Chapter 18 The Stay and River Battle.

Night fell on Mirkwood as I come out of the bath. I needed one and had a private bath connected to my room. I got back in my travel clothes. I sat down on the balcony rail and looked out at Erebor. It was beautiful and it could be my new home if I survive this quest. The door opened and Tauriel came in carrying food.

"I figured you were hungry." Tauriel said. I took the bowl.

"Thank you." I said. I took a bite as Tauriel looked out over the woods. "How the dwarves doing?"

"The brothers keep asking about you. I think Fili and Kili and the bald head keeps asking to see you. I take it your courting him?" Tauriel asked. I nod.

"Aye. Dwarves are proctective of their women and it didn't help that your King seperated me from them." I said.

"I have to follow my King's orders." Tauriel said. I look out at Erebor. "I figured you would like this room."

"Its a beautiful view. I appreciate your kindness." I said. She left. I gently tug on my braid that Dwalin put in my hair. Oh I missed him. I looked at the bed and sigh. I was use to sleeping next to the dwarves and now in Dwalin's arms. It was gonna be hard. I crawl into the bed, leaving the balcony door open. I lay back against the pillows. I sigh as I look at the ceiling. I drift off into a restless sleep.

The next day. Dwalin's POV. I stand and look out as the sun poured through the windows.

"I'll wager the sun's on the rise. It must be nearly dawn." Bofur said.

"We're never going to reach the mountain, are we?" Ori asked. I sigh as I lean my heads against the bars. I didn't sleep well last night without Celeste next to me, having slept next to her the whole journey.

"Not stuck in here, you're not!" Bilbo said. I looked up to see Bilbo unlocking cell doors. We all got out.

"Thorin. We can't leave Celeste." I said.

"We have no time." Bilbo said.

"No. I'm not leaving her behind." I growl.

"He's right. We don't have to time to look or we will get caught. I am sure she will be joining us eventually." Thorin said.

"Yer no good to her if your captured or worse, brother." Balin said. I hesitated but I knew we had no time to argue. I nodded. We headed for the stairs.

"The stairs. You firs. Ori!" I growl.

"Not that way, down here. Follow me." Bilbo said. Bilbo leads us through the Woodland Realm. We sneak through the halls and found ourselves in a wine cellar. Elves were sound asleep around a table with empty bottles of wine in front of them. We were lead further in. "This way."

"I don't believe it. We're in the cellars!" Kili said. I growl in anger and saw others getting mad.

"You were shupposed to be leading us out, not further in!" Bofur said.

"I know what I'm doing!" Bilbo said.

"Shh!" Bofur said.

"This way." Bilbo said. We come into a large room where barrels are stacked sideways down the middle of the room.

"Everyone climb into the barrels, quickly!" Bilbo said.

"Are you mad?! They'll find us!" I said in a growl. I was already in a bad mood and this just didn't feel right.

"No, no, they won't, I promise you. Please, please, you MUST trust me!" Bilbo said. A commotion in the distance came.

"Do as he says!" Thorin said. I help get some dwarves in the barrels and climb in one of the barrels as well. Bilbo walks along, counting to make sure we were all there. We stick our heads out of the barrels.

"What do we do now?" Bofur asked. Bilbo turns as he stands by the leaver.

"Hold your breath." Bilbo said.

"Hold my breath? What do you mean?" Bofur asked. Bilbo pulls the lever and the floor raises up and the barrels roll. I heard splashes and I went under.

Celeste's POV. I heard yells and was wondering what was going on. Tauriel comes running in.

"Here!" Tauriel hands me all my weapons. I threw them on and hid my daggers.

"What's going on?" I ask as we run through the halls.

"The dwarves are escaping." Tauriel said.

"Why are you bringing me?" I ask.

"To reason or to join them." Tauriel said. We come outside to see the dwarves going down the river. I ran ahead of Tauriel as I heard an elf horn. I wished I had my wings to go faster. I heard an orc screech. I swore in dwarvish as I moved faster. I was getting close as I pulled out my sword as Kili screamed in pain.

"Kili!" Fili yelled. I came out to see an orc leap at Kili. I pulled out my bow and shot an arrow hitting the orc in the chest.

"Celeste!" Dwarves yell as Tauriel comes out of the bushes. I run towards Kili, slicing orcs heads. I knelt next to him as Tauriel killed the dwarves. An arrow was sticking out of his leg.

"Stubborn dwarf." I said.

"Good to see you too." Kili groaned. I helped him towards the ledge where Dwalin and Fili were holding a barrow. "No the leaver!" I push him into the barrow.

"I got it." I said.

"Celeste no!" Dwalin yelled. I ignored him as I grabbed the leaver and pull it as Legolas and other elves. I heard the dwarves go down. I turn and join the elves in fighting off the orcs.

"You brought the fairy!" Legolas said.

"She belongs to the dwarves. Not locked up." Tauriel said. I saw another white orc ordering the dwarves, but he wasn't Azog. I raise an eyebrow. I follow Legolas and Tauriel up to the top of the guardpost as the orcs start following the dwarves. We kill the remaining orcs that remain. We ran down the bank of the river as we caught up to the dwarves. I spun and sliced off four heads. I shot an arrow at an orc that was coming at Dwalin. He turned and smiled seeing me running. Legolas jumps over the river and lands on two dwarves heads. I run and use air to fly over the river as Legolas jumps on dwarves head and land on Fili's head.

"Really, Celeste." Fili grunted.

"Well I know I can get away with it." I said, shooting an arrow at an orc that was coming towards us. I jump onto another head and another till Dwalin turned and I jumped into the barrow next to him.

"Ye alright lass." Dwalin asked as we continued to kill orcs that came at us.

"I'm alright. The red head elf was in charge of me. She's the reason I'm here." I said. Dwalin nodded as we finally lost the dwarves. The River calmed down. I pushed my hair out of my face as we paddle along in our barrels with our hands.

"Anything behind us?" Thorin asked.

"Not that I can see." Balin said.

"I think we've outrun the orcs." Bofur said.

"For now." I said.

"Not for long, we've lost the current." Thorin said.

"Bofur is half drown." Dwalin said.

"Make for the shore! Come on, let's go." Thorin said. We make it to the riverbank. I sigh as I pull myself out of the barrel. Dwalin came up to me and took my hands in his hands.

"I'm glad yer alright lass. I was worried." Dwalin said, pressing his head against mine. I hugged him.

"Stop worrying. I'm fine." I said. I lean up and kiss him.

"On your feet." Thorin said. Dwalin and I pull apart.

"Kili's wounded. His leg need binding." Fili said.

"There's an orc pack on our tail. We keep moving." Thorin said.

"To where?" Balin said.

"To the mountain. We're so close." Bilbo said.

"A lake lies between us and that mountain. We have no way to cross it." Balin said.

"So then we go around." Bilbo suggested. Dwalin chuckles.

"The orcs will run us down, as sure as daylight. We have no weapons to defend us, except Celeste who got hers." Dwalin said.

"Guess I will be the only one to live." I said, earning a chuckle from the dwarves.

"Bind his leg, quickly. You have two minutes. I stood looking at the water seeing I was a mess. A shadow falls on us. I look up to see a man holding a bow and shoots an arrow at Kili who was about to throw a rock at him. Dwalin grabbs me and pushes me bheind him. I look at the man as he puts another arrow to the bow.

"Do it agains and you're dead." The man said. The dwarves share looks.

AN: And in comes Bard and Celeste is back with the dwarves. Probably not the way you saw it. Till next time.
