Moonwave stepped into the large room, which she had been allowed to pick beforehand. She had chosen a random room, and she didn't know who she was going to stay with, but that just made it all the more exciting to her.
In the room, lining the walls, were three rock ledges, two of which were currently being occupied by two SandWings. Well they looked like SandWings.
The one on the far left raised her head, and Moonwave could see hints of pale pink and orange dancing through the pale yellow. This was a MirageWing. The second one also lifted his head, all sorts of colours dappling his scales. A DawnWing, most likely.
"Hi there!" they both greeted Moonwave.
"Hi!" she said back "I'm Moonwave. What are your names?"
"My name is Rosepetal," the MirageWing replied "And this is my brother, Ash."
Ash sat up and nodded to Moonwave.
"Nice to meet you, Rosepetal and Ash." Moonwave said happily, a grin spreading across her face.
Both the dragons turned back to what they were doing, and Moonwave started to organize her things. The pol in the centre of the room had been made specifically for her, so she wasn't surprised to see that it hadn't been paved or filled yet.
She set down her supplies, and started to painstakingly cut the shards of glass she had into the right shapes. By the time it was afternoon, she had piles and piles of dark blue, purple and silver glass lying next to her.
Moonwave wasn't that great at mosaics yet, so she jumped at the opportunity to practice. She stuck the shards into the bottom of the pool, trying as hard as she could to replicate a SeaWing. Later on, Ash and Rosepetal Started to watch, amazed at Moonwave's artistic skill.
By the time the stars had started to appear, the artwork was finished, and the pool had been filled. Moonwave stood back to admire it, pleased that it actually looked like a dragon, rather than her last attempt at a mosaic.
"Do you know who else is coming to stay here?" Moonwave asked Ash and Rosepetal as the started to settle down.
"No." they both answered, excitement shining in their eyes.
Moonwave climbed into the warm, clear Water, relishing the feel of it on her scales as she fell into a peaceful sleep.
