well, I'm back here with another story, many people have asked why I haven't updated the old stories, well, adulthood, depression, and doses of friendship, I might not be updating any of the previous stories since I wrote those when I was immature and still a teen, but I might be going back and editing them to make them better. This story? this story will be going on for a little bit, as Beastars has grasped my attention, perhaps unhealthily so, and so I've devised this story, from a fevered dream. my school experience of training to be a psychologist, and the wonder over, if you're put in a body which thrives on instinct, would you stay the same? All this to get an unhealthy obsession out of my head, since I've watched the anime 3 times currently as I wrote this, and read the entire manga.
Beastars is owned by someone else obviously, and this is considered a fanwork parady under copywrite laws.
He woke up, a tiny bit of drool covering the college desk his head was laying against. His eyes blurredly taking in the surroundings, the chicken beside him packing her thing- wait.. chicken? College? Where was he? He tried not to be panicked as he began to pack his stuff up, looks like it was some sort of free time, as weasels, foxes, leopards, and all sorts of animals were talking to each other.
"osi."
Maybe he could quickly run to the bathroom and sort everything out, obviously he's supposed to be here since nobody has freaked out.
"gosi."
He quickly got up-
"Legosi!"
Huh?! There's a small golden dog that looks like an anthropomorphic Labrador next to him who's grabbed his hand…
"huh..?"
Really?! All he could think up of was huh?!
"Where are you going Legosi?"
The dog must know him, he'd be suspicious if he said nothing and ran off…
"B-bathroom… yeah… I just really need to go to the bathroom..."
C'mon, buy it, he needs to buy it, please buy it!
"Oh… alright, hurry though, the next lesson's starting soon."
He bought it… quickly running out the door led to a spacious hallway, the bathrooms were obvious when he saw them, although the semantics of which one was male or female took a few seconds to confirm since the signs weren't human. Going inside, it looked like he was alone, stale scents filled the roo- Stale scents?! Quickly he rushed to the mirror, what greeted him wasn't a mostly furless ape, but a tall, lean, and hunched anthropomorphic grey wolf. His expression was neutral, almost lazy, despite the panic he felt inside, the only indication was his wide eyes, and his limp tail…
The anthropomorphic golden Labrador called him Legosi… he can't be… if he is… then that was jack… if he is, then how is he supposed to cope!? Is he supposed to fix society?! What about Haru!? Wait?! When even is this? there's no claw marks on his eye, and he's still in school, so obviously, he's not yet been labeled a predatorial offender yet… taking off his shirt and looking at his back, no scars there either… so this is before the drama club play… is this, before Haru?
He needed to recollect himself, for he found himself in a particular situation… is he still human? Outwardly no, but inwardly…
DEVOUR…
...obviously, a new body came with new instincts, he shoved them down with little difficulty, his own eyes looked at the cracked sink… is that really what carnivores can do in this world, or is it because of Legosi- my- our blood?
I suppose this is the first hurdle, the identity crisis… am I me, or Legosi? How did this even happen, why..? actually, it doesn't matter, the body is Legosi, Everyone will call me Legosi, I'll eventually identify as Legosi. It would be weird, especially for a teenager who's shown no previous problems to suddenly change his name. So I guess I'm Legosi now.
With my identity out of the way, the other issues that'll crop up… Melon, Tem's killer, All of it resolved due to who Legosi is, could he be Legosi? Could he… actually love herbivores, when every instinct of his new body while almost futile, tries to struggle against it…
Of course he could, humans have thrown instincts to the side, even to the detriment of themselves… What's doing it in a world where biology goes out the window and flies? Yeah… he could, but could he risk his life? For Haru, for a better society… He can't do the daunting task of changing this society… he doesn't want to. Let's just act like Legosi, it shouldn't be hard, He's already considered a weirdo, and he already knows his entire life story. Yeah, he can do this…
He could do this...
