Chapter 2: Rivalries
Ezion was about to go to the explore the Wild Area. He was excited, as this was his first time. He stepped into the Wild Area, and immediately noticed the scenery. The Wild Area was stunning, filled with pokemon and nature all around them. After exploring a bit, he settled on a camping spot next to a lake, and set up his camping gear, he got from his mom. He went out to train for a bit, and also to try and find some food for later. He shook on a tree, and gathered a bunch of berries to store. While he was gathering berries, he noticed a pokemon on the ground, crying, and decided to go help it. It was a young Toxel, that was crying next to a berry tree. Ezion put two and two together, and grabbed the Toxel some berries. The Toxel ate the berries, and Ezion was about to head back to the camp and make some curry, but the Toxel had grabbed onto Ezion's ankles. He figured that Toxel wanted to come, so he took the young Toxel back to camp. Along the way, he also named the Toxel, Toxiburst. He sat Toxiburst into the tent, and grabbed some of the more spicy berries, such as Cheri berries, Leppa berries, and Tamato berries. He threw some pasta in, and stirred the curry. The smoke went into the night sky, and the fire burned brightly. Through the faint light of the fire, he noticed another person, a girl with short, blue hair, tied into a bun. He lit a stick, into a torch, approached the person, with Shrednaw by his side. The girl seemed startled by Ezion, but calmed herself.
"No need to be afraid. I noticed you seemed lost. Wanna come to my camp?" Ezion said.
"Oh, yeah. This Wild Area sure is big, and I'll accept your offer. I see you've cooked something up." The girl said. They ate the curry, and Ezion learned the girl's name was Whimeia (Whim for short), and she was also taking part in the gym challenge. Whimeia was about to go to sleep, when Ezion said
"Hey, before we hit the hay, wanna have a battle?"
"Of course! Extra training is always great!" Whimeia said, with confidence.
"Oh, then you're on!" Ezion said back. He decided to use Sandacoil, and Whim used a Litwick. This would be a 2v2 battle, and a start of a great rivalry.
"Sandacoil, use Coil!" Ezion said. Sandacoil's attack, defense, and accuracy were all raised as an effect by this.
"Litwick, use Fire Spin!" Whim said, to try and whittle down the Silicobra. What she didn't know, is she just activated Ezion's trap card. First, Sandacoil's Sand Spit kicked in, and the Sandstorm came flying in. Next, is she burned Silicobra, which is normally a good thing, but Sandacoil has a move, called Facade, which doubles power, if Sandacoil gets a status condition. And since he was burned, and his attack was boosted by Coil. So he went straight to hit Litwick with the Facade, nearly killing it.
"You just activated my trap card. Now finish this with Bulldoze!" Ezion commanded. And Sandacoil did just that. The Litwick was taken out, and Whimeia knew she had to be more strategic, if she wanted to win. She sent out her second pokemon, which was a Togepi. Ezion knew not to underestimate anyone, as he would get too arrogant and overconfident, and lose. Whimeia used Ancient Power, and was lucky enough to get the stat boost. Now Ezion knew this Togepi was a threat, so he went in for a Facade, but Togepi dodged it and got a yawn off, meaning Sandacoil will go to sleep any second now. He knew this, and utilized his time while Sandacoil was still conscious, so he went for a Bulldoze, lowering Togepi's speed. Then Sandacoil fell asleep, and was taken out by a couple Ancient Powers, but wasn't lucky enough to get a stat boost from any of them. Ezion sent out his final pokemon, his ace Shrednaw. Shrednaw roared into the night sky, and was ready to fight.
"Shrednaw, use Crunch!" Ezion said. Since Togepi lost it's speed boost, it couldn't avoid it, and took way damage than normal, because it's normal not very effective, but it's neutralized by Shrednaw's Strong Jaw ability. He continued to put pressure on Whimeia, and went for a Razor Shell, which hit while Togepi was falling down, and launching it into a wall. Togepi fainted, and the battle was over.
"Hey, that was a great battle! I definitely underestimated you." Whim said.
"Yea, that Togepi definitely caught me off guard. Anyway let's get some rest." Ezion responded, and they all slept in their tents, till the very next day (and he waddled away, waddle waddle. Till the very next day, BOM BOM BOM. If you don't know this reference you haven't been on the enough interenet)
Morning
They woke up in the morning, and went their seperate ways. Whim had already gotten the water badge from Hulbury, so she was on her way to Motostoke to challenge Kabu. She said goodbye, and left camp after breakfast. Ezion was now determined to get in front of Whim, so he quickly packed his stuff, and grabbed his pokemon. However, just as he was about to leave, he noticed the Toxel, again hugging his ankle.
"Huh? Oh, so you wanna come with me as well Toxiburst?" Ezion asked. The young Toxel showed a happy look on his face, which Ezion took as a yes. He caught the Toxel, and went off to Hulbury...
