Chapter 12 : The Crashcourse Canyon
Previously on the Tournament of Elements 2.0 : The Bounty has Crashed, and everybody splits up around the Bounty and the forest to get the ship back in the air, with Nya and Pixal fixing the Scanners, Nina and Xavier were fixing the thrusters, and Cole and Siddie were removing the trees, until one broke and crushed Siddie's leg, while Brenden told Charlie and Princess Lydia his tale on how and why he went missing for so long, and shortly after that he was reunited with his old friend and his sister, while Lloyd was surprised, he was happy at the same time to see Akita again, but the joy was short lived, for about the next hour, Brenden and Akita told them about why he went missing, and about the Villains' Order, just then, Eyezor comes to attack, and makes the mistake of insulting Princess Lydia, and threatening Charlie, when a huge blast of Sand strikes him, and when everybody looks up, they see a deer standing on top of a rock, and suddenly a small white light, and after the flash, they see a boy carrying an Axe and using Sand powers, and Akita and Brenden revealed it was their son Zachary Kenway, after capturing Eyezor, they introduced their son to Charlie and Lydia, and they met up with Kataru and began heading towards the Bounty, they decided to leave Akita and Kataru at the village in the Birchwood Forest, to look for Clayton, while the others continue heading for Crashcourse Canyon.
Will Akita find her son? Will The Elemental Masters find Pythor first? Will Clouse get his men off the Island?

10:45 a.m. on the Destiny's Bounty
The kids are practicing their fighting styles and their elemental powers for the next time they run into Clouse's men, and at the same time, Felicia can't seem to take her eyes of Zach, which seems to be funny to Lydia and Charlie, but annoying to Eric.
Lydia and Richard were sparring with Zach.
Charlie was sparring with Nina.
Xavier was sparring with Eric.
and Felicia was sparring with Siddie.
Princess Lydia : So, Zach?
Zach : Yea?
Princess Lydia : How long did you live in the Never-Realm before you came to Ninjago?
Zach : I stayed there until I was 7, it was shortly after I was born that your uncle disappeared.
Charlie : So your, 8 years old now?
Zach : Yes.
Princess Lydia : Still getting used to living in Ninjago?
Zach : Yes and No, yes because It's just a completely different realm, no because parts of Ninjago are very similar to my old home, so it's easy to get used to that, and i'm pretty sure I can get used to living in Ninjago, it's a beautiful place.
Charlie : Truly is.
Princess Lydia : My great-grandfather created this realm, and since my father did everything he could to protect with his life, I feel as I get older, regardless if i'm the Princess or not, i'm gonna be empress or not, and if I get the chance to protect this realm with all of My life, then I'm gonna do it.
Kai and Harumi heard Lydia while they were walking towards the deck.
Empress Harumi : Sweetie, you are sounding just like your father.
Princess Lydia : Is there anything wrong with that?
Kai : No, to me it's a good thing, Lloyd was the best among us when we were protecting Ninjago, no reason to think you won't be the best when you guys take over our job.
Charlie : No argument there.
Nina : I still can't believe most of this.
Xavier : What, Nina?
Nina : Old villains returning, Richard's father still being alive, The Empress' brother coming up after 7 years, and the fact that the new guy were talking to, is his son.
Zach : Okay, so my parents were both in another realm, and I have sand powers, and I can turn into an animal, big deal!
Felicia laughed at Zack's joke, which shows him that Charlie was right, when he told Zach that his sister liked him.
Felicia : Your funny, Zach.
Zach : Thanks.
Eric : Again, is there a 3rd lovebird on the ship?
Siddie, Charlie, Zach, and Felicia : Shut up, Eric!
Eric : Well, excuse me.
Nina : Mom, can we please just throw him overboard?
Nya : Believe me Nina, sometimes I wish I could have done that my brother, but no.
Kai : You do know I can hear you right?
Charlie : Dad, that's why she said it.
Zach : I am really starting to like you guys.
Nina : I'm just surprised that over the course of that stupid tournament to now, that brings the new friend total to 2.
Zach : It will become 3-4 soon enough.
Nina : How so?
Zach : Well we left my mother at the Birchwood Village to find my brother, Clayton, so he's gonna come into the picture soon enough.
Nina : The other one?
Zach : Well that's another story of my own.
Charlie : Well were gonna be on this ship for a while Zach, might as well spill the beans.
Zach : Well Like I said, I'm 8 years old, my brother Clayton is 7, but back in the Never-Realm, shortly after I turned 7, my younger sister Via was captured by the Villains' Order, though I have no idea where they took her.
Nina : Who took her?
Zach : Acronix.
Kai : Oh, that guy.
Zach : Well now were down to just one hand of time, because Krux is dead.
Nya : What happened to him?
Zach : The same time blasts my parents were caught in, he got caught in, he got caught in the Forward wave, which accelerated his aging to fast for Acronix to reverse it, so he died.
Kai : To be fair, he was years and years old anyway, didn't really matter to try saving him.
Charlie : So your sister, if she's still alive, how old is she now?
Zach : 6, she's 9 months younger than Clayton.
Zach : Though I will say she found her animal form way fast than me and my brother, I already know what her animal form is.
Felicia : What is it?
Zach : Believe it or not, her form was sort of connected to her elemental powers, that and while we thought it wasn't possible.
Nina : So what's her animal form?
Zach : The Phoenix.
Kai : Whoa, and I thought Phoenix's were usually made up of fire.
Zach : They are, but do to Via's powers being similar, her animal form is the same as her powers, and not fire.
Felicia : What is her Elemental power?
Zach : Molten Metal.
Charlie : That sounds like a brutal element.
Zach : It is, though I'm pretty sure that's why she spent so much time at the Blacksmith shop, and the Foundry, considering her element was very useful for those jobs.
Kai : Good point.
Zach : Though, what's also very useful, is that she can control how hot the Metal is, because some types of metal, can easily melt in your own hands, and they are safe to hold and mess around with, so she can also control the temperature of the metal.
Charlie : Somebody like her would be certainly be a valuable asset, considering our realm is on the verge of war.
Zach : If we can actually find her, after my mother became the leader of the Formlings, each time they found their animal forms, my mother would find a crystal from the caves in the Never-Realm, and bond it to the Formlings, so if the power inside of the Crystal dies, then it would mean that whoever it was bonded to had died.
Felicia : So she's not dead?
Zach : No, I actually have her crystal right here.
Zach then showed Via's Crystal to his friend, and they were interested by the red glow.
Siddie : What's the red glow for?
Zach : Just what their color is supposed to be, though it's not exactly red, is a variation, sort of like mine isn't exactly yellow.
Nina : So what's yours then?
Zach then showed his crystal to the group.
Zach : The shade of yellow that I have is called Royal, makes sense, because it's a shade of yellow that's similar to color of Sand.
Zach : And I don't know if it's ironic or not . . .
Charlie : What?
Zach : The shade of red my sister has, is called Vermilion.
Kai : Okay, that's interesting, considering Acronix is head of the Vermilion army with Krux out of the picture, and he captured your sister, and now her animal form, and her color are have the same name as the army that took her, yea that's very Ironic.
Eric : Coincidence, Ironic, to me it's the same thing.
Nina : Major difference in what the word means, brother.
Charlie : Okay, how did we go from practicing our powers, to talking about the definitions of word play?
Everybody stopped and looked towards Charlie.
Princess Lydia : Awkward . . .
Zach : A tale similar to the Prophecy of the Green Ninja had been told in the Never-Realm.
Charlie : What was it?
Zach : It was a Prophecy known as the Formlings' Freedom, due to the Formlings receiving no acceptance in the other realms, years before, the Prophecy said that 5 formlings would come together with a team of elemental masters to face a legion of villains from across the 14 realms, and considering at the time the Prophecy was told, there was still 16, meaning it led far into destiny, and considering what I'm doing now with you guys, i'm pretty sure three of the formlings are me and my siblings, but I have no idea who the last two are, all I can say is I believe that now the Prophecy of the Formlings' Freedom, is gonna affect us all, even if it's about the Formlings.
Brenden : It's a possibility son, though there's no way to tell for sure, considering how much of a legend it was considered as in the Never-Realm.
About 45 Minutes Later
Nya : Guys, were approaching the Crashcourse Canyon, I'll set the ship down at Pythor's last known position.
Charlie : Let's do this!
Zach : Perfect if they try to attack us here, there's patches of sand all over the Canyon.
The kids then got off the Bounty and walked around a huge rock, but what they saw was horrendous.
There was broken Anacondrai Swords laying on the ground, and what also looked like dead Vermilion snakes.
Zach : What the heck happened here?
Charlie : That's what we need to figure out, spread out, we need to see what happened.
Over the next 10 Minutes, the kids fanned out across the Canyon to see what caused the attack, and something caught Zach and Kai's eyes.
Zach : Charlie, check this out!
Charlie and Princess Lydia went over to Zach and Kai.
Charlie : What is it?
Kai : It's one of the Vermilion's skeletons.
Zach : And this.
Zach dug through the sand and saw what seemed like a blade made of Chronosteel.
Kai : The Time Blade!
Princess Lydia : Or what's left of it.
Charlie : Acronix must have been here.
Brenden : That doesn't make any sense, unless something happened to the so called Villains' Order, then from what we saw here, maybe Acronix stabbed them in the back, or they disbanded.
Princess Lydia : Dead Vermilion, broken Anacondrai Swords, a Time Blade, makes sense to me.
Kai then realized not only was the Time Blade broken, but there was no time on it.
Kai : I just realized.
Charlie : What?
Kai : The power that was on the Time Blade is gone.
Just then Nina and Richard came over to them.
Nina : Guys!
Richard : You need to see this!
Charlie : What is it?
Nina : The Time Blades.
Nina and Richard dropped the rest of them, but none of the 4 Time Blades had the Elemental Powers.
Just then, Lloyd came over and believes he found a lead.
Lloyd : Guys, I think I found something.
Princess Lydia : What is it?
Lloyd : a White and purple scale, so Pythor was here, and I also found this Map.
Brenden : Well hang me then, I've seen this Map before.
Nina : What is it?
Brenden : This Map marked the camps of the Villains' Order around Ninjago, and the Crashcourse Canyon was one of Clouse's outposts, though if none of the Anacondrai are here, and there's dead vermilion, then Clouse must of fought them back and left, and if they did disband, then they have to be using each of these camps as a headquarters, and they may be trying to pick each other off one by one, until only one will remain to rule Ninjago.
Charlie : Let's see, Clouse's base is the Island, so he must be going there now, Acronix's is the Vermilion Swamps he used as his base of operations last time.
Princess Lydia : The Omega Oni and Hutchins must be using my grandfather's old camp on the Dark Island.
Lloyd : If they teamed up then we may all be in danger.
Richard : That's weird.
Nina : What Richard?
Richard : It says here that the Overlord is using Borg Tower.
Kai : Well Since I reforged the Armor of the Golden Master back into the Golden Weapons, he can't be there to find it, not to mention after we defeated the Oni, the weapons were drained of their Golden Power, so the only place he could get that sort of power is. . .
Lloyd and Kai : The Golden Peaks.
Princess Lydia : Meanwhile it says here that the Sons of Garmadon are using the abandoned subway station tunnels beneath Ninjago City.
Charlie : The last one is the Serpentine using the Sewers, and the Tomb of the Stone Army.
Kai : Well, good news is that there's no trace of Nadakhan on this stupid thing.
Princess Lydia : No trace of Pythor either. . .
Charlie : Maybe we should head back to Ninjago City, and speak with the Serpentine, maybe they might have a clue to where Pythor might be.
Brenden : Worth a shot.
Richard : wait a minute, there's writing here but I can't see it, almost as if it's invisible ink.
Nina : Hey Xavier, get over here!
Xavier came over to the others.
Nina : Can you scan this and see what that writing is?
Xavier : Sure.
Xavier turned on his scanners for them to see what the invisible ink was.
Brenden : It says, Vex's attack point, at noon.
Zach : That's the Village at the Birchwood Forest!
Princess Lydia : Right now it's 11:45.
Brenden : We need to get there and find Akita, now.
Kai : Guys, come on, were leaving!
Everybody hurried back to the Bounty and starting flying for the Birchwood Forest
About 20 Minutes Later at the Birchwood Forest.
Charlie : What time is it?
Princess Lydia : 12:05.
Nina : We may be too late.
Zach : Look down there.
Zach was pointing towards the Village that was under attack by the Blizzard Samurai.
Kai : Oh lord.
Lloyd : Nya, get us down there!
Nya : I'm on it!
Nya landed the Bounty near the entrance to the Village, and after walking through they saw Akita and Kataru fighting with Vex.
Zach : It's Vex, he's here!
Richard : I am going to keep on hitting that guy until he tells me where my father is!
Richard then ran straight into the village to take down Vex.
Charlie : Oh boy. . .
Princess Lydia : Come on.
The kids pulled out their weapons and ran into the village to help Akita and Kataru.
Akita : Lloyd was right, we should have locked you up in the dungeons!
Vex : Yet to didn't, and that wasn't a banishment either, you let me go free into the Realm, I told you I would return, and look at where I am standing now!
Zach changed into his animal form and charged at Vex.
Vex : What the, a deer?
Zach changed back to Normal and pointed his weapon at Vex.
Zach : Surprised to see me?
Vex : Zachary Kenway, what are the odds.
Akita : Son, your here.
Zach : Get him!
Charlie : Dad, you and the others take the Blizzard Samurai, Richard and I will take care of Vex.
Kai : Alright, if you're sure.
Over the next 10 Minutes, Zach, Richard, and Charlie were fighting Vex with Akita and Kataru, while the Others focused on defeating the Blizzard Samurai.
Akita : I don't see why you continue fighting against us, you no longer have the control of Zane, or the Forbidden Scroll, you had others do your work in the Never-Realm, for you, your weak Vex, weak!
Vex : I Will never be weak!
Vex then looked around and saw the Ninja defeating his Blizzard Samurai, before Richard and Charlie came up to him.
Richard : Drop your weapon!
Vex : Would you really kill a man, Richard, one of my best men was supposed to capture you, on February 10th, we lost contact with him.
Richard had the same flashback that Charlie did, about him telling his friends about what happened to the man who tried to steal the only memory he had left of his parents.
Richard : He's dead, I killed him!
Richard then disarmed Vex, and knocked him down, and shortly, he was surrounded.
Vex : This cannot be possible.
Akita saw a Blizzard Samurai coming towards Lloyd.
Akita : Lloyd look out!
Lloyd turned around as the Blizzard Samurai was about to strike, but as he tried, he got hit by a giant snowball.
Nina : What was that?
Kataru : A Giant snowball.
Kataru and the others turned around and saw what seemed like a Polar Bear, and the bear approached the group, and Vex was scared as Richard and Zach made him stare straight at the creature.
The polar bear turned back to normal, and it was a boy who had an appearance similar to Kataru, only his clothing was white, due to the bear being a different species.
Zach : Great job, Clayton.
Clayton : Thanks.
Kataru : Nice, so I'm no longer the only bear in the group.
Nina : Wait, Zach, so this is your brother?
Zach : Yep, this is my younger brother Clayton, he's the Master of Snow.
Clayton : As well as Formling of the Polar Bear.
Akita : Great job, both of you.
Richard then stepped in front of Vex and put his sword away, before facing him.
Richard : I'm only gonna ask you this one time Vex.
Vex : Go on.
Richard : Where is my father?
Vex : You won't ever be able to save him Charlie, your father has been taken by the Sons of Garmadon, and is locked up in the abandoned subway station in Ninjago City, good luck attempting to save a man, who up until you were born, did nothing but attempt to save himself.
Richard : Oh, shut up!
Richard then grabbed Siddie's Scythe, and knocked Vex out.
Richard : Chain this clown, were putting him on the Bounty with Eyezor, and then were heading straight for Krypterium Prison.
Akita : I don't have any problems with that, and when we get there, make sure any villains we catch, are put in Maximum Security, we don't want them escaping again.
Lloyd : I'll make sure of it Akita, don't worry.
After about 15 Minutes, The Young Ninjas locked Vex up with Eyezor, and decided to start heading towards the Royal Palace to figure out their next move.
Meanwhile at the Royal Palace in Ninjago City.
Misako : I'm starting to get worried, where are they?
Master Wu : I am sure they are fine Misako.
Misako : How do you know, ever since they left they haven't contacted us once.
Karlof : I wouldn't worry.
Misako : Why's that?
Karlof : Because the ship is right there.
The Destiny's Bounty docked and everybody got off the ship, with Charlie and Richard hanging on to Eyezor and Vex.
Misako : You guys are back.
Garmadon : Did you find Pythor?
Lloyd : No.
Master Wu : I see you caught Eyezor, but who is this other man?
Kai : We can explain the whole thing.
1 Hour Later.
Kai : And That's exactly what happened.
Lloyd : So now we know the locations of all of the villains that escaped, and we also have Morro's location, so were gonna be splitting up from right here.
Charlie : Okay, so what's the plan?
Lloyd : Zane, Pixal, Jay, you three go with my father, and take the Bounty to Krypterium, and lock these clowns up.
Zane : Understood.
Lloyd : The Formlings, Richard, Charlie, and Harumi will come with me, so we can deal with the Sons of Garmadon and find Morro, Opal, Cole, Siddie, and Nya will head to the Serpentine to see if they know anything of Pythor's whereabouts, the rest of you stay here and make sure the city is under control until we all get back.
Master Chen : That shouldn't be too much of an issue.
Just as everybody was about to leave, Lydia's other hand turned back to normal.
Princess Lydia : Charlie!
Charlie : Your hand, the spell is still wearing off, hopefully it ends soon.
Empress Harumi : I'm sure it will
Lloyd : Let's go.
Skylor : Be careful, Charlie.
Charlie : I know what i'm doing Mom.
Skylor : I know, I know, I just don't want any more weird surprises coming up.
Charlie : I understand, we'll see you when we get back.
Next Time on the Tournament of Elements 2.0 : The team splits up, going across Ninjago City to rescue an old friend and lock up old enemies, meanwhile Kai and the rest of his family are at the Royal Palace trying to keep things under control, when a weird signal comes up from beneath the city, is it another friend of the ninja, or is it a trap, while Nya, Cole, Siddie, and Opal head beneath the City to find the Serpentine Generals and locate Pythor, leading to a surprising discovery, while Jay, Garmadon, and the nindroids head to Krypterium to lock up Eyezor and Vex, but a secret attack may cost them not just their enemy's captivity, but their lives, and Lloyd, heads beneath Ninjago City with the Formlings, Harumi, Charlie, and Richard to save Morro from Hutchins and the Sons of Garmadon, but somebody has been following them from the shadows. . .
Will Morro be saved? Will Eyezor and Clouse get locked up? Is Zach and Clayton's sister alive? Will the 3rd Serpentine War Commence?
