A/N: The year before big changes. I thought to do this cause I have a four year old cousin and she's quite playful so I thought to add a chapter/letter? about Duncan interacting with Lilith I guess. Plus it's a chance to make the other characters become involved as well I guess.
Till next time,
D.L.D
P.s. I thought these would be longer but putting them all together, I feel like it'd be weird. So I thought each chapter will be a new year/letter from that year I guess.
3rd Year- She's always full of surprises
Sorry it's been a while, Pasty. I've been pretty busy with Lilith and making a living isn't easy!
Everything's been fine for the past two years. Yes, I've been counting. You always used to tease me about how soft I was. Guess you were right. Lilith's mellowed me all the way through. Even Courtney tells me I'm getting soft.
Everyday after daycare Lilith's always bursting with energy telling me about what happened. She always has some crazy new story. Kinda reminds me of when we were on Total Drama. Speaking of the show, can you believe Chris tried to get us onto a new season?! Luckily, most of us rejected and the contracts weren't valid, however I have a feeling the creep has something planned. He always does.
Since today was nice and sunny, I went to the park with Lilith. She seemed cheery, like always, humming as we walked and sometimes pointing out something she saw. We cam across a caterpillar earlier. Her reaction was so precious.
"Butterfly!" Her eyes were wide with awe and she smiled widely, "Can we take it home?"
"It's not a butterfly yet," I chuckled, as I shook my head, "Plus it belongs here."
"Awww!" She pouted, "Please?"
We ended up having a mini-debate about it until we ended it with ice-cream. It's afternoon's like these that I kinda feel better about you being gone. It makes me feel like maybe I can get by without forever feeling empty. But when the rain eventually falls covering the sunlight, just like this afternoon causing us to rush home before we ended up getting soaked, I realise that I can only numb the pain.
Luckily, Lilith doesn't remember much. I'm pretty sure it'd be hard for me to tell her everything. But I'll have to tell her someday and that's what scares me. She'll realise that most of her friends probably have their moms around, while she's just got her dad. When that happens, I'll have to tell her. I just don't know how yet...
I wish you were here, Sunshine. Then I'd know what to do. You always had an answer to stuff like this.
Still missing you more than ever,
Duncan
