Chapter 13 Leaving and Storm Battle

Thorin woke us all up before the sun was even up. I packed my bed roll. We head out across the bridge, going up the pathway to the hidden pathway.

"Be on your guard, we're about to step over the edge of the Wild. Balin, you know these paths, lead on." Thorin said as I walked with Dwalin.

"Aye." Balin said. We pass Bilbo as he takes one last look. I looked back one last time and head out to the pathway. We stepped out into the clearing and start walking towards the Misty Moutains. Bilbo and I shared small talk about dwarves and fairies. We walk over ranges, mountains, and plains. We stopped at the base of the mountain for the night. I ate my food as as the dwarves made plans with crossing the Misty Mountains.

"We are half way there. We just need to cross the Mountains." Thorin said. The dwarves nodded. I laid on my bed roll as Thorin had the first watch. I looked at the stars as I pulled the blanket over me as Dwalin snored next to me. I turned towards him and let sleep take me as I dozed off, not realizing Dwalin turned to face me, putting hand on mine.

The next day. We climbed the mountains. I stayed between Fili and Dwalin. Dwalin kept a hand in mine as we walked. I nearly slipped and Dwalin caught me.

"Got ye lass." Dwalin said. It started storming as we climbed higher. I put the hood of my coat up.

"Hold on." Thorin called. Dwalin catches Bilbo before he falls as he slips. "We must find shelter!" Dwalin looked up and pushed me against the wall.

"Watch out!" Dwalin yelled. I looked up to see a massive boulder hurlting through the air. It hits the mountainside above us. Dwalin threw himself over me to shield me as the rocks fell.

"This is no thunderstorm, it's a thunder battle! Look!" Balin said. Dwalin held me as we looks as a stone giant rears up from a nearby mountain, ripping a boulder from the top of the Mountain.

"The legends are true." I said.

"Aye lass. Stone Giants!" Bofur said, stepping forward.

"Take cover! You'll fall." Thorin said.

"What's happening?" Kili said. The one giant throws the bourder as another giant appears from behind the Comapany. It was hit in the head. Dwarves yell to brace. I grip the rock behind me as the ground beneath our feet begins to give way. The ground began to split between Fili and Kili.

"No. We're on one!" I yell. Fili reaches for Kili.

"Kili! Grab my hand!" Fili called as Kili was pulled away. I grab Fili from jumping after his brother as the giant we were on stands up. I held on tight as we were flung around. Thorin's groups leg got close to a ledge and jump onto it. We were still stuck on the other leg.

"Get ready to jump!" Dwalin yelled as the leg nears an edge. We jump. I hit the edge and try and grab on but couldn't. Bilbo tried to reach for me. I scream as I fell into darkness.

An: AND I LEAVE YA THERE. No killing the writer. Till next time.
