Son of Tartarus-Chapter 11
Disclaimer: NOTHING belongs to me. PJO and HoO belong to Rick Riordan.
A/N: As promised, here's the second chapter for today!
Hope you enjoy reading it!
'This is me thinking'
"This is me talking"
Previously
Percy
"Annabeth, what's wrong?" Percy asked.
Annabeth looked up with tears running down her face, "It's Luke" She gasped, "He's gone"
Now
Annabeth
After Percy had finished telling everyone about what happened to him in Tartarus the councillors filled out and went back to whatever they were doing before Chiron had called the meeting (most of them were training and/or fighting). Percy hadn't told them everything though, he was clearly hiding something. Annabeth would've liked to find out what it was that he was hiding but respected her friend's (she considered Percy a friend) privacy.
She had gone to find Grover, her satyr friend. She found him talking to a wood-nymph named Juniper. She had left them be as they looked like they were having fun and began to look for Luke (she wanted to have sparring match and Luke was currently the best swordsman at camp and he was also her very good friend). She had checked the climbing wall and the Arena but he wasn't there.
Annabeth walked towards the Hermes cabin and knocked on the door. There was no answer so she opened the door and stepped inside. Her glance was unintentionally drawn to where she knew Luke's bed to be. To her surprise the area around the bunk was bare.
Annabeth couldn't see any of Luke's belongings strewn across the bed like they normally were. She walked closer and saw a piece of paper lying on the sheets. She walked closer to the bed and picked up the paper. It was a note. Her eyes quickly scanned the writing and her hand flew to her mouth to hide her gasp of shock.
Annabeth ran to the Big House, note in hand, tears streaming down her face. She burst into the meeting room (the one with the ping-pong table) and found Chiron, Percy and the girl (who she'd guessed was Calypso) having a discussion. They broke of abruptly when they saw her and Chiron stared at her, his brow furrowed in concern.
"Annabeth, what's wrong?" Percy asked, a concerned look on his face.
"It's Luke" Annabeth managed to gasp out in between tears, "He's gone"
"Gone?" Chiron trotted over, "What do you mean?"
Instead of answering Annabeth handed him the note. Chiron's eyes scanned it then widened then read it again.
"Oh dear" Chiron said, "I'll have to alert the gods"

Percy
After Annabeth handed Chiron the note and he finished reading it Percy wanted to see what had made Chiron so upset. Percy had asked what was on the note and Chiron had handed it over wordlessly. Percy's eyes widened as he read what was written.
I'm sorry. Annabeth, I love you very much and I'm sorry. I am the thief. I was the one who stole the master bolt and the helm. Kronos is rising. He got into my head, said that my father didn't love me and that if I helped him he would help me. I believed his lies. The truth is, I did hate my dad. I did feel as if he didn't love me. I felt unwanted. But when I went on the quest with you and Percy and my dad left me a gift, I realised I was wrong.
Annabeth, I hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me but if you don't that's fine. I don't deserve your forgiveness. I'm sorry I've run away but Ares will tell the Olympians it was me. They'll probably find me but who knows, maybe they won't. Maybe I can leave all this behind. I'm not going to join Kronos but I can't help the gods either. They won't forgive me.
Again, I'm sorry. I'm sorry Chiron, Percy, Annabeth. I'm sorry dad.
Luke Castellan
Luke. He was the betrayer. The prophecy was right. 'You shall be betrayed by one who calls you a friend'. Percy stood there, completely still except for the haggard breaths he was emitting. He was crying. Crying silently for the loss of his friend. It was then that Percy made a promise. He would find Luke and help him. He would hide Luke from the gods and keep him safe. Percy swore to himself that he would find Luke again.
And so the prophecy was fulfilled. 'You shall go West and face the god who has turned'. Done that. Ares was the traitorous god. 'You shall find what was stolen and see it safely returned'. Also check. They had found the helm and the master bolt and had returned both. 'You shall be betrayed by one who calls you a friend'. That also happened. Luke had betrayed them. 'And you shall break your promise in the end'. Percy knew he had broken a promise, but he couldn't remember what it was.
Percy walked over to Calypso and they left the Big House. They travelled a safe distance into the forest before Percy pulled them into shadow.

Jason
Jason Grace was tired. He had just returned from an incredibly hard quest to retrieve the Golden Fleece. He found it kind of ironic since the fleece was first taken by the original Jason. He was tired because upon his return his comrades had thrown a big party and celebrated the return of the questers (Jason, Gwen and Reyna). Romans sure knew how to throw parties but they were exhausting. Now all Jason wanted to do was have a good nights sleep. His head hit the pillow and he instantly fell asleep.
Jason woke up on the top of the Eiffel Tower. He wondered what he was doing there. Maybe a god wanted to speak with him? But what god would talk to him at the Eiffel Tower? Perhaps Venus? But gods rarely associated with demigods so it probably wasn't one of them. But why was he here?
Jason looked around, gazing at his surroundings when a movement caught his eye. His hand instinctively went to his pocket, ready to pull out his coin (which transformed into a golden gladius or javelin), before he remembered he was in a dream.
The shadows of where a movement had caught his eye parted and he saw a black haired boy and a girl with caramel coloured hair appear. With a jolt he realised that he recognised them from the beach earlier today.
Jason watched them closely as the boy leant towards the girl and whispered something in her ear. It must have been funny because she giggled and the boy sat there, taking in the view, unaware that they were being watched.
After a few minutes, at least, what seemed like minutes to Jason (it could have been hours for all he knew), the boy offered his arm to the girl and she took it. They disappeared into shadow, travelling somewhere else.
The dream didn't end there though, and Jason was left to his thoughts. Jason looked at the view. He had to admit, it was stunning. He wondered who the boy and the girl were and why he was dreaming about them.
He knew this was a demigod dream (he just did) but he was unsure as to why his dream was showing him the teenagers he'd seen earlier. Demigod dreams weren't random, they happened for a reason. But what this reason was, Jason wasn't sure.
Jason woke with a start. His dream had ended rather abruptly. He lay in his bed, thinking of what the dream could have possibly meant.
A/N: So the Romans are going to come into the story pretty quickly (Keep in mind Frank and Hazel haven't arrived yet).
Anyway, hope you enjoyed this chapter!
