Her lips felt like heaven when interlocked with mine. So soft and just glorious. Her vermillion hair fell over her face and her nose crinkled up adorably. We were in my bed but nothing too extreme for our age. Both of us still fully clothed and sweaty. She laid on top of me, in control, running her tanned fingers through my black hair.
Vanilla and cinnamon. She smelled like vanilla and cinnamon. She whispered my name and I almost moaned out loud. It was so fucking hot. I placed my hands underneath her skirt and on her bottom. She gasped in delight and rubbed both of her hands over my muscles. I was elated. The way she looked at me was so alluring. She gave me a hot, open mouthed kiss.
Her whole demeanor changed, her eyebrows became more angry? She said my name but not like the first time. She called me,"Dick," and not,"Richard." I looked up at her confused and upset that we had stopped our make out session. Her hands gripped onto my broad shoulders and she shook me constantly.
he wanted to scream for her to get the hell off of me but, she looks so pretty when she's mad. Too bad she was mad at me. I let her name escape my lips questionably and then he heard snikers. It wasn't the sweet, captivating giggle that she usually made. It was the annoying, harsh sound of-
Sniggering and giggles filled the room and Dick realized that he must have dozed off while in class. Rookie mistake. He sat up straight and was face to face with Dr. Light. He knew physics was a bore but normally, he was more careful not to be caught in these types of situations.
"Glad you could finally join us," He quipped.
Dick couldn't help but roll my eyes, just thankful that Kory wasn't in this class. She was far too advanced. But with Rachel Roth only sitting a few rows back, I was sure that Kory would find out.
He did his best to pay attention to the lecture at hand, but with senior year coming closer and closer to an end, hewas finding it even harder to focus. He had been so determined the past few months to excel in grades and so adimately prepared for my future life in business. But he could only focus on the migrane he had from his abrupt awakening.
Pretending to take notes, Dick thought aimlessly on all he could be doing instead of being in class. Well, he did have a 4.0 grade point average, and wouldn't have to worry about getting into university, seeing that had already been accomplished as he had been accepted into to the top business school on this side of the country. It was all just a matter of time.
But the more he thought about it, the more he yearned for the comfort of his old friends. High school was the epitome of two-faced pettiness, and the real world was even more cruel. Without their support he felt like a puddle of mush and without even being able to talk to Kory, to see her laugh cutely at something, and Dick became less and less interested in the things around him.
As class ended, students piled out like a school of fish into the flooded hallway. He planned to meet Wally, his life-long friend and most trusted confidant. He smiled brightly at him and ge waved back.
But looking past him he could see Kory talking to someone, and by her expressions, she was flirting. It bothered him.
Calmly, Dick walked past Wally who seemed taken aback. It seemed as he was going to have even fewer friends than he had originally thought.
With a relaxed facade, Dick walked closer and could hear her sweet laughter. It was Xavier and they genuinely seemed to be having a nice talk. Which of course just pissed him off further.
"Hey Kory."
Kory stopped mid sentence and eyed him warily, "Oh Dick. What a surprise."
He stuck his hands in his pockets and turned back to see if Wally was still waiting for him. He looked confusedly in his direction before running off to flag down Jenny.
Happy that he wasn't waiting up, he turned his attention back to Kory.
"Back off, Grayson, you let her go," Xavier said.
"What, like I can't say hi to an old friend?"
"Friend?" She scoffed, "As if. You and I both know that is not true. Now what did you really want?"
Well, he didn't really know what he wanted.
He stepped back, feeling threatend. Could we really not be friends again? She seemed hurt at even the possibility. At this rate, he'd never get his friends back, let alone make nice with Kory again.
Xavier smirked and Dick's silence stunned himself. How he couldn't even comeback with anything left him internally kicking himself. The only thing he could muster up was a shrug and slinked off to see if Wally was still around.
"That was weird.."
"Don't worry about him, cutie.."
Their voices began to die out the further Dick walked away.
His heart started pounding at an inhuman rate. Why couldn't she understand that we'd be perfect together?
Dick knew that he was hurt because of her, and the way things had ended with Babs definitely added salt to injury.
The mumurs around him seemed to grow louder and louder and he knew that this was about to be his fall from grace. With fists clenched, his blue eyes frantically scanned the yard, despereate to find Wally and get out of here. Unfortunately, he ran into another red head.
"Dick? Hun, are you okay?" Babs walked forward from her group. She was wearing her glasses and hugging her books close to her chest.
"Huh," he brilliantly replied.
"I know you're hurt and all, but I promise you this is for the best. I had to do it for us, you know that right? Man, it's killing me how this is just eating you up inside..."
She continued to babble on and on. Did she really think he was this way because of her. He wasn't about to give the bitch the satisfaction.
"Don't flatter yourself, this has nothing to do with you."
She stepped back, surprised at his sudden outburst and Dick winced at his tone.
"Master Dick."
Dick froze.
He hadn't even noticed the limosuine that had pulled up curbside. Part of him was thankful that I could escape this sea of chaos, but another part of him felt a wave of embarrassment as I had to be rescued by his faithful butler.
His formality making him cringe in public, but without another incriminating word, he hopped in and blurred out the stares.
He spent the rest of the evening quiet, imagining Kory underneath him. Alfred looked worried, but didn't pry and Dick was grateful. He sat couped in his enormous room, lying facedown and replaying everything that happened today in his head.
Hearing a knock, so I tilted his head so that it wasn't buried in his pillow. "Not now, I'm busy."
The knocking continued in a staggered pattern. "Master Dick, I went ahead and invited one of your friends from school to cheer you up, and hopefully return you to your normal self."
Relived that Wally hadn't totally forgotten about him, he sat up, "Send him in."
The door opened shortly after, but it wasn't Wally like I had pressumed.
In walked Victor Stone. Vic's father had donated 100,000 dollars to the engineering course and funding to Gotham Academy's football field and equipment. Victor, being a star in both, was tall and incredibly intelligient. Most importantly, he was a good friend of mine, or at least he used to be.
He cocked an eyebrow, standing in surprise of his arrival.
He put his hands up in defense, "Listen, I'm not here to cause any trouble."
"Then what are you here for?"
"I know you were talking to Kory today-"
Dick sighed, knowing what this conversation was going to be about.
"But I feel bad for you, man. Lately, you just haven't been yourself. And then when I came by, I just planned to tell you to back off of the little lady, you've hurt her enough. But now I see that you're hurting more than she is. What is up with you, for real?"
Vic's expression grew dark, "How are you gonna call things off with Kory, and then taunt and be all moppy about it? That just doesn't make sense."
Exasperated, Dick replied, "I never wanted to call things off with Kory, it's not like that. I just- I felt that I had to. I wasn't getting his work done, I was losing control and..I just had to, alright."
"Did Bruce tell you this? That you had to?" Victor pushed, running his hand over his face. "Why's he take everythin' so serious? And why did you let him decide who you love?"
He swivelled, not entirely sure what to say.
Bruce is a master of manipulation. There was so much that Dick was expected to do, so much influence he had over him that most of the time, Dick didn't even notice it. He was secretive and demanding, and for all these years, Dick just followed suit.
But he would only be under his wing for a month more or so. School was rapidly coming to an end. It was inevitable. I was set on attending business school, and then interning at the company I would soon run someday.
But that day was a while away, and he could slap himslf silly for letting things get screwed up to this point.
Victor took his silence as a yes, "Dick, you and I go way back. You know that. But lately, you've been a spikey haired little prick and I figured I'd be the one to talk some sense into you."
"Alright, what's your game?"
"Either you leave us alone, me, Kory and miss everyone with the bullshit act."
Dick snorted, "Or?"
"Or, you man up, and take ownership of what you want your life to look like. I'm not telling you what to do or anything, but we don't want nothin' to do with this billionaire douchebag that's too good for everyone. I know we've had our differences, but I hate to see you turn out this way. Turn out just like him."
Dick shuddered at the mere idea of him turning out exactly like Bruce. From afar, he had everything. But I know him too well to know that he wasn't nearly happy.
"I can't help that," he snapped, "It's my job for God's sake. It's what I have to do, there's no getting around it. I wouldn't expect you to understand."
Vic scoffed, "And here I thought you wanted a second chance."
"I don't have to listen to this crap, why are you really here? Trying to snoop around? Get some good dirt and report it back to S.T.A.R. Labs?"
"Forget it, why bother to even waste my time. I'm out."
He flung the door open and proceeded to walk out.
Dick couldn't stop the bitter laughter that escaped his lips, slamming the door after him.
His phone buzzed for the umpteenth time tonight. Well, it was early in the morning, around two a.m. Dick was used to his phone blowing up with texts and messages, but these were different.
They were from them.
He rubbed the tiredness out of his eyes and squinted at the bright phone screen. He scrolled through, scimming quickly determining their significance. Most of them were filled with hate, claiming they wanted nothing more to do with his. Ever.
Dick settled on one that I found from her. Kory. They haven't texted since the break up. He eagerly opened the message, expecting further pain and cruel words.
meet me b4 school old meeting place. -k
Dick smiled despite the other tens of texts telling him to fuck hisself. The old meeting place, eh? Maybe she did still have feelings for him after all.
He shook his head re-evaluating the red head's words.
