In this chapter, I hope to show some of what has happened and introduce Harry.

Over the years as Albus's companion, Fawkes was able to discover the source of the wards was at the school that Albus would eventually become the headmaster of and learned that the wards were bound to a Basilisk, whose hide had been strengthened by the centuries so only a holy or demon sword would be able to puncture it, or the power of one of the heavenly dragons, and to a room he could never discover, much to his irritation.
In 2001, over a century since Dumbledore had first summoned him, Fawkes finally saw a gleam of hope in a young magi who also held at least one sacred gear, and was shocked when Albus had given him a second or perhaps third, he was unsure as that gear along with a second one that Albus had taken from his lover after beating him in a duel, had him confused as it was not on the inside like others were. This was brought even clearer when in 2002, this young magi went and somehow pulled the sword Ascalon from the magic hat, that he had been compelled to bring into the chambers of the basilisk before he used it to kill the basilisk, and nearly dying in the process. However as the young magi had done irreparable damage to the nearly thousand-year-old wards Fawkes felt indebted to him and so used some of his families ionic magic and purged some of the poison out, unable to purge it all, but felt the poison and his magic had found harmony in the Magi's blood. Then to make things even more impressive the youth destroyed a cursed artifact that felt evil, even for devil standards, by using the same venom. After bringing the young Magi to the healers, Fawkes decided to see how much weaker the wards were by going deep into the forest and trying to summon his wife and queen.
"Anael Queen of Fawkes of House Phenex I call upon you to come to my side," Fawkes said as he stood in his human form before he placed a runic circle on the ground and smiled as the circle turned fire orange before growing and then a fire erupted from the middle before vanishing leaving a light-haired woman looking around very confused while her back was towards Fawkes.
"Where am I, how did I get here, no one has been able to summon me since…" The woman said before turning and seeing Fawkes and after squealing jumped into his arms after he put one foot into the circle.
"Anael, my queen, it has been much too long, I have missed you," Fawkes said as he held the woman close to him.
"My king, where have you been this past century, the House of Phenex has sent numerous search parties looking for you, but about ten years ago they stopped realizing you were most likely dead, though none of our family had thought so, yet we were losing hope, the only reason we had not is because our bonds were still there, Anael said happy to see her husband again.
"I would have been too, I was summoned by a Magi, with whom I have been with for the past little over a century, I have tried to contact or summon one of you before, but have been stuck in my Phoenix form, until yesterday," Fawkes said not letting her go.
"What, how is that even possible, the Satans have been trying to break these wards for nearly a millennia, how were you able to be summoned through?" Anael asked in shock.
"If my understanding of the wards is correct, Magi can bring Devils or other powers into the wards, but once in they are trapped, which would explain where the House of Dracula had gone as they are among the Magi, as are the moon children of Fenris, Merfolk, Centaurs, Giant spiders, lesser dragons, and veela," Fawkes said simply.
"Then how did you summon me? You are not Magi," Anael said firmly.
"I also learned the Wards originate from the castle, where the Magi that bound me to him leads. It has been in the years that I have been at this castle that I have come to understand the wards are bound by two or maybe three things, one of which was a basilisk with a hide only able to be penetrated by a holy or demon sword, and the other to some room in the castle that I cannot find," Fawkes said before deciding to kiss his queen once more before she could ask another question.
"What changed, if you cannot find the room how did you weaken the wards, I was not aware you had a holy or demon sword," Anael asked after she broke the kiss due to running out of breath.
"Indeed, however, there is a young Magi, with huge potential and having at least one maybe two normal sacred gears, and a weird sacred gear which is kinda a cross between a gear and a sacred sword, sorry getting off-topic, well this young magi went and killed the basilisk with Ascalon the Dragon Slayer, which he pulled from a magic hat, in order to save a young female magi who seems to lust after him for his fame," Fawkes said calmly.
"Wait a magi is helping destroy the wards, I thought they hated all of the other powers?" Anael said confused.
"Well about that, the world has no mention of any of the factions nor of the wars in the past, nor about the wards, they know nothing about the wars that have taken place since the creation of Midgard, nor of the origin of their species, and quite frankly from my conversations with the centaurs and giant spiders, who do remember some of it, they don't care either," Fawkes said calmly.
"Well then, why don't I go with you and we can find the room and finish destroying the wards, and then we can let the devils know to offer contracts and thus making our faction the strongest of the three as we will have so many magi," Anael said before moving to leave the summoning circle and found herself unable.
"Well crap, it appears that while I can summon you, I cannot bring you completely through the wards, you can only be within the circle, damn. Well, this gives me even greater desire to bring down the wards completely, Anael, return to the underworld and inform Father, the other fourteen of my peerage, and Lords Tisan Lucifer, Pason Beelzebub, Halaz Leviathan, and Falbium Asmodeus, of what I have learned," Fawkes said before Anael laughed.
"I suppose I forgot how long you have been lost, Tisan Lucifer challenged Sirzechs Gremory to a Rating game ten years ago, due to Sirzechs desiring to take his daughter Grayfia as his queen, and needless to say Tisan lost and in the process also lost his title and head, so Sirzechs is now Lucifer, Halaz died in a fight against Azazel and Serafall Sitri quickly swept in and took his place, and Pason got lost in the underworld for a few decades before Ajuka Astaroth found his remains after killing a hell hound, and so was awarded the title, do you want me to tell them instead or do you want me to tell the remains?" Anael asked cheekily.
"Oh how I wish I could bring you out of that circle so I could spank you for your cheekiness, go and share with the four Satans, the rest of the peerage, and my family what I told you and I will continue trying to find how to finish breaking the wards," Fawkes said calmly.
"Oh one more thing before I go, you have another sibling about the time that everyone gave up on finding you, your mother had a daughter who is named Ravel who is 12 right now," Anael said before kissing Fawkes once more before the circle activated again before she vanished.
"So it is true, I sensed that something had changed and if a devil can summon another devil then it is clear the wards are weakening, thank Gods," A centaur said approaching Fawkes.
"Firenze, I had not heard your approach, how much of my conversation did you hear?" Fawkes asked upon recognizing the centaur.
"All of it I heard the summoning as I was nearby and so decided to see if it would be successful, as we have not had any means to contact Chiron in five hundred years and so hopefully we can once more contact our first father. May I ask though who the young Magi was that performed the deed?" Firenze asked cautiously.
"Harry Potter, and what also is interesting is he gave Albus the sword, and as soon as he set it down it vanished," Fawkes said calmly.
"So Harry Potter has yet another interesting feature to him it appears, do you wish for me to inform the other trapped races of the new developments?" Firenze asked anxious to hear the devil's thoughts.
"Yes, please do, I know that some of your brethren have treated Harry badly in the past, and I do not think it wise, I know he has at least two sacred gears, and should be able to call upon Ascalon at any time, as it claimed him as its lord," Fawkes said after a few minutes of deliberation.
"Of course, my Lord Phenex," Firenze said before Fawkes returned to his Phoenix form and returned to the school.
Fawkes is an amalgamation character of Fawkes the Phoenix from Harry Potter, and the Second Phenex son from DxD, who is never named. Unlike his younger brother Fawkes did not solely make his peerage of women to fuck, but made it of people he cares for, and so is more respected among the Devil Leadership that Rizer.
