Kaito's Weakness
Kaito Kid stood on the roof of the Louvre, and held up the jewel to the moonlight. It wasn't the one he was looking for. Disappointed, he began planning how to return it to its rightful owners.
As he lowered the jewel, he heard the sound of a yoyo, and the sound of someone landing on the roof quickly followed by another.
Looking towards the sound he saw the famed superhero duo, Ladybug and Chat Noir. They were younger than he expected. At least two years younger than him. He smirked. They were only a couple of kids.
With a flourish, the gem disappeared from his hand, replaced with a flower which he offered to Ladybug. "A beautiful flower for the beautiful Ladybug." He said in French.
Chat Noir let out a quiet hiss, and Ladybug made no move to accept the flower. Instead she threw her yoyo in the air and yelled, "lucky charm!"
Into her hand fell something red with black spots, and the unusual coloring made it take a moment for Kid to realize what it was. When he did however, it caused him to momentarily forget his poker face because in Ladybug's hands was a large red and black fish.
Ladybug and Chat Noir looked at the fish, then at each other and shrugged. Kaito Kid tried to regain his composure, but before he could succeed Ladybug noticed his expression. A wicked grin formed on her face, and suddenly she was running across the rooftop with the fish.
Kaito Kid's eyes widened in horror, and he swore in his native Japanese, before he took off running. Yelling back, "What is wrong with you?! Who just chases someone with a fish?!"
Chat Noir just looked on in confusion, before he noticed something glittering on the roof. Curious, he picked it up, and discovered that it was the stolen gem. Kid must have dropped it when he started running.
Chat called out, "Hey L.B.! I have the…"
His voice faded to nothing as he realized that his partner was not paying the slightest attention to him as she chased the phantom thief across the rooftops of Paris while laughing like a mad woman.
"Oh well…" He muttered as he turned to return the stolen jewel to the authorities.
After a few minutes of running in blind panic, Kaito Kid came back to his senses long enough to make his escape. A smoke bomb and a costume change later, he made his getaway.
From his hiding place, he heard Ladybug's yoyo beep. She opened it, and appeared to be talking to it. A moment later she threw the fish in the air and yelled "miraculous ladybug!" The fish disappeared in a swarm of ladybugs, and Ladybug turned back towards the museum.
As his heartbeat slowly returned to normal, he reached into his pocket, only to realize that the gem was gone. That must have been why Ladybug quit so easily. At least he'd had the chance to check it before he dropped it.
With a final shudder, Kid decided that he would avoid Paris for awhile. "Why did it have to be fish?!"
