The End of the Beginning

The beast slowly walked to Ana as she stood in the center.

"Ana. If you stay there, you'll vanish." Hope said.

"That's fine." She said. "Just do your spell. My father and I don't belong in this world anyway." She said.

"Come on! You could live again. Have a new life. Start all over." Syaoran said.

But Ana only smiled. "It's alright. Jay and I will be fine. Just do it. Take us away. Let us be reunited with our family. My mother. My brothers. Please. Just let us be free." She said.

Hope didn't understand. The healing stone would keep her safe. Why was she doing this?

"Alright. If your sure this is what you want." Syaroan said.

"What? No! Syaoran." Hope yelled.

Ana nodded with a smile. "Set. Us. Free." She said.

Syaoran took in a breath and read the spell from the book.

"No! You can't do that! We're supposed to save them! Syaoran!" But no matter what, Hope wouldn't...Couldn't stop him.

She tried to reach over and save Ana and her father, but someone got in the way.

"What the- What are you doing?! No! I need to-"

"Shh." Hope looked up and she was staring into these deep dark brown eyes. This baby faced boy held her tight and close to him. She wasn't sure why she was staring so much. Or being so distracted by him. His black hair shined giving it that angel of the night effect.

"Who..."

"She must return to her family." He said. "Her and her father will turn to dust and never be with their mother and sons. She needs to be set free. Him and her father." He told her.

Hope didn't understand. But as she turned to see Ana, help freeing her father, the soul stone shattered. She died in a split second. Her father helped her up to the heavens. The stone killed him as well. The healing stone was not being used. Or so it was. Hope saw it was helping heal her. She had in in her hand while this boy held hers.

"What? But-" But in the blink of her eyes, he was gone. He vanished in the night. Who was he? We may never know now.

Soon the whole thing turned to light again. Hope went down on her knees. "Syaoran Li. What have you done?"

"I helped Ana be free of this earth." He said.

A few days later, Syaoran found old books that were hidden by the mom in the bedroom that were about Clow Reed. They explained that this stone was on of ten powerful stones of light. But there were also ten of darkness and one that was in-between.

Hope read about these stones on the plane ride home. Syaoran slept the whole way there. But Hope couldn't get that boy out of her mind. She's tried looking him up, but he didn't exist. "Who are you?" She asked herself. She would take her whole life, to find who this boy was.

And with that, comes the end of this chapter in Hope's adventure. She's still got her goal, and she's not giving up.
