Chapter 27 The Battle

Alvin tried choking me as I struggled to get free from him.

"Where's your precious dwarves now?" Alvin asked. I brought my legs up and pick him hard in the chest, kicking him off me. I coughed as I grabbed my weapon and stood up.

"Leave them out of this. This is a fight between you and me." I said. I stomp the ground hard and sent earth flying at him. He flew out of the way. He grabbed and flew up in the air.

"Your weak. You always been weak. Just like father." Alvin snarled. I grabbed my dagger and slash his face. He screamed and dropped me. I use air to help me land. Orcs came running and I slash their heads off as Alvin land in front of me. I spun and met his sword.

"I'm weak. You were always the weak one when I was skilled at sword and arrow while you ran like a cat with a tail between its legs." I said as we met blow to blow. His blows were weak. I saw the men leave for Dale as Orcs were attacking the women and children. I kicked Alvin in the head and he falls. I swing the sword in my hand and bring it to my side.

"You are on the wrong side, Celeste. The flames of the west will ignite and everything will be destroyed. The world of men, elves, and dwarves will fall and you will die along with them. You cannot the line of Durin." Alvin said. He came up to me and I punch him in the face. He grabbed me by the hair and I headbutt him hard. He punched me hard and I hit the ground. My sword was inches from me.

"You will learn one thing that Azog never told you. The Line of Durin will not so easily be broken." I said. He yells. I grab my sword and flip over and drove it right through his heart. He gasped as flood fell on my face. "Goodbye brother." I push him. I stand. Orcs were still battling the dwarves and elves. Alvin laid dead at my feet. I was now the last fairy on Middle Earth. I turned my face to the sky and let out a scream of pain and grief.

"Where's Thorin? We need him! Where is he?" Dain yelled. I turned and saw Dain not far away, fighting on the ground.

"DAIN!" I yell, killing an orc as it came at me.

"CELESTE?! I thought that was you with Gandalf. Why aren't you with the Company and where is Thorin?" Dain asked as we fought side by side.

"The gold sickness has taken over. He threw me out when I tried to snap him out." I said, stabbing an orc in the chest.

"As we feared." Dain said. We were being surrounded.

Dwalin's POV. Its was bad enough seeing the battle between her and Alvin and now she was fighting with Dain near the gate. I left my post and head towards the throne room.

"Brother?" Balin called. I ignore him. Thorin was sitting on the throne as I approach him.

"Since when do we forsake our own people? Thorin, they are dying out there." I said, coming to a stop in front of him.

"There are halls beneath halls within this mountain. Places we can fortify." Thorin said. I looked at him disappointed and angrily. He was lost to us. "Shore up, make safe. Yes. Yes. That is it. We must move the gold further underground to safety." Thorin walks away from me.

"Did you not hear me?! Dain is surrounded and Celeste is fighting with him. They're being slaughtered Thorin! I can't sit back and watch my one be killed. She barely survived Alvin." I said.

"Many die in war. Life is cheap. But a treasure such as this cannot be counted in lives lost. It is worth all teh blood we can spend!" Thorin said.

"You sit here in these vast halls, with a crown upon your head, and yet you are lesser now than you have ever been." I said.

"Do not speak to me as if I am some lowly dwarf lord. As as if I were still Thorin Oakenshield. I AM YOUR KING!" Thorin roars as he pulls out his sword. He almost falls over. I look at him sadly.

"You were always my king and ye were Celeste's as well. You used to know that once." I bow my head in sorrow. "Ye cannot see that ye have become. I'm sorry my king." I punch him hard in the face. He hit the ground. I look at him, knowing he would either kill me for what I had just done or snap out of it. He looked up at me. His eyes seemed to clear.

"Dwalin. What have I done?" Thorin said. I come over and help him up.

"Ye weren't yourself. It was the gold sickness." I said. Thorin put his hand on my shoulder.

"I'm sorry my old friend. Thank you for what you did. I will see that Celeste is back under my care and you and her together. Now come. There is a battle we need to join." Thorin said. I smile as we head to the front gate.

Celeste's POV. The battle was going badly.

"FALL BACK! FALL BACK! TO THE BARRICADE! FALL BACK!" Dain yelled. The remaining dwarves begin retreating towards the gates of Erebor. I run with Dain back to the gate. A horn blows and the orcs regroup to march on us. I stood with my sword in my hand standing next to Dain. The dwarves set up a desperate shield wall in front of the moat by Erebor's gates. The orcs line up by rank. Several heavily armored trolls shoulder their way to the front of the Orc ranks. Another horn blew as I bit my bottom lip, praying to Mahal that we would survive this. Another trumpet is heard. I turn and see Bombur standing on top of a wall, blowing a horn. I smile as the orcs stop in confusion.

"Thorin." I whisper. A statues smashes its way through the baricade. Rocks fall forward and make a bridge across the moat. Thorin runs out with the Company right behind him. THe dwarves make way so the Company could pass. Fili grinned when he saw me and grabbed my arm and I joined the Company.

"TO THE KING! TO THE KING!" Dain yelled as we charge our way to the orcs.

"DU BEKAR!" Thorin said. I yell as we clash with the orcs and start fighting. We were going to win this battle after all. We just needed to cut the head off of Azog.

AN: WHEW. My favorite part of the movie when Thorin joins the battle. Till next time
