Michael and Kitt was on their way back to the foundation from a mission in Montana, Michael was laying back in the seat asleep while Kitt was doing the driving. It has been 36 hours since Michael got some sleep so Kitt let's him sleep while he takes over the driving.

Michael has been asleep for 24 hours when the console started beeping indicating a call also waking Michael up with a groan. "What is it Kitt? Michael asked still trying to wake up.

"I'm sorry to wake you Michael. I was gonna let you sleep but Devon forced the call through." He told his driver feeling bad for waking up Michael when he needed sleep.

Michael adjust the seat sitting upright, "It's fine Kitt. What time is it anyway?" He asked noticing it was dark.

"It's 6AM Michael. I tinted the windows where the sunlight won't wake you." He said, he worries when Michael doesn't get enough sleep.

He yawned as he wiped his eyes and heard the console beep again, "Alright. Alright." He said as he pushed the over head button to patch the call through and the face of Devon appears on the screen. From the looks of it, he doesn't seem to happy, he looks concerned, scared even.

"Devon? What's up?" Michael asked noticing the look in his face, making him concern a little.

"Michael. I'm afraid I have some news for you. It's-It's your mother. Samantha Long." He said making Michael look at Devon with a look.

"What about her? Devon?" He asked as he was wide awake now that his mother was mentioned. The last time he saw her was the night he died.

Devon sighs, "I'm sorry to break this to you dear boy, but your mother, she's very ill and she doesn't have much time." He said as Michaels face showed sorry.

"What?" He asked whispered as he pulled over to the side of the road and shut off the engine. "Well, H-How long does she have?" He asked trying to not let his tears do so he takes a deep breath.

Devon closes his eyes, "The doctors are saying in a matter of days." He admitted as he looked at Michael with concern. "Michael?" Devon called but Michael cut off the transmission and got out of the car and leaned against it as he let tears slide down his face.

"Michael? Are you okay?"Kitt asked but received no answer. "Michael?" He asked again with a little sorry in his tone.

Kitt doesn't know what it feels like to have a mother that cares for you. Bonnie in a way is his mother and she cares for like he was here own. But Michael's mom? She was sick, and from what he gathered if you lose a mom they don't come back.

"Michael?" Kitt asked in a quiet tone. After a few minutes he gets a reply.

"Yeah Kitt?" Michael replied with a sad tone and Kitt can tell that he's been crying.

"I don't know much about having a mother. What I do know is that when you lose a mother who made you the way you are well…." Kitt said not knowing what to say.

Michael sighs, "It's okay Kitt. I don't know why I am crying over a woman I hadn't seen in three years. I want to see her so bad, so many times. But I couldn't risk it. Because we made enemies pal." Michael said as he sniffed and wiped his eyes.

"Michael? From what I have learned. Rather you know her or not. She's still your mother." Kitt said as Michael let out a sigh.

"Well, she's not my mother. Mean she is but, she's Michael Longs mother. I am Michael Knight." He told Kitt. He asked thought of visiting her thousand times.

Kitt opened the door, "Michael. Rather your Michael Knight or Michael Long. The woman is still your mother." Kitt told him hoping it would pursuit him of visiting his dying mother.

Michael calms down a little and gets back inside the car. "Kitt. Plot me the fastest course to Las Vegas." He ordered as he shifted the car into drive and was on his way to visit his mother.

A few Hours Later

Once Michael made it to the hospital where is mother was being kept, he shit off the engine but made no move to get out and this concerned Kitt, "Michael? Are you okay?" He asked his driver who has been silent the entire ride.

Michael takes a deep breath, "I-I don't know Kitt. I don't know if I can do this." He admitted as he laid his head back.

"Michael, I know how hard this must be, but of you don't visit her, then you will regret it in the near future." Kitt told him trying to convince him to do it.

Michael nodded, "It's Just-I haven't seen her in over three years Kitt. I'm scared." He confessed to his buddy.

"I will be right there with you Michael. It's okay to be nervous." Kitt told.him as.Michael nodded and opened the door as he got out.

He looked at himself to see he was wearing a white shirt, his leather jacket, along with some black pants and boots. He stretched and then closed the door.

"I will be right back." He said as he takes a deep breath and walked towards the doors.

He walked up to the front desk, "His, my name is Michael L-Knight. I am here to see Samantha Long?" He asked as he cursed to himself to almost telling his old last name.

The nurse nodded, "Are you related?" She asked Michael. The man shook his head.

"No. I am an old friend of her son. I wanted to see her before, I heard about her condition. Can I please see her?" He asked almost begging. He k ows its childish but it was his mother.

Once he got the room number he started making his way towards the elevator. He presses the 13th floor and waits as the elevator lifts him to the floor he chose. Once the door opened he walked out and found the room he was looking for but stopped dead in his tracks when he saw who was outside of the room.

It was his brother. Johnathan Long. Oh how get wanted to hug the man but restrained himself from doing it. He takes another breath and walks forward. "Uh, excuse me. Is this Samantha Longs room?" He asked his brother. It sounded weird saying it that way.

John looked up, "Who are you?" He asked, Michael almost smiled. His brother was always protective of their mother.

"My Name is Michael Knight. I-I was a friend of your brother. I wanted to see her before…" He explained as he waits for approval.

John gave him a look of understanding along with some sadness. "You knew my brother?" He asked Michael.

The Foundation man nodded, "Yeah. I did. So can I see her?" He asked as John nodded and opened the door to let him in.

Michael was hesitant but walked inside and his breath hitched as he saw his mother. Long brown hair and her tan skin. He swallowed and walked up towards the bed. "Hey Ms. Long." He greeted sounded weird to use it even though she was his mother.

"W-who are you?" His mother asked in a raspy voice.

Michael pulled up a chair and sat down as he looked at the woman, "I'm Michael Knight" your son he wanted to say but couldn't. "I was friends with your son. Michael Long." He added as he saw the confused look.

"H-he never told me about y-you." She replied. Michael nodded.

"To be honest, there is really not that much to say." He admitted with a short chuckle.

The woman nodded, "Y-you sound familiar. Do-do I know you?" She asked with a whisper. Michael shook his head.

"I'm sorry. I don't think so" Michael admitted with a sad smile. He wanted so bad to tell her everything. But, even though she's dying and she needed to know, he just can't do it.

The Woman nodded, "S-So Mr. Knight. What-what do you do?" She asked, curious to know more about this young man.

Michael sighs, "I work for a private organization. It's where we help police with cases that is above their experience." He told her telling a semi-truth.

Samantha smiled, "Y-you remind me of him. My s-son." The woman commented as Michael smiled and looked down.

He felt a hand on his and looked up to see she was holding his hand, "It's okay M-Mr. Knight. I-I am prepared to go. I-I would be with my son." She told him with a smile.

Michael nodded, "I better get going. It was nice to finally meet you….Ms. Long." He said as she nodded and waved at him. He got up and walks over to the door but not before giving her one more look and then left.

24 Hours Later

She's dead. His mother is dead. He had gotten a room at a motel, so right now he was sitting on the bed in his 3 piece black suit with no collar or bow tie. Today was the funeral and even though he's Michael Long it still feels weird.

He got his glasses and head out to Kitt. He got in and closed the door. "Michael?" Kitt asked as Michael looked up.

"What is it buddy?" He replied wondering what's on his partners mind.

"What was she like? Your mother?" Kitt asked in a low tone afraid that he would overstepping his boundaries. Michael let out a smile and told him everything about his mother while he was driving towards the funeral home.

In the distance stood Michael Knight under a tree and watched the funeral. He didn't want anyone to ask questions like Who was he? How did he know Samantha? Questions he can't answer.

Behind a pair of his sunglasses Michael let's the tears fall asleep he watched the coffee of his mother being lowered I to the ground. Suddenly, he was filled with guilt. He didn't tell her who he really was. That his son was next to her but living the life of a different man. Devon, called him on the way to the funeral to give him condolences. Michael was lucky to have friends. A family like: Bonnie, Devon, and Kitt.

When everyone left, he took a deep breath and walks up to the newly fresh grave and stood there for a minute. He then looked to the left and saw his thumb stone. Michael Arthur Long. Written in the stone. He never gave much thought about his "death" but there's plenty of time to dwell on it. For now he just wanted a few minutes with his mother, mentally kicking at himself for not telling her the truth. "Goodbye mom." He whispered. He turned and walked away along with the secret that will never be revealed.
