I stood on the balcony watching the dwarves search for the jewel. Thorin was pacing behind me.
"Any sign of it?!" Thorin yelled.
"Nothing yet." Dwalin said
"Keep searching!" Thorin said
"That jewel could be anywhere!" Oin said.
"The Arkenstone is in these halls. Find it!" Thorin said.
"You heard him. Keep searching!" Dwalin said. Dwalin looked up and met my eyes. I shook my head at him and he knew I was fustrated with this.
"All of you. No one rest until it is found!" Thorin called. I turn and head to look around Erebor. It was beauiful. Columns were knocked down from the fight with Smaug. I found large doors. I push them open and found the library of Erebor. I grin as I walked along the shelves.
"Celeste." Dwalin called. I come out behind a shelf and saw Dwalin standing there. "Balin had a feeling ye might have came looking for the library." I come up to him.
"Thorin isn't the same." I said. Dwalin looked at me sadly.
"Yes, love. He isn't himself. He has the Gold sickness that consumed his grandfather." Dwalin said. I pulled him into a hug which he returned. "I'm glad your here. I was so worried." I stand on my tippie toes and kiss him. He returned it.
"I'm glad I'm finally in Erebor and with you." I said. Dwalin smiled.
"Come. We are supposed to talk with Thorin." Dwalin said. I follow him to the throne room where the throne that held the Arkenstone stood. A claw mark was on top of the throne. I stood beside Dwalin. Throin had his back to us.
"It is here in these halls. I know it." Thorin said.
"We have searched and searched." Dwalin said.
"Not well enough!" Thorin said.
"Thorin. We all would see the stone returned." Dwalin said.
"And yet, it is still not FOUND!" Thorin said. I put a hand on Dwalin's arm as he seems sad. He put a hand on mine.
"Do you doubt the loyalty of anyone here?" Balin asked. Thorin turns towards us and walks towards us. "The Arkenstone is the birthright of our people." Balin said.
"It's the King's Jewel." Thorin said. I flinch as he starts shouting. "AM I NOT THE KING!" Dwalin, Balin, and Bilbo looked uneasy. "Know this. If anyone should find it and withhold it from me, I will be avenged." Thorin walks away. Dwalin and I walk towards the gate. He looked out as he sighed.
"I'm worried about this. The Arkenstone is gonna make him worse." I said. Dwalin sighed but nodded.
"I'm sure it will. We still got to find it. But who knows where it is." Dwalin said. I saw movement in the ruins of Dale. I moved forward.
"Dwalin." I said.
"I see them. I'm going to let Thorin know." Dwalin said, kissing my check. He went to get Thorin. I stood watching as men, women and children coming into Dale. I sigh sadly. I heard movement and see Thorin coming with the Company. I come down as Thorin orders for them to baricade the gate. Dwalin came over.
"Go to the library. Balin and I will deal with Thorin if he asks or complains where you are." Dwalin said. I kissed him and go to the library. I sat on the couch with a book in my hand. It laid untouched in my lap. I was worried. Worried for the Company, worried about Thorin, and worried of what was coming. I had a feeling that we din't see the last of the orcs.
