"NOT AGAIN!!" Bob exclaimed. "RUN FOR IT, KIIIIIIIDS!!"
The children quickly ran from the lionesses, along with Bob. They ran through what seemed like an endless field, until they reached an enormous log that all five of them could fit into.
"I think we lost her..." Bob said, panting.
The lioness quickly shoved her paws into the hole, searching for vegetable flesh.
"Well, it's official." Percy stated. "WE'RE GONNA DIIIIIIIIIIIIIIE!!"
Bob covered the mouth of the little pea, the lioness gave a loud *"RAAAAAAAAAWRGH!!*" and continued to smash her paw into the log.
"AH'M GONNA—" Percy said, mouth still covered by Bob.
Bob instantly felt something liquid-y next to his body.
"Oh, great..." Bob groaned. "Not only are we in mortal danger, but you WET yourself?!"
Suddenly, the smashing stopped, and the veggies looked highly confused.
"—whu?" Percy said. Bob removed his "hand" from his mouth. "Are we dead yet?"
"No..." Bob said.
The veggies, one by one, looked out from the log.
A tall, slender banana stood in front of Bob and the kids. She carried a large spear in one of her peels, and wore an intricately decorated, colorful tube top and long skirt, decorated around the rim with cowrie shells and beads. She looked calm, stoic.
"Uh, hi!" Junior said. "Thanks for saving us—my name is Junior, this is Annie, Percy, Laura, and Mr. Bob!"
The banana woman raised an eyebrow at the small asparagus child.
Then, she started to hop away. She stopped and looked back, beckoning Junior and the other children to follow her.
"Well, guess we'd better go with her." Junior whispered.
"You seriously trust HER?!" Bob replied.
"Yeah." Junior said. "Why?"
"SHE'S GOT! A SPEAR!" Bob exclaimed, punctuating his sentence. "How do you know she's not gonna roast us on a spit or something?!"
"She did save us from that lioness." Junior replied.
"Oh." Bob paused, then gave a sigh and reluctantly followed the others.
