Chapter 1

"Come on Elsa!" Anna exclaimed dragging her sister. "Anna slow down!" Elsa giggled as she tried to keep up with her sister. Anna reached the doors to a room and threw them open.

"Anna, this is mother and fathers room." Elsa said turning her sister around. "I know." Anna said pulling her sister in. "I thought we agreed to never come in here." Elsa said looking around at the books and piles of things that had collected years of dust.

"We did but I thought maybe you want a thing or two to remember mother and father since you live in the forest now." Anna said pulling out on of their mothers old dresses. "I've seen that dress before." Elsa said running her hand over the fabric.

"It's the dress she wore that night she sung us the lullaby about Ahtohallan." Anna said turning it around to look at it. "They really liked to read." Elsa said walking over to one of the bookshelves.

"They really did." Anna sighed looking at the other dresses. Elsa leaned over and went to grab one of the books but it didn't move. Elsa pulled and pulled until finally she leaned on the book cause the bookshelf move revealing a secret room.

"Uh Anna you may want to come see this." Elsa said taking a step back. "What." Anna said turning around. "Whoa!" Anna exclaimed running over.

"It's a secret room." Elsa said stepping inside. "Why would they need a secret room?" Anna asked also looking around. "Who knows." Elsa said looking through one of the trunks. "Elsa look." Anna said running over holding a book with a leather cover.

"What is it?" Elsa asked taking the book. "I don't know open it." Anna said looking watching as Elsa slowly opened the cover. "It's someone's journal." Elsa said flipping through the pages.

"Whose?" Anna asked her eyes filled with excitement. "Mothers." Elsa said recognizing her mothers handwriting. "It's about her." Elsa said handing Anna the journal. "We should read it." Anna said holding the book close to her chest. "What, no!" Elsa exclaimed walking out of the secret room.

"Why not?" Anna pouted. "Mother obviously hid it for a reason she didn't want anyone to read it." Elsa said turning around. "Elsa, mother would have given it to us at some point besides mother isn't here anymore and it's not like we don't know she's Northuldra." Anna said walking towards Elsa.

"Fine but can we read it in the morning I'm tired." Elsa said taking the journal and putting it down. "Yeah but we are reading it tomorrow." Anna jokingly scolded. "I promise." Elsa giggled.

The two sisters walked away and went to bed.

"Anna go away it's only three a.m." Elsa groaned looking at the clock on the wall. "I can't the sky's awake so I'm awake, plus I really want to read the journal." Anna said still shaking Elsa.

"Ugh fine come on." Elsa said sitting up in bed so Anna could climb in. "Are you ready?" Anna asked putting the journal in between them. "Ready as I'll ever be." Elsa said rubbing her eyes.

Anna opened the journal and began reading. "Dear Journal, Agnarr got me this for my birthday he said I could write how I was feeling, adventures I went on, and any discoveries I made. I decided my first entry would be about me and my new life here in this kingdom called Arendelle."

"I miss my mother more than anything but I did what was right what mother would have wanted me to do, I saved Agnarr I wonder if I will ever tell him probably not. It's weird being friends with a king but since I am I get to live in the palace and I don't even have to work."

"I turned thirteen today Agnarr is fourteen but he'll be turning fifteen in a couple months. Agnarr keeps asking about my scarf it's hard to lie to him. He's to nice it's like he can see right through them. Well I don't really have anything else so I'll write you tomorrow."

"I never knew mother was so free spirited." Elsa laughed. "Can we read another page?" Anna begged. "No Anna go back to bed, we'll read another page soon enough." Elsa said lying back down. "Ok, goodnight Elsa." Anna said walking towards the door.

"Goodnight Anna." Elsa said falling back asleep. Anna left the journal on Elsas nightstand. When she reached the door she closed behind her and hurried back off to bed before Kristoff woke up to realize she was gone. Anxious to read another chapter Anna quickly went to sleep hoping the morning would come fast.
