Weeks passed and much to Ciels growing anger, he wasn't able to escape, and it was becoming clear that a skittish runt wasn't what anyone was looking for in a pet or slave. The new laws were loose on the treatment of his kind. He had watched many others come and go, the workers doing their best to try and work with him, coax him out when a potential client wanted to see him, but he remained distant, not wanting to trust any of them.

This morning was the same as the rest, he woke up, waited to be fed and then hid in the back corner of his cell waiting for the day to pass.

Sebastian looked down at his phone as he entered the building, his fiance was messaging him before turning in for the night. The two of them had been apart for nearly six months now and the distance was getting to the both of them. The pair had decided to pick out a pet for each of them in the respective countries as their business while growing extremely fast was going to keep them apart for the next year or so, with little time to visit. Sebastian smiled and pocketed his phone after sending a final good night message before looking for a shelter worker to help him. He walked up to the front desk and ran the bell, taken back by a fiery young lady who came rushing from the back, "Hello! I'm Grell! How can I help you today, handsome?" she winked at him as she brushed back the long red hair that had fallen in her face.

Sebastian ignored the compliment, pulling out his phone again and showing her an intake image of a small cobalt blue hair aninoid, " I was wondering if this little one was still here. I read on you site that he needs some extra training and I think he would be a perfect distraction for me"

Grell looked at the image responding in an annoyed voice "That one?"

Sebastian nodded, "Yes I think he's just adorable. Big bi-colored eyes, slender tail and form." He looked happily at the photo, everything about the creature was wonderful, "I don't mind training him."

The woman looked him over and shrugged, "I'll have him moved to a viewing room, he's hard to handle so my lovely fiance will be out to advise you on what will be needed during viewing" She then motioned to the waiting area, "He'll be out shortly."

Ciel hissed at Ronald and the Undertaker, both of the men had come into his cell, catching poles in hand. The small aninoid had pressed himself into the corner of the room making it hard for them to try and hook him. They had both been trying for a solid twenty minutes before William showed up, "What's taking so long, this is the first time in weeks we've had an actually interested client."

"Sorry boss, he's not making it easy." the blonde responded.

William sighed and waved the two off, taking the catch pole from Ronald as he passed, " I'll take care of it."

Sebastian heard the wailing and hissing long before the door to the room he had been placed in was opened, the shelter worker for earlier came in looking disheveled, dragging the small aninoid behind him. The door was shut and locked, and William let the creature go, who immediately went to the far corner of the room and curled up.

"Like I mentioned he is completely feral, the ID tag in his ear let us trace him back to the TTT foundation, our best guess is he was one of the few who escaped before the purge when the new laws came to pass." William stood by the door watching carefully.

"Oh he's one of the laboratory bred aninoids? That would explain his color."

William nodded "And size, he's full grown."

"Really, that's nice," the raven haired man gave the aninoid a glance, "How old is he?"

"Aninoid years five which is around twenty-five in human terms;at least physically he will retain the mannerisms and mentality of a kitten his entire life. Trainable since he is older, but he will alway carry that natural curiosity and hopefully playfulness you would see in a feral kitten," William replied, shifting as he watched the feline, "I am afraid that this is as close as you are going to get to him in here, I was hoping he would relax a bit, but he's stubborn."

Ssebastian smiled and stood up from the bench he was sitting on, he walked slowly over to the corner Ciel had claimed as his, chuckling softly as the small creature hissed at him, he crouched down and let the aninoid try to scratch him. His claws were dull, filled down by William and the others in the shelter. They left nothing but soft red marks on Sebastian's face, he smiled and reached a hand out and rubbed one of Ciels pinned ears.

Ciel froze at the touch, it was the first time in years that a human touch hadn't hurt or led to pain. Sebastian used this time to pull him into his arms and stand up, cradling the lad in like a one would a young child.

The feline didn't know how to react, he hissed but didn't strike out, his tail flicked to show his annoyance, William watched intently, this being the first time the aninoid allowed any human contact without screaming bloody murder.

"See, a little soft soul once he calmed down, just like I thought he would be." Sebastian said with a soft smile.

Ciel had, much to his own disgust, started to purr. He did wriggle out of the man's arm and went back to the corner, though he just sat against the wall staring at the two humans in the room. At least they weren't going to hurt him.

Sebastian made a sad scoff as the aninoid escaped him, earning an eye roll from said creature, "Prideful little kitten when he's not petrified."

"Yes, that behavior is what I remember dealing with when he was running feral in the streets," William replied, straightening his glasses, "Would you like to start the paperwork or would you rather have a look around at the others we have for adoption?"

"I'll start the paperwork on him."

Ciel narrowed his eyes as the two humans left, locking him in the viewing room, "I'm not a kitten" he snarled to no one.
