Witcher TV

The Witcher is a TV series exclusive to Netflix, based on the Witcher series by Andrzej Sapkowski. He serves as a creative consultant on the show. Announced on May 17, 2017, and its first season comprises 8 episodes released on December 20, 2019.

The Witcher

The Witcher is a role-playing video game for the PC, developed by CD Projekt RED and published by Atari. Based on The Witcher series of the same name by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski. The game uses BioWare's proprietary Aurora Engine released in October 2007. An enhanced edition of the game appeared in September 2008. In the first 10 months following its release, the game sold 800,000 copies worldwide. A console version using a new engine and combat system supposed to release in Fall 2009. The development suspended until May 6, 2009. The title was Witcher: Rise of the White Wolf.

The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings

The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings is a sequel to The Witcher, developed by CD Projekt RED and released on May 17, 2011. Like the original game, it happens after the events of Andrzej Sapkowski novels.

Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is the third and final installment in the series of games developed by CD Projekt RED. It features the Witcher Geralt of Rivia. The game supposed to appear for release in late 2014. They pushed back to 24 February 2015, and finally released on 19 May 2015. During the first two weeks since release, it had sold over 4 million copies worldwide. More than doubling the total sales of its predecessor, The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings.

Witcher 3: Hearts of Stone

Hearts of Stone is the first add-on adventure for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Released on 13 October 2015 for all three major platforms: PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

Witcher 3: Blood of Wine

Blood and Wine is the second and final expansion for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Announced on April 7th, 2015, along with the Hearts of Stone expansion. Released on May 31, 2016 for all three platforms: PC, Xbox One, and Playstation. On Nintendo Switch the release date was October 15, 2019.

The conjunction of the Spheres

A cosmic cataclysm, over 1,500 years before the story begins. Collided several parallel universes, trapping many "unnatural" beasts and creatures. They remained in this dimension, along with magic. Elvish legends believe Humans first appeared after the cataclysm.

Sorcerers & Sorceress

Mages attuned to and educated In controlling "Chaos", the magic of the world. As a Councilor Lodge, often mages sided with royalty as appointed advisors. Even when was the target of persecution through "witch hunts". Also, society rejects the use of arcane arts.

Witchers

Warrior monks trained and mutated to hunt monsters. Expert fighters, adept alchemists. and able to harness magic through signs. They raise Witchers to stay distant from politics and social issues. As the world has fewer beasts, so too the need for Witchers.

The Wild Hunt

Spectral wraiths and the omen of death. They reported appearing in winter and after a bloody conflict, abducting souls. Many theories exist on the Wild Hunt, and some do not consider hem anything more than an Illusion. Escaped abductees, yet, tell tales of strange alternate worlds, unicorns, and Elven gardens.

Elder Blood

A genetic program started by Elven mages to create a gifted child whose power would exceed their own. According to the prophecy, the Child of Elder Blood will one day save the elves from annihilation. The last carrier of Aen Hen Ichaer, Lara Dorren aep Shiadhal, bonded with a human. This shattered all plans about her offspring.

Geralt of Rivia

Geralt of Rivia was a legendary Witcher of the School of the Wolf, active throughout the 13th century. He loved the sorceress Yennefer. He considered the love of his life despite their tumultuous relationship. Also, he became Ciri's adoptive father.

Yennefer of Vengerberg

Yennefer of Vengerberg, bornt during Belleteyn in 1173. She was a sorceress who lived in Vengerberg, the capital city of Aedirn. She was Geralt of Rivia's love and a mother figure to Ciri. She viewed as a daughter to where she did everything she could to rescue the girl and keep her from harm.

Triss Merigold

Triss Merigold of Maribor was a legendary Temerian sorceress of the 13th century. Called Fourteenth of the Hill by her contemporaries. This happened because they thought dead during the Battle of Sodden Hill. She passed into history as Merigold the Fearless. A member of King Foltest's royal council along with Fercart and Keira Metz. Also, was a founding member of the Lodge of Sorceresses, involved in politics for most of her life.

Keira Metz

Keira Metz of Carreras was a sorceress and former advisor to King Foltest of Temeria. She had a role held by Triss Merigold and Fercart. She was fond of luxury, despised the dirtiness of the outdoors, and was rather eccentric.

Ciri

Cirilla Fiona Elen Riannon, was born in 1252 or 1253, and most likely during the Belleteyn holiday. She was:

- the sole princess of Cintra,

- the daughter of Pavetta and Emhyr var Emreis

- Queen Calanthe's granddaughter.

Eskel

Eskel was a Witcher of the School of the Wolf taught by Master Vesemir at Kaer Morhen and active in the 13th century. As the sorceress Triss Merigold noticed, Eskel emanated a strong magic aura. Though less famous than his peer Geralt of Rivia, Eskel became renowned in his own right. Renowned as a professional, reliable Witcher, and possessing a kind and relaxed disposition.

Lambert

Lambert was one of the younger Witchers from Kaer Morhen. Known for his biting tongue, he was often rude in conversation. He was rude towards Triss Merigold. It addressed her only by her last name, which irritated the sorceress. He does not have much use for politics, a trait common to most Witchers because of their code of neutrality. He helped train Ciri in the art of combat. He is one of the last Witchers trained within the walls of Kaer Morhen.

Vesemir

Vesemir was the oldest and most experienced Witcher at Kaer Morhen in the 13th century. He acted as a father figure to Geralt and the other Witchers. Like many other Witchers, he spent each winter in the fortress and set out on the path when spring arrived.

Avallac'h

Crevan Espane aep Caomhan Macha, was an elf and Aen Saevhern. He could travel between the worlds of the Aen Elle and Aen Seidhe. He met Geralt and told the Witcher about a prophecy connected with Ciri.

Lara Dorren

Lara Dorren aep Shiadhal was the daughter of Shiadhal and Auberon Muircetach. She was an elven sorceress who fell in love with Cregennan of Lod. He was a mighty human mage, after the Conjunction of the Spheres. Their union was very controversial for both races.

Regis

Emiel Regis Rohellec Terzieff-Godefroy was a very powerful higher vampire. He was more than four hundred years old when he first met Geralt of Rivia. Regis was the barber-surgeon of Dillingen. Also, was an intellectual for one in such a profession.

Villians

Eredin

Eredin Bréacc Glas, also dubbed Sparrowhawk by the unicorns, was an Aen Elle elf. He was commander of an elven cavalry known as the Wild Hunt. As its leader, they knew him to most as the King of the Wild Hunt. Eredin was a high-ranking general in his world until he killed the king and became his successor.

Auberon

Auberon Muircetach, King of the Alders, was the king of the Aen Elle elves, an Aen Saevherne, and ruler of Tir ná Lia. He wanted to "take back" what Cregennan stole from the Aen Elle when he took Lara Dorren, Auberon's daughter. To do this, he had Ciri, a descendant of the two lovers, brought to him and groomed to produce an heir. He was not brutal, but nor would they would dissuade him from his goal.

Caranthir

Caranthir Ar-Feiniel, also once known as the Golden Child, was a navigator of the Wild Hunt. He was one of Eredin Bréacc Glas' most trusted men.

Imlerith

Imlerith was a warrior of the Wild Hunt, and one general of Eredin's army. He wielded dominant power. Imlerith was one of the most formidable opponents Geralt encountered. Geralt and Imlerith were also acquaintances during Geralt's service with the hunt. The Hunt's second general alongside Imlerith was Caranthir Ar-Feiniel.

Nithral was an elven warrior and a member of the Wild Hunt

Falka

Falka was the oldest daughter of Redania's King Vridank and his first wife, Beatrix of Kovir. Yet, when her father met the beautiful Cerro, he divorced Beatrix. He sent her and one-year-old Falka packing and back to Kovir. Forgotten, she determined to take back what she believed belonged to her as the eldest child. She began her infamous rebellion 25 years later. Three years after King Goidemar of Temeria and Riannon married.

Gaunter O'Dimm

GOD, Master Mirror or Man of Glass, presented himself as a former merchant of mirrors. As one might suspect, he was a much more powerful individual. He made pacts with people for their souls and being able to control time with a mere clap of his hands.
