Shikamaru's Adventure: Sinnoh

Time: Early Afternoon

Route: Floaroma Town

"Floaroma Town." Shikamaru stated as he and Sakura walked through the main gate into town, his gaze stayed on his Pokégear. He had finally able to get back on track of his schedule and now, he is able to find a perfect spot here to take a long spot. His father commented how the air here smelled delightful and the flowers only added to it. "We could spend up to two to three days here."

"So… many pretty flowers…" Sakura said in complete awe the sight before her. Growing up in a coal mining town, never once did she ever take in a deep breath without her lungs being filled with soot or rock dust. Right now, she felt her lungs thanking her for this breath of fresh air. "Is that a flower shop!"

"Uh…maybe?" Shikamaru suddenly felt himself being tugged by his arm as Sakura dragged him towards a flower shop. Ugh, why does this feel like deja vu? Ino would always drag him and Choji into her family's flower shop whenever they visited her. "There goes my sinuses."

"Come back anytime now!"

"We will! Thank you!" Sakura waved at the woman that owned the shop as she and Shikamaru walked off. Instead of being a flower shop, it was a berry shop. They were given watering cans and their packs are filled with berries. "I've never seen so many berries in one place."

"You never went out, did you?"

"…No."

"Got it."

Sakura and Shikamaru walked side by side, wondering around the town taking a break from their journey. They could go out to train, appreciate their surroundings, and so on. Just a simply bre-

"YOU!"

Sakura raised an eyebrow when she saw Shikamaru grumble under his breath and saw him turning around. She turned around to see a someone a blonde around their own age carrying a Piplup and holding a younger girl's arm, running towards them. "You know them?"

"I don't know the girl. The idiot in orange is Naruto Uzumaki. My self-declared rival."

"Self-declared rival?"

"I don't know… at least he's better than the other one."

"…. How many rivals do you have?"

"It depends. It depends on if I consider them rivals or if they consider me to be their rivals without them telling me."

"How many."

"…I lost count."

"I need your help, Shika… who's the chick? Is she your girlfriend?"

"No. She's not my type."

"I can't believe you dragged us into this!" Sakura hissed at Naruto, pulling at him by his ear.

Shikamaru attempted to ignore his current companions going back and forth on who's the blame for their current predicament. They were currently fighting Galactic thugs that had keys to Valley Windworks. Apparently, Naruto was recruited by the young girl who mentioned that her father was taken in as a hostage by Team Galactic and needed help. Naruto ran head on but met with a barrier after defeating the first grunt. A lock door.

Apparently Grunt A, mentioned two of his buddies were in a meadow by the town. Here they are retrieving the key after they admitted defeat once their Pokémon were knocked out. Grunt B and C ran off, without another word.

Now the trio were heading to the Windworks, the young girl had opted to wait in town until things cleared up.

"It doesn't matter why or how we got dragged into this. Sakura remember we faced a couple of them back at Jubilife. As troublesome it is, we have to figure out what's going on." Shikamaru muttered aloud, he pulled out a Pokéball and called out Abra.

"Abra!" Abra cried out as she was called out, she looked up at Shikamaru to sense how tense he was. "Abra?"

"I need you to go up ahead and make sure we are not going in blind."

"Abra, Abra, Abra!" Without another word, Abra teleported out of sight.

"Do you think we are going to run into trouble?" Sakura asked, tightly gripping Rosie to herself.

"…More than likely. What a drag."

Standing in front of the main entrance of Valley Windworks, Shikamaru, Sakura and Naruto wondered why a group of pajama wearing weirdos would want with this place.

"Why would people want to take over this place?" Naruto wondered aloud, he watched as Shikamaru pull out the key that would open the door and walk towards said door.

"From what I read, this place harnesses wind energy to convert it into electricity." Shikamaru muttered, he scratched his head as he tried to figure out why he allowed himself to be pulled into this mess. It wouldn't be the first time this sort of things had occurred to him either.

"Hm… could Team Galactic want to use this energy?" Sakura questioned, humming as she thought over why Galactic wanted the place.

"It could be for that reason." Shikamaru stated as he pushed open the door, he raised an eyebrow at the sight of a familiar grunt that stood in front of them. The grunt let out a yelp at the sight of them, he ran off yelling out that he was going to warn his commander. "Well… this got interesting."

"I'm one of Team Galactic's three Commanders. We've been trying to create a new world that's better than this one… But people have shown little understanding about what we do. You don't understand either, do you? It's a little saddening… So let's have a battle to decide what we should do next. If I win, you leave. If you win, we, Team Galactic will leave!"

It was a team effort. Mars and two grunts were going up against the preteens. It took them a while to take them all down but once it was done, there were more questions than answers. Apparently, some other man by the name of Charon, informed Mars they have gathered the energy needed for their project and they place was no longer needed for their plans in the long run. Without another word, Team Galactic left without another word.

Shikamaru poked around the computers to hopefully look for more clues onto what is happening. It appeared they managed to delete everything that was part of their plan… they did however leave behind a cryptic message.

"The bringer of wars... Your target is the energy of the power plant.
The bringer of contentment... Your target is the Pokémon statue of Eterna City.
The bringer of aging... Your target is the Pokémon that sleeps on today.
The dream energy.
Team Galactic."

'This… doesn't sound good.' Shikamaru thought to himself.

"My young detectives in training!"

Shikamaru cringed as she turned around, he saw Guy running into the lab causing everyone to turn around and cringe at his appearance. The man that Shikamaru and co. were sent to rescue quickly left with his granddaughter took their leave, leaving the others behind. "What are you doing here?"

"I heard there was an attack on the Windworks, I came here to run them off. However, it appears they are nowhere to be found?"

"We ran them off, Old Man." Naruto said as he puffed out his chest, his Piplup copied his actions but couldn't pull it off.

"Oh…Hm… I guess my work here is done!" Guy gave the kids a thumb up and a blinding white smile. The preteens cringed at the sight before them. "Now I must go to Eterna City, there's a rumor that this Team Galactic has a hideout there. Until Next Time!"

Guy ran off down the hall and out of the building leaving behind bewildered kids that can't make head or tails of him.

"How do you guys know him?" Naruto asked Sakura and Shikamaru.

"…I don't know."
