The Tournament of Elements 2.0
Chapter 2 : Only One Can Remain . . .
Previously on The Tournament of Elements 2.0 : Charlie was simply talking to his family at the Noodle House in Ninjago City, when Eyezor appeared and left a message out back for Charlie, and he shows it to his cousins Nina and Eric, and his friend Siddie, shortly after the thugs leave the Noodle House, Xavier and Princess Lydia show up, and Charlie tells them that they need to meet at the docks of the city at midnight, while at his house, Charlie finds some sort of ninja suit similar to the one his father wore when he was inside the Prime Empire, after changing into the suit and leaving his house, Kai walks into his room and finds the note, immediately realizing it was Master Chen, he heads to the docks to warn his son about what he's getting himself into, Charlie telling him his sister was in danger on that island, Charlie goes to the island with his friends, and so does Kai, not worrying about how long it will take for the others to realize Chen is back as well, with Charlie's mysterious friend Richard appearing on the ship, and the new master of metal, already an enemy of the Young Ninjas, as well as Kai returning to the island with his son to find the Master of Fire, Felicia, locked away in Chen's prison, If Kai doesn't rise up to defeat Chen once again, then only one will truly remain, and that, will be . . . Chen.
On the ferry approaching Chen's Island, Charlie and the rest of the friends, as well as his father, can't do anything but look how ominous the palace on the island looks.
Siddie : Oh my gosh
Eric : That is amazing
Richard : Awesome . . .
Kayla : Well let me see then.
Kayla then grabs Richard to try and move him out of the way.
Richard : Do you mind?!
Kayla then gets into a stance to fight Richard, but the guards on the island grab their attention, as well as the doors to the palace open as the ferry stops.
Clouse : Well welcome to Chen's Island, and the Tournament of Elements 2.0 certainly welcomes the brave, and young fighters.
Eyezor : Master Chen will certainly be pleased about your return, Master Kai . . .
Kai : The pleasure is mine Eyezor, and the Tournament isn't even the reason I'm here, and you know that.
Eyezor : We will certainly see about that, Master of Fire.
Nina : I'm definitely sensing a weird tension between you and those guys, uncle Kai.
Eric : and may I ask how the creator of Ninjago's most popular noodle house is assembling an underground fighting tournament . . . again.
Kai : Master Chen was originally a friend of your ancestors, but now a traitor, during the Serpentine Wars, Chen turned against the Elemental Alliance and his own kind, and assigned a deal with the Anacondrai General known as Arcturus.
Charlie : So the battle he originally fought together in with the Elemental Masters, he became an enemy?
Kai : Chen turned against his own kinds because he thought it would allow him to get control of Ninjago, not The Elemental Alliance, not the Anacondrai, only him, and Clouse aided him on his plans, but that was almost 60 years ago, and after Chen's plan was foiled, and the Elemental Masters realized he had played both sides in the Serpentine Wars to suit his own purposes, he was banished and was never permitted to leave this island.
Princess Lydia : I remember my father telling me about that, but how is it my grandfather knew so much about this place, if he originally never told my father?
Kai : Because before Master Chen became Garmadon's enemy . . . he was his sensei.
The Elemental Masters then went inside the palace and were waiting for Master Chen
Princess Lydia : I don't remember my father telling me anything about my grandfather having a sensei.
Charlie : Or when you betrayed our parents.
Kai : when Garmadon was a teenager and the blood of The Great Devourer had remained to slowly consume him, he had dark mark on him when he left to train under Master Chen, and for the short time I betrayed my friends to get close to Chen's staff, he not only told Garmadon, but also told me how to win at all costs no matter who I would hurt in the process, it wasn't until I was able to show to light to Skylor, and she did the right thing to help us win that day and get our powers back, she lost them for a few years due to Chen capturing her and I to use all of her powers to complete the spell, and at the Corridor of Elders she came to fight alongside us all to teach Chen a lesson, and the spell that turned her into a snake wore off, and Chen was banished to the Cursed Realm, before Nya drowned it off the coast of the Stixx Village that is.
Eric : Well apparently one thing Master Chen didn't tell either of you was how to have a sense of humor.
Nina : Eric, that's enough.
Charlie : Dad, is my grandfather really this dangerous?
Kai : Trust me when I tell you this son, he can always be more dangerous, than he truly sounds.
Eric : Yea, well right now were in an underground fighting club, so for me it's supposed to be fun.
Richard : Idiot . . .
A few seconds later, music starts playing and Clouse tells all of them to rise for Master Chen
Kai : get ready for this Charlie, because your about to see your grandfather.
Charlie then stares straight ahead to see Chen coming down on his Chair which has several buttons on the armrests
Master Chen : Welcome everybody to the Tournament of Elements 2.0, and now everybody can all die!
The door behind them then slams shut scaring everybody except Kai.
Master Chen : Now direct your attention to me, *laughs*
Kai : I forgot to mention that Chen has a twisted sense of humor.
Master Chen : Only one time before on this very island had so many elemental masters been under one roof, I can see the Masters of Water, Earth, Shadow, Wind, Speed, and even the Elemental Master of Amber, who happens to be my own grandson. . .
Master Chen : And my son in-law as well as former comrade has returned, Hello Kai, pleased to see you return to my island.
Kai : The pleasure is mine Chen...
Master Chen : I'm sure it is "Old friend".
Master Chen : This symbol on this gong represents the Anacondrai, fiercest warrior to have ever roamed this land, and it's meaning, "Only One Can Remain . . ."
The servant then hits the gong to reveal the Tournament's bracket with each of the kids in a different match, so they wouldn't have to fight each other, at least not yet.
Charlie : So were each in our own match, we won't have to fight each other until the Round of 8.
Princess Lydia : Well we better find Felicia before that happens.
Master Chen : And behold, a Jade Blade, here on the Island the Jade Blade represents life, you obtain it you move on, you allow your opponent to take it, loser, every single match will be different, nor two fights will be same, your elemental powers will keep you in the tournament use it or lose it.
Kayla : and what does the victor win?
Master Chen : Win, you stay on the island, win it all, you receive fortunes behind your wildest dreams, and of course a lifetime supply of noodles.
Kai : Chen, you know your daughter owns the Noodle House now right?
Master Chen : Actually I did not.
Eric : Awkward . . . .
Clouse : Each of you will now be shown to your rooms.
Chen's jesters then came in to start taking each elemental master to their quarters.
Kai : Okay Charlie, I will see you soon, but remember what I told you, and remember, never lose focus in a place like this.
Charlie : I won't Dad, and I will make sure to keep an eye out in this place.
Charlie then hugged his father and left Chen's throne room, and just as Clouse was about to grab Kai and drag him out of the palace, he turned around and started talking to Master Chen
Kai : So, you escape the Departed Realm, lure my niece, nephew, and my son onto your crazy island, and capture my daughter? What's your game this time Chen?
Master Chen : My game, is nothing but to live on my Island and enjoy the new Tournament of Elements, and I never did give you my blessing to marry my daughter.
Kai : You were dead, so I didn't have to ask, and even if you were still alive, I wouldn't have asked you anyway, you were never truly Skylor's father, and the threats and pain you sent her through in the first tournament proved that, and If you really think televising the Tournament across all of Ninjago is gonna help your plan, then your insane.
Master Chen : My greater plan will be revealed to you and my grandson in time, as well as Felicia, but not now, there's too much at stake, and it won't be long before just like with your friends, the kids will soon fall apart also, and since there's 7 of them, they will be forced to fight in the Round of 8, and since I haven't taken anybody's powers yet, you may be in the tournament as well, I mean your quarters is still up there.
Kai : Well if it means keep the kids out of trouble while were stuck on this island, then so be it.
Master Chen : Very good then, you remember where your quarters is, the first challenge will commence shortly, though you won't need to participate in that Challenge because there are still 16 fighters.
Kai : Same first challenge as last tournament I'm guessing?
Master Chen : Yes, and I will see you when the Challenge begins.
Kai : Alright . . .
Master Chen : and Kai, I don't care if this doesn't excuse everything I did, but for what it's worth, I'm sorry.
The Young Ninja's are then in each of their quarters with Kai going to his, and each of the Young Ninjas are enjoying it, except for Charlie.
Richard's Quarters
Richard walks out on the balcony and sees his Is next to Siddie's Room, as he sees her standing on the balcony as well.
Richard : Hey there Siddie.
Siddie : Oh, hi Richard.
Richard : You interested in the Tournament of Elements?
Siddie : Perhaps, though I will say the bed that's made of rock isn't the best thing in the world.
Richard : Your bed is made of rock?
Siddie : Yea, though considering I had to once sleep in the bathtub at my house, a stone bed is an improvement.
Richard : Well, it's nice to see you look on the bright side of things.
Siddie : Richard, ever since we got here you have been keeping to yourself, are you Okay?
Richard : Yea, I would be better if I still had my parents, I know my father did bad things, but on the Day of the Departed, he saved your father, and redeemed himself, he jumped through the departed rift just as it exploded, which is why nobody saw him, then again they were distracted when they saw Cole was still alive, my father escaped to Stixx Village since he was mortal again, and remained there most of his life, I'm not sure if he enjoyed it, but after I was born he was happy for quite some time, then not so happy, then that earthquake leveled half the village, and my father down with it.
Siddie : I am sorry for your loss, but much like your father, you have the honor to do the right thing, like you did on the boat on the way here, trying to help me, I see that as a noble act.
Richard : Thank you, I just hope Charlie will be okay, he was my first real friend in this world, and what's going through his head, meeting his grandfather and his sister being captured, I just hope in the end everything will work out for him.
Siddie : I'm sure it will, and I'm sure things may also work out between you and me.
Richard then looks at Siddie and smiles, knowing she just said she liked him for his actions, helps Richard see that he made another friend today as well.
Eric's Quarters
Eric : This is pretty cool, almost as cool as the view of Ninjago from here.
Nina was playing a video game in her room, before stepping onto the balcony and she starts talking to her brother.
Nina : You okay Eric?
Eric : Yea, I'm fine, I just hope we can find our cousin then get out of this place, but everything our uncle Kai has told us so far, makes me thing this island definitely has something to hide.
Nina : That may be, but as long as we both stay together we can make it through this, I'm your twin sister, and your my twin brother, we stay beside each other, and there will always be hope on this island, always . . .
Eric : Thanks Nina, I needed that.
Nina : Of course.
Xavier's Quarters
Xavier : Ninja Face-Off never seems to get old, I wonder what my parents would think of this island if they participated in the tournament, since my father never did, and my mother was scraped at the time.
Xavier : Oh well, my assumption is that this tournament will get harder as it continues, and my logic states that we will emerge victorious if we stay together every step of the way.
Princess Lydia's Quarters
Princess Lydia : This is pretty sweet considering I haven't been this far from the palace before.
Lydia then looks near her bed and looks at the picture she had of her standing with her family at the royal palace, she then looks at the picture of her standing with her friends, then looking at herself in the mirror with her ninja suit, hoping that even though she is the Princess of Ninjago, she can still be as good as a green ninja as her father was
Princess Lydia : don't worry Felicia, we will get you back.
Kai's Quarters
Kai : Last time I said I could get used to this, now i'm not sure if I ever will get used to it.
Kai then walks onto the balcony and sees Charlie is in the quarters next to his, and he stares at the view of Ninjago from his room
Kai : Hey son, you okay?
Charlie : Oh yea Dad, I'm fine, I just don't know what's wrong with me, what's going through my head, my cousins seem to be enjoying themselves in this place, Mom doesn't know where we are, Felicia is still missing, my grandfather is televising a new tournament of elements all across Ninjago, and I don't know how to tell Princess Lydia how I feel about her.
Since Lydia's room was directly above Kai's, she could hear everything Charlie just said, and he jumped down onto Charlie's balcony to talk to him.
Princess Lydia : What I did on that boat showed you I feel about you Charlie, saying that you would always be there for me in my time of need, especially now, helped me realize that I should consider myself one of the luckiest people in Ninjago to have to you as my friend.
Lydia then kissed Charlie, which he returned, and for the first time, Kai didn't look away in disgust, Charlie and Lydia telling each other how they felt shows Kai they are both closer to unlocking their true potentials, since Charlie so far has shown signs of overcoming what held Jay and Kai back, he just needs to overcome what hold's him back.
Kai : If you want my opinion Charlie, I think you two are perfect for each other, even though for both six and seven years old, in my opinion, finding a love interest is one of the best things in life, It was for me when I met Skylor, and when it seemed like Lloyd started thinking about finding a love interest, he was still nine years old before the effects of the Tomorrow's Tea at the time, and if nine years old isn't too young to find love in this world, I doubt six and seven aren't too young either.
Charlie : Thanks Dad, I needed to hear that after everything that's been happening in the past 2 days.
Princess Lydia : I know your grandfather is up to something crazy Charlie, and with your sister captured and your mother not knowing where you are, I can't imagine what must be going through your head in your darkest hour, but I just want you to know, whatever happens, I will be here for you, every step of the way, because I love you Charlie.
Charlie : I love you too, Lydia.
Charlie and Lydia then kissed each other with Kai smiling, he was happy that his son was overcoming what held himself and Jay back, but he needs to overcome what holds him back, and so far, it seems like the one thing holding him back, is his grandfather.
Just as Charlie and Lydia parted from their kids and held each other's hands, the tournament's music began playing on the loudspeakers, and Chen started to explain the first challenge.
Master Chen : Hello, young elemental fighters, scattered around the palace are enough jade blades for every fighter except one, and whoever returns to the palace throne room empty handed, loses, and is out of the tournament, prepare yourselves.
Kai : Hey Look
Charlie and Lydia both looked up and saw a jade blade on the balcony of Lydia's room
Charlie : Is that a Jade Blade?
Master Chen : The Tournament begins . . . .
It Turns out that the adults were watching the tournament at the Royal Palace in Ninjago, but they were confused by what they were seeing
Skylor : What the heck is this?!
Jay : It's your son, that's what it is.
Lloyd then hit Jay in the back of the head, because now wasn't the time for jokes.
Jay : Lloyd, that was rude.
Lloyd : Well excuse me for not wanting to listen to your stupid jokes.
Opal : Stop arguing, both of you!
Master Chen : NOW!
Richard : Now?
Kayla : It seems like this room could use some heavy hitters, time to test your Metal, Richard!
Siddie then walks out into the hallway, but since she just ate she can't fight because of her full stomach, and neither could her father.
while Nina and Eric are in the hallway dealing with the rest of the elemental masters with Princess Lydia.
Charlie was outside in the garden searching for the Jade Blades.
while Kai was inside making sure Clouse and Eyezor don't cheat.
Richard had just entered the hallway with Kayla chasing him, while he was also trying to help Siddie to make sure she wouldn't lose
In Ninjago, the adults are still shocked and confused about what their seeing, but all they know is what their watching, is on live, meaning it's happening right now.
Siddie : I Can't fight these guys on a full stomach.
Siddie then notices a Jade Blade sitting on one of the planters
Siddie : Nice.
Then from the balcony where the rest of the kids were fighting, The Master of Speed, Trey, notices Siddie was going to grab the blade and he ran down the stairs and took it first.
Trey : Slower than a snail rocky girl!
Siddie : Hey!
Upstairs with the rest of the elemental Masters, Eric just got his Jade Blade and was running towards the Throne Room, while Nina was about done finishing the elemental masters and grab the Jade Blade, when Eyezor starting throwing shurikens at her.
Nina : What the?
Kai the runs up to Eyezor and tackles him to make sure he doesn't cheat
Kai : Hurry up Nina, you cannot lose!
Nina : I won't I will make sure of it.
Nina then shocks the rest of the fighters, with Lydia fighting against the Masters of Shadow and Poison and her movements were similar to the motions of spinjitzu, and Kai was noticing.
Princess Lydia : Why can't I catch a break in a time like this.
Kai : Focus Lydia, you need to pay attention to what you're doing.
The Master of Shadow, known as Shane begins trash talking her while she was fighting the Master of Poison.
Shane : Oh please what good can The Emerald Princess of Ninjago do in a fight.
Princess Lydia : How about I show you.
Princess Lydia's last hit on Shane was the last of the movements she was going through, and Kai saw she suddenly became a green tornado, meaning Princess Lydia had learned Spinjitzu, surprising Harumi and Lloyd.
Shane : What the heck just happened.
Princess Lydia : you saw that there's more to me and just being a Princess, Ninja-Go!
Lydia then knocks down the Masters of Shadow and Poison and takes the Jade Blade and heads for the Throne Room, with Siddie taking down the rest of the Elemental Masters downstairs with Richard, with Opal paying very close attention.
Siddie : *grunts* the Jade Blade is Mine! Oh stupid stomach cramp.
The Master of Light sneaks up to her and takes the blade.
Siddie : Hey Stop! you stupid Jade Blades, *punch* ouch!
Siddie then uses her powers and punches the ground kicking dust up and revealing where the Master of Light was, Richard then runs up and uses spinjitzu to take the blade.
Richard : Awesome, Ninja-Go!, Got it, here you go Siddie.
Richard then notices another Jade Blade hanging on the roof and he grabs it.
Siddie : Were good for now, Let's head to the throne room.
Richard : No argument there.
Clouse : Only two of the Jade Blades are remaining.
Nina : Hey I got One!
Eric : Nina!
Xavier : You made it!
Nina : Where's Charlie?!
It Turns out there is only one Jade Blade remaining and it's either Charlie or Kayla who will remain in the Tournament.
Charlie Ignites his powers with Fire, and Kayla completely turns into Metal, doing nothing but stare into each other's eyes for one straight minute, but what Kai, Charlie, and the rest of the kids don't realize, is that Chen is currently broadcasting the Tournament on live television, and in Ninjago City at the Palace, Lloyd and Harumi called the others, telling them they knew where Kai and the kids were, and when everybody got there, they showed them the Tv, which showed Charlie and Kayla staring at each other.
It was a fight that lasted about 30 seconds before it was cut to a Commercial
Nya : Okay, what did we just see?
Jay : Well it was .. .
Skylor : Do not say it!
Then Shortly after the Commercial ended it showed Kayla walking into the Throne Room with what looked like the final Jade Blade.
Kayla : Kayla is the winner!
Then the Camera faced Kai and the rest of the kids looking concered.
Skylor : Wait what?!
Charlie then approached Kayla and unscrewed the the metal fist that was holding the Jade Blade from her hand
Kayla : what?
Charlie : It seems like you got a screw loose!
Kayla then gets angry as Charlie grabs the last Jade Blade off the floor, and runs over to the Statue where the other Jade Blades are and places the last one, with the elemental masters cheering for him, and his friends happy that he won, especially Princess Lydia, the Cameras then looked at Kai for a short minute with him smiling at his son, meaning he was impress with his victory, and just as the Camera was going to point towards Master Chen, the camera man tripped, and the signal went down.
Jay : We were about to see who the judge or host or something was, couldn't that have waited another second.
Opal : Has anybody seen Cole?
Cole then bursts through the palace doors, telling the others that they needed to see this
As it turns out while Kai was on his balcony he threw the note into the ocean, hoping that it would reach Ninjago and one of his friends, and thankfully, it did.
Empress Harumi : What is it Cole?
Cole : A Note obviously, but what it says is gonna be surprising to you guys.
Lloyd : Well let's look at it then.
Pixal : Oh my gosh . . .
Lloyd : "an Old enemy of your father's has returned, my young elemental master of amber, and he has invited you to participate in his Tournament of Elements, your big sister has already accepted and left for an island of the coast of Ninjago, the decision to accept now comes to your friends, look at the fortune cookies for more information, but heed this warning, you will regret it, if you don't accept it."
At first the Others were confused but with the furious look on Lloyd's face, they all stared at him, because he knew who sent this note to Kai and Skylor's son.
Lloyd : Chen . . .
The others gasped, not believing that Chen was still alive, but when Cole looked at the title of the show and it said The Tournament of the Elements 2.0 they all knew that Chen was back, and where Kai and the kids were.
Meanwhile at Chen's Island. . .
Master Chen : We have a Loser!
Kayla : That is not fair, Charlie cheated!
Charlie : I did what I had to do to stay in the Tournament.
Kai : Great work son.
Princess Lydia : That's what I would call a ninja.
Kayla : Fine then, I lose and I never wanted to be stuck on your stupid island!
Just then the Signal came back on and the adults were looking at Master Chen
Master Chen : Oh well I am sorry to hear you did not enjoy your stay, I guess this all worked out for the best, and this is . . .
Charlie : Grandfather, what are you doing?
Master Chen : about to push one of my buttons, why are you asking?
Charlie then walks over and moves Chen's hand
Charlie : You can't do that
Master Chen : why not?
Charlie : Because I just did it, so long metal mouth!
Charlie then pushed the button and watched Kayla fall, and Skylor and Lloyd saw it happen.
Charlie : Good riddance.
Master Chen : Normally I would be upset that somebody pushed one of my buttons, but I can make an exception for you, my grandson.
Charlie : Thank you.
Master Chen : Anyways, as you can see, lose a match and you are out, and break a rule and you are out, so never bite the hand that feeds you, Master Chen's delicious noodles.
Kai : Ahem, Chen.
Master Chen : Oh and I almost forgot, now that Kayla is out, and the number 1 seat is open, her spot goes to Kai, the Master of Fire.
Kai saw Chen take Kayla's bracket out and put Kai's in there, against the Master of Poison, Teresa.
Master Chen : There we go, that is the official bracket for the tournament, go on ahead to the chow house and then rest up, tomorrow the Tournament of Elements will recommence!
The Signal went down once again, with everybody in shock that Chen had returned, and all the kids were there in a new tournament of elements, except for Felicia, which was confusing Skylor
Nya : You all saw that too right?
Cole : This cannot be real
Jay : It was live television Cole, It has to be real.
Lloyd : I don't know what was crazier, seeing Chen is back, or that Charlie got rid of the Master of Metal.
Skylor : We need to go to that Island and get them back, unless it was for a certain reason, Charlie wouldn't have left for that island, and the rest of the kids with him, including Kai.
Zane : Judging from the note they left for Charlie, and the time they have been gone as well the show being televised on live television, the answer is obvious
Opal then grabs Zane and yells at him.
Opal : What are you saying!
Zane : Master Chen took Felicia, and the Kai went with the kids to get her back.
Nya : Well we can't just stand here, we have to go help them
Pixal : I am afraid we cannot do that Nya.
Nya : Why not?
Jay : Look at the Island.
The adults see a giant force field around the island, meaning Kai and the kids were not only stuck on the island, but it also mean nobody else could get on it either.
Kai and Charlie, and the rest of the kids were locked in.
While Lloyd, and Skylor and the rest of their friends, were locked out.
With the first "Episode" of the Tournament over, Charlie and the rest of his friends at sitting at one of the long booths in the chow house talking about the first challenge.
Siddie : Well you have to admit the chow is good at least.
Eric : This is doing nothing but killing me, what's under the trap door and what happens when you lose.
Kai : Don't think about that Eric.
Eric : Uncle Kai, it's all I can think about, I moved on, I feel nothing but depression and guilt, these are not good feelings.
Nina : You think your day was bad, imagine how I feel, Mission is simple, tonight we find Felicia and get out of this place.
Charlie : No, were not leaving the rest of the Elemental Masters here, and besides that force field my grandfather put up around the island put the whole place on lock down, until we find a way to shut it off, nobody comes in, and nobody goes out, and I'm sure by now our parents know were here, unless they weren't smart enough to see a random game show called "The Tournament of Elements" and weren't at all suspicious of what it meant.
Kai : Calm down son, were going to find Felicia and get out of here, but not now, there's no time or options, for now, our only option is to get through the first round.
Just as Lydia was about to say something, Richard had approached the table.
Richard : You mind if I join you guys?
Nina was about to say no before Charlie gave his response first
Charlie : Not at all Richard, sit down.
Richard then sat down next to Siddie.
Nina : How are we supposed to be sure if we can trust this guy?
Siddie then hits Nina in the back of the head for her attitude.
Nina : Ouch, Siddie, that was mean!
Siddie : He helped me on the boat ride here, and got me the Jade Blade to get use through that first challenge, if that doesn't convince you that Richard is on our side, then your blind.
Richard : Thanks Siddie, glad somebody can show me respect.
Kai : I will also say that Lydia may have a good chance at getting through her first round since I saw her do Spinjitzu.
Princess Lydia : I don't know how, I was just running across the floor I was on, trying to avoid the attacks from Shadow and Poison, then all of a sudden I was a green tornado.
Charlie : Your parents are gonna be amazed when they see that, I just hope we can all survive the first round.
Princess Lydia : So do I.
Charlie : So Dad, what are we supposed to do if we can't find Felicia or get off this island.
Kai : Until we find a way to shut that force field off were stuck here regardless, we need to get through our first rounds to give us more time, and we gotta do it fast, because if all of us make it through the first round, were gonna have to start fighting each other, and I know you guys don't want to do that.
Xavier : Absolutely not.
Princess Lydia : Right now I want to fight some of these people more than others.
Charlie noticed Princess Lydia was referring to Nina and Eric since they haven't exactly been helpful since they got to the Island.
Kai : So listen to me when I tell you this, all seven of you, Stay within the rule book and stay low, do not break a rule, do not sneak around, just fight your first match, and we will see where it goes from there, and I promise you, we will find Felicia.
Charlie : I hope so.
Master Chen then comes on the Loudspeaker
Master Chen : Apologies for the interruption my young elemental masters, apart from Kai of course, will the Master of Amber please report to his quarters alone immediately.
Charlie : I guess I will see you guys in a bit, and stay here alright, he's my grandfather, I think I can handle him.
Kai : Okay Charlie, just be careful . . .
About 5 minutes later, Charlie arrives at his quarters, and sees his Master Chen on the balcony looking at the starry night view of Ninjago
Charlie : Grandfather?
Master Chen : ah, Glad to see you could make it Charlie.
Charlie : Well, all you asked me to do was come to my room.
Charlie : Grandfather?
Master Chen : Yes Charlie?
Charlie : Where is my sister?
Master Chen hesitated for a whole minute before telling Charlie the truth.
Master Chen : she's locked up in my cells beneath the Island
Little did Chen know, that Richard and Lydia took the Cameras and are managing to televise this moment with Charlie and Chen right now, with Skylor and the rest of the adults watching.
Charlie : Why?
Master Chen : That was the only way I could think to draw you and Kai here after I escaped the Departed Realm.
Charlie : Why did you escape?
Master Chen : I wanted to meet you and your sister, I sent the same invite to your sister, as I did to you and your friends, but she was less approving of my life, so I had to lock her up.
Charlie : So your not here to take our powers or turn your army in snakes again?
Master Chen : No, Arcturus was right, I had lied, cheated, and I became nothing but a snake imposter.
Charlie : Then why draw us all here? and put a force field around the Island?
Master Chen : It was the only thing I could think of to keep the rest of your parents off of the Island, and as old of a man that I am now, I would not live too much longer to see an unfortunate day such as another serpentine attack, so why bother, so I drew you all for one last Tournament of Elements before I head back to the Departed Realm, I guess I just didn't expect to see my son in-law here as well.
Charlie : And what about my Mother? don't you want to see her?
Master Chen : Of course I do, but with all the damage I did to her, I made an old pupil of mine turn against me, the elemental masters, the serpentine, and even your parents, It seemed like it would have been a good idea if I didn't see either of them, but now that Kai is here, I may not have a choice.
Charlie : If it makes you feel any better, It seems like my Dad was pleased with seeing you here, and to be honest, so was I.
Master Chen : Thank you Charlie, and I promise when this Tournament is Over I will free your sister and the rest of the elemental masters, the only reason I keep locking them up is because I don't want anything ruining my last small bit of fun before I head back to the Departed Realm.
Charlie : When this is all over I feel like you should try explaining everything to my Mother, it may not earn you any trust or respect, but seeing her and showing honesty might be the least thing she wants at this point.
Master Chen : I will be sure to try, thank you Charlie.
Chen then keeled down and hugged his grandson, which Charlie returned. and after Chen stood up and looked at the view of the City one more time.
Master Chen : but Charlie.
Charlie : Yes?
Master Chen : Eyezor and Clouse are much younger, and have much longer on this world, and after I am done, and I head back to the Departed Realm, they may try to pick up where they left off, Clouse doesn't have his spell book anymore, but that doesn't mean he won't try to take your powers.
Charlie : What are you saying?
Master Chen : I am saying, I am not your enemy, Eyezor and Clouse are, and they were the ones who gave you the Fortunes and Note, not me, I only gave you kids the ninja suits as a gift, because I wanted to make amends for my actions before I head back to the departed world I came from, and if I do go down, and Eyezor and Clouse try to take Ninjago for themselves, I will help you and friends get back to Ninjago.
Charlie : Thank you.
Master Chen : but for now I need to keep looking like I am on top of my plan to take back Ninjago, or Eyezor and Clouse will take all the power for themselves a lot faster, so tell your father, and your friends about this, and do whatever it takes to win the Staff of Elements at the end of the tournament, and defeat Clouse.
Charlie : I will, I promise.
Master Chen : Alright then, let me get back on the speaker.
Master Chen : It is now time for all the elemental masters to return to their assigned quarters, Tomorrow the Tournament of Elements will recommence.
Next Time on the Tournament of Elements : At the Chow House, Charlie begins telling his father and his friends that Clouse and Eyezor are planning a mutiny to take all the power on Chen's Island for himself, and Chen is trying to help change his way, but with the Tournament underway once again, and Chen not having a choice over what decisions he makes, the kids need to rescue the elemental masters and escape the island before the rebellion begins, will they succeed, with Clouse and Eyezor rise against Chen? will Kai's friends reach the Island in time?
