Chapter 4 Dinner

It had been a few months since I joined the dwarves in Erebor. Thorin was able to get me a job at one of the restraunts. On the days I didn't work. I learned more history lessons from Balin. I became close to Fili and Kili who were now considering me like a sister. Thorin seemed to adopt me as a daughter which I was happy to have a family. I missed my family. Maybe not Alvin but for sure the rest of them. Dwalin I couldn't figure out. He seemed to keep a watchful eye on me when he saw me. He didn't say much to me which didn't surprise me.

I got done with work early and bought some food for Thorin and Dwalin that were working down in the forges. I head down to the forges carrying the plates. I arrived at the forges. I asked one of the dwarves where Thorin was and he pointed the way. I walk towards where Thorin was. He looked up when I neared. Dwalin was near them.

"Celeste. What you doing here?" Thorin asked.

"I brought you and Dwalin food. I figured you were hungry." I said. Dwalin walked over. He had his tunic off and I had to stop myself from checking out his mussels.

"Thank ye lass." Dwalin said, giving me a smile as he took his plate and sat down.

"Dis wanted me to remind you that we are having friends over for supper." I said, turning to Thorin as I handed him his plate.

"We won't be late. Dwalin you are coming?" Thorin asked.

"Aye." Dwalin said.

"I should head home and help Dis with the food." I said. I left the dwarves alone and head to the Royal chambers. Dis was there with another dwarf woman.

"Welcome home Celeste. This is Dana, Gloin's wife. Fili and Kili are training with their son Gimli. You will meet him later tonight." Dis introduced. Dana smiled at me.

"Nice to meet you, Celeste." Dana said. I smiled.

"Where do you need me?" I ask. I loved cooking and didn't mind helping. A knock on the door came and Dis went and got it. Bofur came in with two others. I was introduced to Bifur and Bombur. Bombur went and helped with the food. I sat listening to stories from the dwarves as we made food.

Night came. I met Dori, Nori and Ori as they joined us. Ori immediatly started asking questions on the history of the fairies. Dis shooed us out and we sat on the couch near the fire and I shared the history that I knew and read about. Everything of our history was destroyed by the orcs. I discovered Ori was a scribe and I shared it with him. Fili and Kili came in with a very young dwarf.

"Gimli this is Celeste. The one we were talking about." Fili said. Oin and Gloin joined us soon after with Balin. We were just waiting on Thorin and Dwalin.

"Nice to meet you lass." Gimli said. I smiled as Gimli went to his father. Fili and Kili stood smoking listening to my stories as I talked to Ori.

"How old are you actually, Miss Celeste." Ori said. Thorin and Dwalin came in finally and went to talking with the others.

"Just Celeste. Please. I'm 100. Like elves we are immortal and can only die if mortally injured." I said.

"Wow. Your older then us." Kili laughed. I grabbed a pillow and tossed it at Kili.

"Yeah but I am probably more mature then you two." I said. Kili clutched his chest and Fili laughed.

"She got you there brother." Fili said. I laughed as we talked. Ori was so sweet and Dori came over.

"Would you like some tea, Miss Celeste?" Dori asked, holding a cup. I smile and take it, thanking him as Ori started asking questions and Dori started scolding him like a mother hen. It made me smile. There was no fighting or arguing much like me and siblings did all the time. Everyone got along. There might be some yelling and fighting here and there but not constant and families were close.

"Dinner is ready." Dis called. I stood up and raced Fili and Kili to the dining room. I was getting use to not having wings. I sat down next to Fili. Dwalin sat across from me. Bofur passed around the ale as we all ate and talked. I felt Dwalin's eyes on me and everytime I looked at him he looked away. I sighed as the dwarves got into a burping contest. Kili won with the longest and I laughed as the dwarves cheered.

After dinner. I helped Dis and Dana clean up as the men sat in the parlor, smoking and talking. I was happy and was looking foward to seeing how the future would go for me.

AN: Here's the next chapter. I say one or two chapters till Thorin talks on going on Journey. Till next time.
