken Daisy up that morning, a thin strip of light flooded into the room, causing her to bury her face in the pillow for a moment. She was laying on her side facing the window, her arm feeling heavy after being in the same position for too long. Lifting her head from the pillow she looked over to Tig, who was sitting in the chair by the window, looking at her with a smirk on his face.
'What are you laughing at?' she asks him as she wipes away the sleep from her eyes.
'Oh nothing, didn't picture Chibs as the snuggling type'
'What are you talking about?'
Turning her head Daisy looked behind her, Tig was right, Chibs had moved during the night and had his chest pressed against her back. She also found that his face was buried in her long, loose brown hair and that his arm was wrapped around her waist. She decides to have a little fun with him, slowly rolling to face him as she tries not to wake him, Daisy starts to softly touch his face. He fingers tracing his moustache and goatee, her touch makes his face twitch as it causes Daisy to giggle. The sound of her laughter causes Chibs to slowly open his eyes, she smiles back at him as his eyes widen in surprise.
'Morning beautiful' she tells him 'Didn't peg you for a cuddler'
Tig starts laughing, Chibs quickly pulls away from Daisy and lifts one of the pillows before throwing it at Tig. Daisy can't help but laugh when she sees the pillow collide with his face, she moves from her spot and sits on the edge of the bed.
'You hurt my feelings doll and I thought that we were friends'
Daisy starts to fix her hair, pulling it into a braid and out of her face. She never really cared how she looked before but after riding on the back of Tig's bike she hated being whipped in the face with her locks.
'We are friends'
'Then why did I find you all wrapped up in my dear friend Chibs' he tells her as he places his hand over his heart.
'Why? Are you jealous? We could have a three way if you like'
'W...what? Really?'
'Oh my god Tig! I was joking! I am a one man at a time kind of girl, thank you very much' she tells him as she rolls her eyes, finishing with her hair she decides to check over her backpack. Ensuring sure they wouldn't be leaving anything behind.
'So you do like guys?'
'Of course I like men Tig, they just don't like me'
Daisy doesn't look back at him and instead focusing on her task, talking about men and relationships was not an easy thing for her to talk about.
'Are you serious?'
'Yeah I am, can we talk about something else please' her mood changes, Tig can see it but tries to dig out more information out of her.
'I'm just curious'
'I just don't have the best luck when it comes to men, I am so bad at first dates, I used to be so shy and awkward. As I've gotten older, I find it easier to talk to people but it has been so long since I went on a date. It didn't bother me really, I liked being on my own for a while, I found out who I really was and got out of my shell'
'What about sex?'
'Tig!' Chibs warned him sternly.
'It's fine Chibs. I had a thing called a vibrator'
Daisy laughs as she looks at Tig's expression as his mouth drops open for a moment, before finally shaking his thoughts out of his head.
'Oh come on, what about hookups? Sex? Did you not miss that?'
Daisy rolls her eyes at Tigs prying, it was like being in a room with an oversexed teenager 'Not my thing, I tried it when I was younger but I don't know, I just felt empty and kind of used. It just made me feel more lonely, and that's all I could attract. I guess I have an old soul, I just wanted to fall in love, get married and have kids'
'Maybe you still can' Tig added.
'Maybe' she replies as her gaze meets his icy blue eyes.
'I think we should hit the road soon' Chibs adds, breaking the awkward silence in the air, he looks at Tig who just shrugs his shoulders and looks back out the window.
'Okay' Tig and Daisy both answer.
'Get something to eat as we'll be on the road for some time, we need to make up some time if we want to get to Georgia'
After eating more from the canned foods they had left, Daisy and the others packed up everything that they had with them. Daisy heads outside ensuring the coast is clear, watching carefully as Tig and Chibs pushed out their bikes from the room. This time Daisy decides to ride with Chibs, wanting to give Tig a break after almost crushing him to death. He didn't appear to be that bothered about choosing to ride with Chibs for the next part of their journey. They still had a way to go, they had to drive to Colorado and then from there they would be driving south. None of the group had any idea how long it would take them to get to Georgia, if their circumstances were different it would take them only a few days. But they had to take in consideration that they wouldn't travel at night, they had to find a safe place that they could bunker down for the night, how many zombies they may come across. Their route was carefully planned out, avoiding busy highways and cities. Knowing that bigger cities and towns carried too much risk but not just because of the undead but the living too. They had to be safe, there were people who wanted what they had and would do anything they could to get it.
'Are you guys ready?' Chibs asks as he looks over to Tig and then back to Daisy, who is attempting to pull on her heavy backpack.
'Ready when you are'
'Could one you give me a hand? This bag is heavier than I thought'
Tig climbs from his bike and walks quickly to Daisy, her back to him, holding the bags straps he waits patiently for Daisy to move her arm through.
'You good?' he asks her.
'Yeah all done, thanks Tig'
'Alright let's get this show on the road' Tig slaps her hard on the back before walking away and getting back onto his bike.
'Tig you dick that hurt'
Daisy walks over to Chibs, carefully climbing on to the bike behind him, she shuffles closer so that her chest is pressing against his back and her arse is comfortable before they set off. The engine roars into life and vibrates against her legs, Daisy places her hands onto Chibs waist as he kicks off the kickstand and pulls away from the hotel.
