Just a short piece to advertise the Deputyverse on Spacebattles. In it, Taylor doesn't trigger, but still ends up working alongside multiple Capes.
The stories are the Worm AU story Internship (complete), the spin-off Deputy (complete) and its sequel Deputy Commander (In progress), Deputy's spin-off Aegis Must Die (currently on hold) and D.C's in-progress spin-off Emissary which this Omake references.
Yeah, it's recursive fanfiction hitting meta levels!

The alarm echoed through the mansion and in one particular room, Clark Kent bashed his head gently against the wall while while his wife patted him on his back. After several thuds, Clark pulled out his communicator and activated it.
"Another Portal?"
"Well, yeah…" Forge replied, his voice almost as full of resignation as Clark's. "This one's on the eastern seaboard, I've uploaded the co-ordinates and alerted the local teams. SHIELD's Helicarrier is nearby, but…"
"I'm on my way." Clark grumbled. "Prep a Mobile Door for me to take with me."
"Already pulling one out."
Clark gave the tray of food a longing look, then half-turned to see Raven Kent trying not to burst out laughing.
"I swear, it's like the multiverse has it in for our nights in." he sighed.
"Go." Mystique kissed her husband on the cheek. "I'll follow through the Door."
Clark nodded, then vanished in a blur of motion.
.
"Done." Leet stepped back as the metal frame filled with static-like energy. "It's as solid as I can make it… I may have to spend some time tuning it, I'm not entirely sure it leads back to your world…"
The bugs in the corners seemed to rustle as the Emissary looked at the technological device curiously, Weaver standing close beside her.
"It looks like the Slipgate your counterpart built." Emissary finally stated. "I have to ask, why the rust-paint? How does it affect the performance?"
"Ummm, it doesn't." Leet unwillingly admitted as he tapped at the control panel, then moved a couple of the sliders. "But it looked that way in Quake and from what you said, he built it to look as authentic as possible, so…"
"I'm reading energy fluctuations." Dragon said from where she was looming in the corner. "In fact… everyone back!"
Leet tripped over as he leapt backwards and scooted away from the Slipgate as the static intensified, then something came through, jerking to a halt.
"That looks like a probe of some sort." Armsmaster stated. "But it isn't one that the PRT uses…"
.
"Here's the probe." Mystique pushed the probe (with its dangling tether) and let it drift to Clark, who passed it to Reed Richards. As the flexible scientist secured it to the front of the control console, Doctor Octavius looked up from where he, Tony Stark and Bruce Banner were setting up stabilisation equipment around the oddly-static-filled Portal.
"Power it up!"
The Portal's edges stopped rippling and the three scientists backed away.
"Send the probe through!" Tony called. "Let's see what's on the other side!"
Clark gave the probe a gentle push and it drifted into the Portal, the tether tightening behind it to bring it to a stop on the other side.
"Getting some signal interference…" Reed reported as around them, several dozen SHIELD operatives finished setting up their portable bunkers and prepared to defend against anything coming through. "Compensating… compensating… we have visual! Looks like another one of the Protectorate realities, I've got a solid ID on Dragon and Armsmaster… but there's two Taylors, one in a Skitter-variant and the other… looks like a form of law-enforcement armour…"
"What?" Clark blurred to stand by Reed, looking at the screen. "Um, can you activate the holoscreen at their end?"
"Activating."
.
"What the…?"
Leet bit back on his exclamation as a holographic screen formed above the floating device, then a voice spoke.
"Greetings. Am I correct in assuming that I am talking to Dragon, Armsmaster and Skitter?"
"I go by Weaver now…" Taylor replied as the other two named heroes exchanged glances. "Who are you… and why are you wearing a Superman outfit?"
"Because I am Superman." The Cape on the screen smiled. "Ah, you would be Leet, correct?"
The Tinker nodded nervously and Superman turned his attention to Emissary. "And you are…?"
"You can call me Emissary." Rose Ellison replied.
"A pleasure to meet you. We've stabilized the Portal from this end, do you wish to come through or shall I come through to you? By your ratings,I'm a Brute 9, Blaster 8, Mover 10 and Thinker 7. Which side would you prefer me?"
"We'll send a delegation." Armsmaster instantly stated. "Emissary, what are you doing?"
"I'm the expendable one." Rose stated with a hint of bitterness. "Not from this universe, remember? Leet, if I don't return in thirty minutes, destroy the Portal."
"Um… okay?"
Stepping round the probe and its tether, Rose stepped through the Portal.
.
.
"What the hell did you think you were doing?" Chief Director Rebecca Costa-Brown almost yelled.
"My job." Rose replied calmly. "And with any luck, I'll soon be back in my universe."
Costa-Brown gave a choppy nod. "Well, at least it will get you out of my hair, but what about the other problems you've brought here?"
Rose looked behind her to the corner where Weaver, Skitter, Saurial and Scarlet Dragon were all talking quietly to each other, then she looked back at the fuming Director.
"Director, I have effectively dissolved the Undersiders as a threat, taken down Coil, fragmented the E88 and brought you the chance to make alliances which will allow you to to hard-counter every villainous cape known to exist, as well as taking down Scion. Even as we speak, Superman's ally, the entity known as Galactus is preparing to take action, his daughter Galacta will be coming through the Portal soon to guide his attack."
"And the fact that it gets you home isn't important?"
"To you, probably not. To me, yes, it is." Rose shrugged slightly. "Saurial has some of her allies working on building a Portal that will connect with my reality, based on my zero-space resonance frequency. Within a week, I'll be home again and probably acting as my namesake."
Costa-Brown sighed. "Master Zero, Thinker Zero indeed. Very well. For what it's worth, I approve. Good luck."

Danny Hebert opened the door and his eyes widened as his daughter smiled at him.
"Hi, dad, I'm ho-glrk!"
For a long moment, all Danny could do was hug the girl he thought had vanished forever, then he paused as he saw the group grinning at him from the lawn, some of them most definitely not human.
"Taylor…?"
"Um, they followed me home. Can I keep them?"
Danny face-palmed as the new arrivals burst out laughing.
