Tauriel stepped outside as shouts and screams came. I helped get the girls ready. I grabbed my weapons and put them on me. Tauriel came back in
"We have no time. We must leave!" Tauriel said.
"Get him up." Bofur said. Fili and I run to Fili.
"Come on, brother." Fili said as we helped him off the table. My mind was racing, worried our other companions were alive or dead. I shook the thought out of my head.
"Come on, come on! Let's go!" Bofur said, panic in his voice.
"I'm fine. I can walk." Kili said.
"As fast as you can." Tauriel said.
"We're not leaving. Not without our father." Bain said.
"If you stay here, your sisters will die. Is that what your father would want?" I ask. Bain knew I was right. We run outside and dtowards a boat. Fili got in.
"Give me your hand." Fili said. He pulled me into the boat. I sit down.
"Come on, we gotta go!" Bofur shouted.
"Quickly now! Hurry." Tauriel said.
"Kili, come on!? Fili said. The kids got in and Kili jumped in. Oin and Fili started poling through the channel. I look up as Smaug swoops low overhead.
"Durin's beard." I whisper, watching him soar high above and away from the town. He turns around and dives. His chest was glowing orange. As he comes over the town. He unleashes the flames across the town. Tilda grips onto me as we watch. Screams of pain came.
"Just as Bard said." Bofur said. Smaug continues to burn Laketown. I hug Tilda as the dwarves pole through the channel.
"Look out!" Bain shouts. Our boat collides with the Masters. I grab Tilda and Bain from falling into the icy waters as Fili and Bofur push our boats apart. Treasure falls in the water.
"Move it! Move it! Come on faster! My gold, my gold." The Master shouted.
"You selfish greedy bastard." I yell. Tauriel motions and we continue moving.
Dwalin's POV. We stood on an overcropping watching as Laketown burned.
"Poor souls." Balin said. I paced with worry. I knew the others would get Celeste out safely. Gloin, Bifur, and Bombur looked worried as they had family still in Laketown. I felt a hand on my shoulder. "She will be fine, brother. The lads won't let anything happen to her."
"I hope yer right brother." I said. I saw Bilbo turn and stop, looking towards the Lonely Mountain. I step over and see Thorin looking towards the Lonely Mountain, not paying attention to what was happening to Laketown. I got worried, knowing what happened to his grandfather.
Celeste's POV. We poled through the channel stopping here and there till we knew it was safe.
"Da!" Bain sad.
"Da!" Tilda shouted. I looked up as Bard shot an arrow, hitting the dragon.
"He hit it! He hit the dragon!" Kili shouted.
"No." Tauriel said.
"He did! He hit the mark, I saw." Kili said.
"His arrows cannot pierce its hide. I fear nothing would." Tauriel said. I looked at Bain and grabbed him.
"Where's the black arrow?" I said. Bain looked towards the statue of the Master.
"That boat." Bain said.
"Stay here." I said. I pry Tilda off me. I jump up.
"What are you doing?" Bofur said.
"Celeste." Fili yelled. I jump and grab a hook and swing across the water. "Celeste come back! Dwalin will have my hide." I ignored him as I landed on the pier. I ran towards the boat. I dug through the nets until I found it. I grabbed it. I ran across the pier heading towards the bell tower where Bard was. Fire was spreading. I ran up the steps and find Bard laying on the ground.
"Bard." I said, popping my head in.
"Celeste. What are you doing here? Where are my children?" Bard asked.
"The dwarves have them and are getting them out of here. I come to help." I said.
"No! Nothing can stop him now!" Bard said.
"This might." I said, holding up the black arrow. Bard smiled.
"Celeste. You go back. You get out of here now. Get back to your dwarves." Bard said. I looked over his shoulder and see Smaug approaching and fast.
"Bard!" I shout. Smaug smashes into the tower and I hit the floor, holding the black arrow. Bard grabs it from me and stands up. I look up as Smaug lands closeby crushing buildings underneath him.
"Who are you that would stand against me?!" Smaug roared. Bard grabs his bow and I gasp seeing it was broken in half. I sit up. "Now that's a pity. What will do now, Bowman? You are forsaken. No help will come." Bard looks around. Smaug begins walking towards the tower, crushing the buildings beneath him. He licks his lips as he spots me. "Is that your child? You cannot save her from the fire. She will burn." Smaug continues to approach. Bard fixes the two broken halves of his bow into the wall with the bowstring taunt between them. He grabs me and puts me in the middle of them with the black arrow on my shoulder. I could hear Smaug approaching.
"Stay still, Celeste." Bard said. I nod, as I bit my lip.
"Tell me, wretch. How now shall you challenge me." Smaug said. I saw a look of shock on Bard's face.
"What is it?" I ask.
"A missing scale. Girion hit his mark" Bard said with a smile. I smile.
"You have nothing left, but your death!" Smaug said, howling. I turn my head to see him approaching much faster.
"Celeste. Don't look at him." Bard said. I looked back as I took a deep breath. Bard was straining with effort, holding the bow. "A little to your left." I move slightly to the left. "That's it." Bard let's go of the arrow. I turn and watch as the arrow flies and hits Smaug right in the spot.
"YES!" I yell. Smaug leaps forward in pain and fear. Bard grabs me as Smaug careens towards towards the tower, knocking it. We fall towards the water. I swam to the surface fast to watch as Smaug flies in the air. He was screaming in pain. His eyes that were glowing went dark. The dragon was dead. Bard surfaces as we watch as the dragon fell and hit the water. I sigh in relief. The dragon was dead.
Dwalin's POV. The sound of something hitting the ground echoes to us. I jump as I look towards Laketown.
"What was that? What happpened?" I said.
"It fell. I saw it." Bilbo said. We all peer out at the early morning light. "It's dead. Smaug is dead." I sigh in relief as Balin and I smile at each other, but I still had worry about Celeste and the others.
"By my beard! I think he's right. Look there! The ravens of Erebor are returning to the mountain." Gloin said. Birds were cawing as they approach the Mountain.
"Aye. Word will spread. Before long every soul in Middle Earth will know. The dragon is dead!" Balin said. We laugh and I turn and Look at Laketown.
"Hope your alright, Celeste. I'll see you soon." I whisper.
AN: I bet you weren't expecting me to do that. Thought I would change it around. Till next time
