Lucas was beginning to seriously annoy Verte. He behaved perfectly during their ride. Then, when the sun hid and the bike stopped functionning less than a kilometer away from the Breach, and they had to push the hovering bike until there, Lucas took the handles from her hands without a word and pushed it alone to the Breach. And when it began to rain, after Rose's call, he offered her his vest, getting himself in only a t-shirt under the rain. She refused it and put on her hoodie and sat on the ground, her back against the bike. She never got sick, and didn't care for the rain. But he sat next to her and still extended his vest over them, their bodies touching with his arm around her shoulders. She who never had a contact with the opposite sex. Or with anyone for that matter.

And it went on the next morning, when the hover car sent by the boss came to pick them up. Lucas stayed glued to her despite the heater and automatic dryer. And now, even if he behaved correctly in front of Verte's boss boasting about the advantages of cooperative inter-cities missions, he stayed very close to her. Not enough to touch her, but she could feel his body heat. He put on a polite smile to face the praises from the boss, a thin and very tall man with long, purple hair. Yes, purple. And natural, with that. This colour always gave nauseas to Verte, whereas her sister really loved it. Said it fit the blue eyed asian.

- So, I hope we will have the pleasure to see both of you collaborate on a future mission again. Verte, your sister and her friend are waiting for you in the break room. Lucas, do you want to call a cab?

- Thank you sir, I think I'll stay a bit in your city, I never set foot in it, see?

- Of course. In that case, you may go, both of you. Verte, I'm counting on you to help your colleague if he asks for it.

- Yes sir. Goodbye.

Lucas had half a smile seeing Verte jump when the boss prnounced the words "your sister and her friend". Of course, she felt he was curious about it. Sentry worked today, she was sure of it. So, who was with her sister ? An old preceptor maybe ? No, those people always had too much work. Verte grit her teeth while bowing in front of her boss. She didn't know his name. No one did. She got out of the room with a more and more curious Lucas and walked past Lila, her boss's sercretary.

The tall blue eyed blonde smiled nicely at them. She always was not-really-covered by her clothes, and if Verte usually thought she could wear whatever she wanted, this time it irritated her, even more when Lucas beamed at the girl behind her holographic screen. But there was A someone she didn't know with HER sister, and it went over the rest of her feelings in a second. She took Lucas by his arm and walked faster, nearly running in the corridors of the office, until she opened the break room. In a split second, her sight covered the room. Rose, sitting, with an uneasy smile. She "heard" her coming, of course. A man, standing next to her. Strangely tall for an asian. With blue hair. Wearing a simple white shirt and black jeans. But still less tall than the boss. She didn't like it. He threw a look to Rose before turning to Verte.

- Hello, I'm Kaito, Sentry's best friend. I understood she wasn't used to walk alone in the city, so I offered to accompany her when she stopped by Sen's bakery this morning.

Verte frowned without answering. A friend of Sentry's. His best man, even. She couldn't expect better from her friend. But she'd rather have known about it beforehand. She sighted and relaxed, a second after Rose who spoke up.

- Sen couldn't come with me, and he was really embarrassed about it. Nothing weird happened on the way. Kaito is someone polite, and he wouldn't touch me if I didn't want it.

- Meh...

- Woah, damn, what a lifeguard you are... do you let her breath sometimes or what?

Rose looked at Lucas, surprised. Then a big smile lit her face, and soon a hand came to hide her laugh as much as she could.

- Ah, sorry. My name is Lucas, I am also an operative, but from Westcity.

- Thenk you've had the pleasure to see my sister working ? Asked Rose with her ridiculously big smile.

- Yes, and I must say, Miss, that I wouldn't like to be put against her... even if I have means to run away.

- Hum, useful, I must say.

Rose shared a knowing smile with him, and Verte groaned while getting tea at the machine. Kaito cleared his throat.

- So, all three of you got powers if I got it right?

- Exact young man. You don't have one ? What's your job anyway ? Asked Verte.

- I... am working as an official in Network and Information. And, my power should stay under professionnal secrecy, so I can only say it's useful in my work.

- I hope you're not a human thoughts manipulator.

A toothy grin concluded Verte's answer, and Kaito suddenly seemed to want to disappear. Verte looked at Rose who was fixated on him, her mouth slightly opened under the surprise. Then, she closed it and smiled, shaking her head to her sister. Nothing like that, then. But an uncommon power. Lucas beamed.

- I don't know this city, what if we all went out, to get to know each other better ?

Rose had an embarrassed smile when she "heard" her sister thinking she didn't want to know anybody, but she nodded to Lucas. She was curious.

- With pleasure, I can't wait to know why you're nowhere near hurt after twenty four hourswith Verte.

- What ?! But I'm not hurting every single one I cross paths with, Rose !

- Ha. You knew that Sen described you so well that Kaito didn't want to go inside the office with me at first, in case he might see you ?

- Absolutely not, your sister tells nonsense, I don't even see why I'd be so afraid of you, she's seeing things...

But Verte chuckled. With her eternal toothy grin, this sound was quite strange, but she couldn't do anything if she frightened people each time she smiled openly. And, if Rose said that, it was because she "heard" it. And Kaito didn't know she could "listen" that way. Eventually, this outing might be fun.

- Okay, but I have to change my clothes, and eat, no way I'm getting out with an empty stomach. Lucas, you have something to change into?

- No, Madam, but I have money, you know ? I just need to go buy stuff to get out. Even, maybe Kaito could accompany me in shops he knows best, I'm not that good at shopping, you see...

- It will be my pleasure to guide you Lucas. When do we meet up ?

- Eat too, while you're at it. I'd say at six, come pick us up, I suppose Sen told you where we live, Kaito ?

- Yes.

- So it's perfect. Let's meet up later.

Verte hurried to finish her tea, then grabbed her sister by her hand before getting out of the room, waving to the men. She walked fast, but Rose was used to it and listened to her sister telling her mission. They arrived quickly to their appartment and Verte stopped right in the middle of her phrase, nose in the air, sniffing. She ran to the kitchen and got back with Sentry's bag Rose got the day before. She put her hand in it and stuffed a whole strawberry-filled madeleine in her mouth. She ate it, moaning in pure pleasure, stars in her eyes, then she got back to reality and turned to her sister who was getting her boots off.

- You went out yesterday.

- Yes.

- ... You wanted to tell me about it ? When ? The bag is all creased, something happened.

- I collided with someone in the street and collapsed in front of Sen's. Kaito brought me home, explained Rose.

- ... at least, this guy is able to take care of you. But what the fuck went into your head when you decided to go out by yourself ? You know you can't refrain from putting on music, and you know music prevents you do be aware of your surroundings. It could have been really worse, you know ?

- Yes. I'm really sorry, I won't go out alone again.

- Well... with yesterday and today, this Kaito seems to have plenty of free time... I'm wondering if he really works... I'll try and ask Lila what she can find about him, with her hacking talents.

- Verte !

- What ? I let him see you again, it's already something, isn't it ?

- He's a good person. You know I cannot be mistaken. And then, Sen wouldn't be friends with him if he wasn't sure he was perfectly clean. Trust him.

- Meh... I'll still do a little research, countered Verte, pouting. I wish I knew which power he had, and what he really does as a job.

- You're too curious, one day it'll turn against you.

- And you, you're not enough...

Verte held her phrase, and Rose got a little sweaty. She knew what her sister was thinking. And as she couldn't lie to her, Verte will be able to know what she knew.

- Who's he?

- A good person, anwsered Rose immediately.

- What does he work on ?

- Foreign country's affairs, mostly. But he uses classified information from other governments, we'd better not talk about it.

- And his power? Verte went on.

- I... didn't really understood.

The greenette squinted her eyes at her. She knew Rose was lying. Then she sighed at the same time as her sister. If the younger wanted to keep it as a secret, it couldn't be dangerous for her. Verte ate another madeleine, then put the bag on the sofa before pulling out her feet from her rangers.

- You're cooking ? I need a long hot shower. No fish and no cheese please.

- Okay.

Verte didn't like sea food. Or other waters' food. She loved cheese though, the smellier the better, but even she knew that it wasn't really well mannered to go on a double date with a cheesy breath. She stretched while getting up and left her clothes like a trail to the bathroom, letting them fall with each step. Rock 'n roll riffs resonated in the bathroom at the same time the shower began to pour, and Verte sang joyfully while getting under the scorching hot water.

Few hours later, a bell rang in the girls' appartment. They opened the door from afar, and Verte shouted to the guys to wait for them in the living room as they weren't fully clothed. That was a huge understatement. They were in their underwear, in the dressing room, panicking in front of their dresses, unable to know what to wear. Rose tried to reach the mind of one of the boys, and had to hold a surprised shriek. They wore suits !

She passed the information to her sister, who smiled, relieved, and picked a white bustier dress with a green frilly petticoat which could be slightly seen under the white fabric. The dress splayed from her hips, held by the petticoat, and slightly frowned to let her upper thight appear, the rest of the dress being knee high. She completed her outfit with black stockings, long fingerless black gloves, and a black italian hat bent on the right. Little black boots with red soles completed her outfit and she turned proudly to her sister, smiling.

Rose sighed, then went to the wardrobe and put on a strapped knee-high black dress with a V cleavage. She turned on herself, observing the dress' effect as it went up flying to her thights, showing the flashy pink other side of the fabric. Satisfied, she brushed her hair to let it fall completely, then put on vertiginous high heels assorted to the pinky side of the dress and crossed pink ribbons holding the shoes up to her thights, non-slip bands under the ribbons holding them in place.

Rose smiled triumphantly to her sister and they got out of the dressing room, finding the guys nervously standing in the living room. Kaito was nibbling his lip, very classy in his black pants and jacket, his shirt assorted to his hair under the suit jacket, blue sleeves rolled up on his arms. Rose took a sharp breath, hopefully unnoticed by Verte who was staring right at Lucas. The blonde guy had black pants and shirt, the only colour was his red tie. She was frowning seeing he had the exact same hat as her.

Verte sighed at the shared taste they had, and resigned to accept it and cleared her throat as the boys hadn't noticed them yet. Relief was quickly replaced by surprise in their eyes, and an amused grin pulled Lucas' lips when he saw Verte's hat. Kaito offered his arm to Rose with utmost chivalry and she took it, laughing. Verte shrugged, then, in a crazy imitating wave, she took Lucas' hand. He looked at her, surprised, but she shrugged again and dragged him out of the appartment, Kaito and Rose following suit.

While jumping in the gravityless hole, she saw Lucas' red soles under his dress shoes. Well, if he had the means to pay shoes like that for a simple outing while she had to wait two months before having enough, he had money all right. And seeing Kaito's work, the men would be paying tonight! Verte made a big smile to Lucas who looked flustered, then got out of the building, waving to get a taxi. The bars' district wasn't in the next rounding and there was no way that she would use her pricey shoes that much.

The taxi stopped in front of them and Kaito opened the door courteously while Lucas offered his arm to help them get on. They giggled to their exaggerated ways, and they laughed with them whiled getting on themselves. Verte gave the Corto's adress to the driver, her favourite bar, and the taxi got them there in less than ten minutes, using its own aerial ways. Kaito insisted on paying the ride, and the men whistled when they got inside the bar by its discreet entrance, almost invisible. The furniture there was in old, solid wood, the air smelled like beer, and metal music made a surprising ambiance in a city where almost all bars were places to dance.

The gruffy barman was so surprised to see his usual clients bring men that he gave them four glasses of Verte's favourit drink, the Pangalactic Gargle Blaster. She only drank it once a month, firstly because of its high price, but also because of the crazy amount of alcohol in this cocktail. Kaito and Lucas looked at their glasses containing a pretty shade of greenish blue liquid and took a sip at the same time. Verte reflexively put her hand on Rose's glass before she did the same. She never drank it, and surely didn't have the same resistance as the guys.

Rose looked at her sister, surprised, then turned to the men, seeing the attention she had for them. Kaito gulped with a big smile, putting his glass back on the counter with a satisfied "Aaaah!". Lucas was less lucky. He closed his eyes after swallowing, and avoided tripping thanks to Verte's careful reflexes. The greenette had an apologetic smile to her sister who sniffed suspiciously her drink. The barman began talking with Kaito and Rose while Verte helped Lucas sit on a bench behind a nearby table. She was getting up to get their glasses when he took her hand. Then pulled her to him abruptly. And tongue-kissed her, Verte's hat hiding them to the others' eyes.

She almost exploded everything in the bar. Almost, only. Because, she knew nobody saw her. Yet, if everything exploded, Rose would know. And then, Lucas was drunk. It may even not be premeditated. She took a step back, and looked right into his red orbs. He couldn't be more sober. The slightly red cheeked man ran his tongue over his lips with a suprised look. Maybe it awakened him. Positive point was that she wouldn't have to look after a drunk guy all evening. She got up and called to the other two to come. The outing just began, and Verte didn't want what just happened to weight too much on her. Even if Lucas' eyes didn't leave her for the entire evening.
