Erid Luin. Dwalin's POV. We arrived a little bit ago and the fairy lass was still alive, but holding on barely. Oin took her and had locked us out while he tended her wounds. I leaned against the wall with my arms crossed. Fili and Kili had gone back to see if there was any survivors.
"What are you gonna do with the lass?" I ask, watching Thorin pace.
"Take her in as my ward." Thorin said. I nod as the door opened and Oin stepped out.
"Except her wings being removed she has no injury. The lass is very lucky." Oin said.
"How is she?" Thorin asked.
"She's awake. She's asking for her kin and where she is. I said I would go get you." Oin said. Thorin nodded and stepped in. I followed.
Celeste's POV. I laid on my side curled in a ball, looking at the wall. I remember the pain as the orcs ripped the wings from my back. I blacked out when they finished and pretty sure they left me for dead. The dwarf named Oin informed me I was in Erid Luin. I heard footsteps and roll over to see Thorin and Dwalin approach us. I sit up as they come to a stop in front of me.
"Thank you for everything." I said.
"We don't know if any of your people survived. We sent Fili and Kili to find out." Thorin said.
"Lily?" I ask.
"I'm sorry. Soon after she found us the lass passed away from her injuries." Dwalin said. I looked down. The door opened and Fili and Kili came in.
"What did you find?" Thorin asked turning to the brothers.
"No survivorys, Uncle. I'm sorry, Celeste." Fili said. I go to get off the bed.
"I have to get out of here." I said.
"And go where." Dwalin growled.
"Anywhere. If they find out I'm alive they will come back and I can't endanger you or your people." I said. Thorin stopped me.
"I promised your father I would protect you. You are to stay here as my ward. We won't let them harm you." Thorin said.
"But..." I said.
"No buts. You wanted to learn about us and our ways. Your getting your wish, but not the way you thought." Thorin said.
"Thank you, my lord." I said. Thorin chuckled.
"Just Thorin." Thorin said. I smiled weakly but was happy the dwarves were willing to let me stay.
Few days later. Oin released me and I was standing in the royal chambers. Fili and Kili had brought me my dresses and books with help from two dwarves that I met as Gloin and Bofur. I stood in one of my favorite dresses as I looked around my room. I had the braid of Durin that Thorin put in marking me as his ward so the dwarves wouldn't be rude or mean to me.
"Celeste. Come out here for a minute." Thorin called. I stepped out of my room to find a dwarf woman standing there. "This is my sister Dis. She is Fili and Kili's mother." I smile as she came over and gave me a hug.
"I heard from my boys what happened to your people. I am so sorry." Dis said.
"Thank you Dis." I said. Dwalin and a silver hair dwarf came in.
"This is Balin an old friend of mine. He will be teaching you our history and helping you learn the dwarf language if you would like." Thorin said. My eyes widen.
"Really?" I ask.
"Yes lass." Balin said.
"I would love to." I said. Thorin and Dwalin disappear to go to the forges as me and Balin sat on the couch near the fire and I started my history lessons.
