So, I'm.. "remaking" this story. I would like this story to go on further, mostly because I'm bored lol. But it's worth a shot!
Glinda was awakened from her sleep by the chirping of birds outside her window. As she opened her eyes, she was greeted by the bright, shining sun in her face. The blonde groaned and moved the stray curls away from her face. "Oh, I hear you. 'Get up!', You say."
Glinda slipped out of bed with a huff, moving over to her vanity. She looked into the mirror, sighing. The witch squinted. She could have sworn she had seen a faint vision of a person. Elphaba..
"You looked beautiful as always, my love.." The vision whispered in Glinda's ear, disappearing in an instant. The witch started to tear up, her own vision growing weak. "Elphie.." She whispered, feeling tears spilling down her cheeks. The blonde looked away from the mirror, sniffling and wiping her tears away. She returned to her bed, wrapping blankets around herself. Glinda repeated the same words over and over again;
"Come back, Elphie.."
"You can't catch me!" Glinda giggled, hopping over rocks and dodging other pedestrians. Elphaba followed close behind, slipping through groups of people and ducking under store signs.
"I'm faster than you, little girl!" Elphaba said with a smirk. Glinda gasped and halted, turning around and folding her arms. "Little girl?!" Elphaba took this opportunity and tackled Glinda to the ground . Both girls laughed and snorted, standing up and walking normally.
"Elphaba, 1, Glinda, 0." The green girl gave Glinda a smug smile, to which the blonde pouted. "Well, you only won because you called me little!" "That's because you are little, my love." Glinda stepped in front of the girl, placing her hands on her hips. "Am not." Elphaba copied the small girl, hovering above her. "Are too." "Am. Not." Glinda glared at her. "Are. Too." Elphaba glared back. Glinda started snickering, covering her mouth. Elphaba couldn't help but smile.
"You're so goofy." Elphaba shook her head playfully, picking Glinda up. Glinda only giggled and said, "As long as I'm with you." Elphaba rolled her eyes and kissed the smaller girl softly, smiling and carrying her back home.
Glinda woke back up later in the afternoon, sighing. She missed that memory.. That Elphaba was still here.. She wanted to stay asleep forever, if it meant being with her love. Glinda shook her head and rose from her bed, getting properly dressed and pampered. She stepped out of her room and out into the hall, the castle filled with noises.
Maids were dusting shelves and mopping floors, guards were marching down the halls, their armor clanking. The cooks downstairs were busy as well, preparing dinner for Glinda. The witch took a breath and walked down the stairs, Bowing and smiling at everyone she passed.
"I hope you're all having a splendid day." Glinda said sweetly. "I will take a long stroll outside. No, no one shall accompany me, thank you. Keep at your work, don't let me bother you." She hurried over to the front doors, opening one of them slowly. The blonde looked around. She hadn't been outside for at least three days. Glinda stepped out, quickly moving to the cemetery.
As she stepped passed the gates, she felt a wave of sadness over her. The cemetery was not a happy place, especially for the reasons she went. Glinda walked over to a large grave with many flowers covering it. She peered at the tombstone. It said,
Here Lies Elphaba Thropp.
Even the Wicked deserve rest.
Glinda knelt, until she was sitting completely. "Hi, Elphie.." The blonde smiled. " I.. I-I had the dream again.. The one about us acting like fools.. " She laughed slightly, before looking at the tombstone sadly. "I need you here, Elphaba.. I can never forgive myself for what I've done.. I sent you to your grave.. All because I wanted to keep my title.." She dried her eyes from stray tears. "But I promise not to make the same mistake ever again. We live and learn, that's what you would have said.." She smiled.
Glinda looked up at the sky, the baby blue color slowly making it's way to navy blue. The witch sighed and stood, wiping the dirt off of her dress. She smiled down at Elphaba's tombstone, one last time. "Goodbye, Elphie.. I love you." She said , before walking away, back to the castle. But a quiet voice stopped her..
"I love you too.."
So.. Yeah 😅 This story was based off a song I used to constantly listen to. Back when I was very sad and alone.. But now I have a girlfriend and wonderful best friends! Hooray!
