Chapter 12 Rivendell
Gandalf and Thorin got into a bickering of the wizardk bringin them to Rivendell. I rolled my eyes as I saw Bilbo's excitement.
"Ye seem excited lass." Dwalin said.
"I always wanted to see Rivendell. I am getting my wish." I said. Dwalin grunted as we walk down and over a bridge into Rivendell. I looked around in amazement. It was beautiful like I read.
"Mithrandir." A voice came and I looked to see an elf coming down towards us.
"Ah, Lindir!" Gandalf said. They spoke in elvish.
"Stay sharp." Thorin said to Dwalin. The dwarves trust for the elves was still thin.
"My Lord Elrond is not here." Lindir said.
"Not here? Where is he?" Gandalf asked. Elf horns blew. We turn and see a group of armed horsemen approaching.
"Ifridi bekar! Hold ranks." Thorin yelled. Dwalin grabbed me as Bofur grabbed Bilbo and pushed us into the center of the dwarves with Ori as the elves circled us. They stop and Elrond comes forward.
"Gandalf." Elrond said.
"Lord Elrond." Gandalf spoke in elvish as Elrond got off his horse and gives Gandalf a hug. Elrond holds up an orc sword.
"Strange for Orcs to come close to our borders. Something, or someone, has drawn them near." Elrond said. He hands the sword off to Lindir.
"Ah, that may have been us." Gandalf said. Thorin steps forward.
"Welcome Thorin, son of Thrain." Elrond said.
"I do not believe we met." Thorin said.
"You have your grandfather's bearing. I knew Thror when he ruled under the Mountain." Elrond said.
"Indeed. He made no mention of you." Thorin said.
"Thorin." I said. Elrond's eyes land on me.
"Celeste. I was sorry to hear of your family. Your father was a good friend before you were born." Elrond said.
"Thank you Lord Elrond." I said. Elrond motioned with his hand and an elf maid came down the steps. "This is my daughter Arwen. She'll take you for a bath." I grin. Dwalin stopped me.
"Stay with us, lass." Dwalin said.
"We are safe and I need a bath. Stop worrying." I said.
"Let the lass go, brother. She deserves it." Balin said. Dwalin let me go and I follow Arwen to the baths.
"What's your name?" Arwen asked.
"Celeste. Thank you Lady Arwen." I said.
"Just Arwen. I'll leave you to take a bath and I'll leave a dress out for you." Arwen said. I slipped out of my clothes and put them off to the side. I slipped into the water and sighed in content. I knew this was gonna be my last bath until we get to the mountain. I got out after awhile when my stomach started growled. I found a green dress waiting for me. I tried it on and it fit. I left my hair down in curls.
"Ready?" Arwen asked as I came out in the dress.
"Yes. Thank you for the dress. I love it." I said.
"It looks good on you." Arwen said. We head to the balcony.
Dwalin's POV. I growl. It was taking the lass awhile.
"Settle down, brother. She is in good hands. The elves are seem pretty nice." Balin said.
"I'll calm as soon as I know she is alright." I growl.
"She's your one isn't she?" Balin asked. I didn't think of it, but I knew it deep down.
"Aye." I said. Balin nodded.
The elves brought out the food as Elrond and Gandalf walked and sat downn to eat.
"Try it. Just a mouthful." Dori said. Ori holds up vegatables. He drops them back in the bowl.
"I don't like green food." Ori said. I look through the bowl of greens.
"Where's the meat?" I ask.
"Do they have any chips?" Ori asked.
"Miss Celeste. Don't you look lovely." Balin said, nudging me. I look up to see Celeste comes up the steps with the elf maid, laughing and talking. I drop my bowl and the dwarves look at me. The dress hugged her good. I saw her in dresses a few times but rarely. I had to admit the elf dress looked good on her. She blushed as the dwarves nodded in approval. Balin chuckled.
Celeste's POV. Arwen and I sat with Gandalf, Elrond, and Thorin. Arwen leaned over.
"A dwarf can't keep his eyes off you." Arwen whispered. I could feel Dwalin's eyes on me. I blush and look down as I started eating. Arwen chuckled. Elrond looked at Thorin's sword.
"This is Orcist, the Goblin Cleaver. A famous blade, forged by the High Elves of the West, my kin. May it serve you well." Thorin said, handing back the sword. Gandalf handed Elrond his sword. "And this is Glamdring, The Foe-Hammer, sword of the King of Gondolin. These swords were made for the Goblin wars of the First Age." I took a drink of the Elvish wine as we listened.
"How did you come by these?" Elrond asked.
"We found them in a troll hoard on the Great East Road, shortly before we were ambushed by orcs." Gandalf said. Thorin didn't look pleased. Arwen and I excused ourselves as she took me on a tour of the gardens and we sat in the library and I told her of my family history. I notice something. I walk to the statue that held the broken sword.
"The sword that cut off Sauron's finger and ended the war." I said.
"You know your history well." Arwen said.
"Of course. I love to read." I said. We sat and talked till night.
I head back to the dwarves after changing in my travel clothes. I heard laughing. I stopped when I saw Gandalf and Elrond walking. I come to the balcony where the dwarves had a party going, roasting sausages over a fire made by burning the Elvish furnature. I shook my head as Bombur sat on a bench eating a big bowl of food.
"Bombur!" Bofur called, throwing him the saugage. Bombur catches it. The bench starts to creak and breaks. Bombur falls to the floor. The dwarves laugh as I join them.
"Welcome back lass. Did you enjoy Rivendell?" Kili asked.
"Of course. I hope to come back one day." I said.
"I'm sure ye will lass." Bofur said. I went over to Dwalin as he had our bed rolls set up. I sat down next to him.
"You enjoy your stay?" I ask.
"To an extent." Dwalin grumbled. Thorin, Balin, and Bilbo come up on the balcony.
"Bedtime. We leave early." Thorin ordered. He did not look happy. I laid down as the dwarves put the fire out. Dwalin laid back and turned to face me.
"Get some sleep lass." Dwalin said. I yawned as I fell asleep.
Third person point of view. Azog let the wargs attack his ex leader of the wargs. He turned to someone who hid in the shadows.
"The fairy survived and travels with the dwarves. You are to kill her. There's a price on her head like all the rest." Azog said. The shadow nods and disappears as the orcs leap on the Wargs and ran off to do Azog's will.
AN: Hmm. I wonder whose in the shadows. LOL. You'll find out eventually. Till next time.
