Son of Tartarus-Chapter 7

Disclaimer: NOTHING belongs to me. PJ belongs to Rick Riordan.

A/N: What do you think Percy's relationship with his father should be like? (Keep in mind, Tartarus is going to be OOC)

This is chapter 7. Hope people enjoy!

'This is me thinking'

"This is me talking"

Previously

"We think that, well, we think your father is" She took a gulp of air and looked around nervously, "Tartarus" It was barely a whisper but Percy heard it anyway. He froze. He couldn't believe it. His world started spinning and he stumbled back. Then, for the second time in two days, he passed out.

Now

When Percy woke up he was greeted with some freezing cold water.

"Are you sure that's safe" Calypso's worried voice reached his ears, "I mean, that water's from the river Cocytus"

Damasen shrugged, "The rivers of the Underworld shouldn't effect him, he could basically take a swim in the Lethe and not be affected, hell, he could take a dip in the Styx and come out alive!"

"Ugh" Percy moaned as he sat up, he was dripping wet. He saw a grinning Damasen and a concerned looking Calypso in front of him, "Did you have to do that?"

"Nah, but I couldn't pass up the opportunity" Damasen grinned, "And the fact that our alright means we were right!"

"Right about what…" And then Percy remembered. Calypso's theory about his father. Calypso's theory that his father was Tartarus.

It was crazy. It couldn't be. Yet everything made sense because of it.

"Your theory" Percy said simply.

"Yes, and it seems I was right" Calypso said.

"Holy Hephaestus" Percy sat there, stunned, "Are you absolutely positive?"

Damasen nodded his head, "I'm a hundred percent sure"

"Wait. So your telling me that my father is Tartarus"

"Yes" Calypso confirmed.

"And we're in Tartarus right now"

"Yup" Damasen said.

"So I'm currently in my father" Percy gasped, "Damn, that is so weird.

"Well, yeah, I guess you are" Calypso said.

"That's gross," Percy made a disgusted face, "You know, after discovering Greek mythology was real, I got sent on a quest for Zeus master bolt. I didn't think my life could get an weirder, but then I met you two and it did" He took a deep breath, "I feel like freaking out right now but I think if do you'll hit me on the head and I have no desire to be woken up again with a bucket of ice-cold water"

"Zeus lost his master bolt?" Calypso suddenly looked interested.

"Yeah, they think someone stole it"

"That's interesting" Damasen mused, "Who could have taken it?" The question hung in the air, unanswered, until Damasen clapped his hands together, making Percy and Calypso jump, "But that's not our problem, right now, we need to figure out how to get you out of here"

"What?" Percy looked confused, "Get me out of here?"

"Yes," Damasen said impatiently, "We need to get you out of here"

"Wha-but how?" Percy was stunned. He had thought that there was no way out of Tartarus.

"Well," Calypso shot a nervous glance at Damasen, "We're paying a visit too Tartarus"

Annabeth/Luke

Luke tried to be brave. He really did. For Annabeth. He had put on a brave face and told her everything was going to be okay. But on the inside he was breaking. He had seen many demigods go on quests and never return. He had seen Thalia, who was like a sister to him, go down fighting. But Percy didn't even have that honour. He just fell. Falling into. Tartarus was the worst fate a demigod-Hades, not just a demigod, it was the worst any immortal or mortal-could be sentenced to.

"Luke" Annabeth's voice was distant and jerked him out of his thoughts about Percy, "We're here" Annabeth looked around. She examined the palace of Hades with a scrutinising eye. She marvelled at the architecture and can't help but be impressed by the beautiful structure.

Luke squeezed her hand gently and stepped up to the gates which were guarded by skeletal warriors. Before he could go any further there was a rustling of wings and three creatures with leathery bat-like wings, mouths filled with disgusting yellow fangs and glowing eyes. They each held whips in their hands and had malevolent smirks of their faces.

"Furies…" Annabeth whispered, she had a terrified expression on her face.

The furies cackled and the one in the lead spoke, "Look what we have here! Two demigods in the underworld!" She sniffed the air, "Children of the Olympians as well! A daughter of Athena and a son of Hermes!" She opened her wings fully and swept towards them. They involuntarily took a step back, "Now, what would two demigods such as yourselves be doing down in the Underworld?"

Luke opened his mouth to answer but Annabeth beat him to it, "We would like an audience with Lord Hades, please"

The fury grinned, showing all of her teeth, "Oh, you'll get an audience alright, Lord Hades will be deciding your fate"

Percy

Percy was incredibly confused. No, he wasn't confused, he knew what was going on. Or maybe he was confused. He wasn't sure what he was but he knew one thing. His life was completely crazy. But that was typical for a demigod. Except, he wasn't a demigod because his father was Tartarus, a Primordial god. Or was he? Tartarus was a god, right? Okay, he was definitely confused.

He sighed. He, Damasen and Calypso were standing in the area surrounding Damasen's house. Lots of wide, open space. They didn't know where to actually find Tartarus so they were going to try calling for him. Names held power, especially this close to Tartarus's physical body. It seemed like a stupid idea. Probably because it was a stupid idea.

"Tartarus!" Damasen roared, "Tartarus!"

"He sounds like he's swearing," Percy whispered to Calypso, "Demigod style"

Her lips curved upwards slightly but she shushed him, "Let Damasen do his thing, keep quiet!" Percy raised an eyebrow but stayed silent after that, letting Damasen do his 'thing'.

Damasen continued shouting into the depths of Tartarus, trying to get the attention of Tartarus. Hopefully (maybe not) he heard them, wherever he was. Percy zoned out and his thoughts drifted towards Luke and Annabeth. He wondered what they were doing. He was about to ask Damien how much longer they had to wait for when there was a flash of purple flame and a man appeared.

The man had windswept black hair and purple eyes. Eyes that seemed to shift and change, pulsing with fire.

"Damasen," He spat, scowling, "Why have you called me here?"

Damasen didn't reply. Instead he simply gestured towards Perseus and Calypso. Tartarus turned to look at them and his eyes seemed to pierce through Percy, as if gazing into his very soul. Tartarus face suddenly drained of all colour.

"Perseus" He whispered.

A/N: First thing I want to say is this; Tartarus is different and OOC. He doesn't look like the actual Tartarus (I just made him look like how I did because that's how I imagine his physical form would be) and won't behave like him. I like to think that over the years he's had to admit the gods have done a pretty good job running the world so doesn't really hate hate them but still dislikes them. Percy doesn't look like him (he still has greenish eyes) but why he doesn't look like his dad will be cleared up in the next chapter.

So I managed to get a chapter up every day since I started this story so far (at least in my time zone) so I'm pleased with myself.

I hope you enjoy reading this story!
