AN: How does the AA gang cope in quarantine? Will probably start with WAA and move to other characters throughout. Just a short drabble exercise for me, that can hopefully amuse.
He had always thought it would be aliens.
Yes, Apollo had always believed it would be aliens to get human kind on the same page. Aliens to burn, blow up, and abduct people, forcing all humans to team up against the extraterrestrial force. It was a long shot, therefore by his standards impossible. Though, he didn't tell anyone that, except for Clay. He had to maintain his sane man approach.
Anyway, he could have never anticipated that what would get people, force them to give a damn about each other, and break his routine was germs.
It shouldn't have surprised him.
Apollo had always known people were nasty. While he didn't condone any of Kristoph Gavin's actions, he could agree with his sentiment that people were generally disgusting and unhygienic and that one ought to take great means to protect themselves from such people.
He wasn't really sure when it had exactly happened- for one day he was spending a regular day in the Wright Anything Agency dealing with whatever shenanigans Mr. Wright and Trucy put him through-to another day shortly after, being encouraged to stay inside holed up with Mr. Wright, Trucy and-
"Herr Forehead," called the honeyed tone of the specimen that could only be referred to as Klavier Gavin. "Shouldn't we head out soon for groceries, jah?"
Apollo looked up from his journal, placing his pen down with a sigh. It could only have been fate that him of all people got stuck with them. He had no problem staying with the Wrights even if it meant being away from home for some time. He had already spent plenty of nights over by this point. And while he would never admit it out loud, he was starting to view them as a kind of second family.
On top of that, he was certain Mr. Wright and Trucy wouldn't survive without a decent meal, since neither of them could cook worth a lick.
"Yeah, I guess so," he replied dourly.
The blonde bent over with his hands on his hips and a wide smile. "Come, on. It won't be that bad. With the two of us we should finish sooner rather than later, jah?"
Curse his optimism. The young defense attorney was not happy to go out in the thick of it all. But Mr. Wright and Trucy were tidying up to make room for the both of them. The least they could do was run to the store.
"You have your car, right?" Apollo asked.
"Were you hoping to ride with me on my hog?" Klavier teased, playful pulling the strands of his silky blond hair.
His cheeks felt warm. "Whatever," he said standing up from his desk. "I'm going to suit up."
The German prosecutor raised a brow, but Apollo paid him no mind as he hastily brushed past the taller man into one of the rooms in the back. He had left his belongings back here. He had to dig through some old clothes and other junk until he found exactly what he was looking for.
When he returned 10 minutes later, Klavier was impatiently waiting by the door car keys in hand. "What took you so lo-"
The sight of Apollo turned the usual prince charming speechless. The blue eyes had widened, before he promptly broke out into hysterics.
"What is so funny?" demanded Apollo. Unlike Klavier, he was going out prepared for any and everything.
"Herr Forehead, you look like you are ready to go on a walking tour in a rainy city that's been polluted by smog," he said wiping away a tear.
The younger attorney folded his arms. He was fully equipped with a bright red poncho, yellow rubber gloves, and a big mask that covered his mouth and nose.
"I see someone knows their primary colors very well," remarked Mr. Wright emerging from his room, looking at Apollo with a smirk.
"Well, I'm the one going out there, unlike someone," he said in defense of his protective gear.
"True, very true," Mr. Wright said, with a sideways glance of boredom. "Anyway, here's a list for you two before you go out. So we can make as few trips outside as possible."
He passed Apollo the brief list, written with chicken scratch. A cursory glance revealed the primary focus of a variety of instant ramen noodle packs and frozen pizzas.
Apollo couldn't help but roll his eyes. Yes, he'd definitely add his own items to this abysmal thing. If the virus didn't kill, he was sure this kind of diet would...
"Be safe out there," Mr. Wright said before vanishing back into his room.
"You certainly will be dressed like that," Klavier grinned at Apollo.
"Just shut up and go," he said ripping the door open and storming down the hall. They could laugh at him all they wanted, but Apollo Justice was ready. And Apollo Justice would be fine.
