Chapter 2- Macao
The guild was way taller than I imagined. The way it loomed over me was intimidating but I could feel it's jubilant aura. Suddenly I felt a bit nervous standing in front of the 2 massive doors. What if they don't like me, I'm not Lucy Heartfilia, my personality couldn't compare to hers.
"Welcome to Fairy Tail!" Happy cheered. I chewed on my lip nervously. Natsu sensing my distress he places a warm hand on my shoulder.
"Don't worry Luce I'm sure they'll love ya!" He assures. I nodding, gathering up my courage. Natsu proceeded to kick the guild hall's heavy doors open.
"We're back!" Natsu and Happy hollered in sync. A chime welcome backs followed their noisy entrance. I gingerly step into the guild, it's inviting atmosphere immediately engulfed me. Of course, Natsu had already started a brawl. I identified a lot of the people around me. Gray Fullbuster- Competent at his work but has a very serious habit of taking off his clothes, Cana Alberona- Fairy Tail's heaviest drinker, Elfman- a muscle-brained wizard who solves everything with his fists. I spied Loke sitting with a bunch of girls at the side of the guild. Loke started to advance towards me. Ehhh this didn't happen in the anime, but then again I've caused a lot of things to change, maybe this is the butterfly effect.
"Now what would your name be my love" Loke inquired swinging an arm around me.
"Lucinda Hatter, now Loke get the hell off me," I said shoving him away.
"Feisty, just the way I like 'em" he flashed a wink "Wait how did you know my name?" I let out a giggle at his dumbstruck expression. Loke's eyes then flicker to my waist.
"You're not a celestial wizard are you!" Loke screeched drawing the attention of a few mages in the vicinity. Just before he runs away I grab the back of his hood pulling is ear towards my mouth.
"It's okay Loke, I know," I whispered, his body tensed. "There's a way to fix it please just be patient with me." I let go of him and walked towards Mira. Hopefully, that makes him a little more comfortable around me.
"Hey MiraJane"
"Oh hey, are you new here?" He flashed a dazzling smile, I might go gay for her. "Wait how did yo-"
"Sorcerer Weekly" I interrupted her, man I gotta stop saying peoples names like that.
"Oh right," she laughs, "What's your name?"
"I'm Lucinda Hatt-" I get cut off as Elfman crashes into her. "Mira! Are you okay."
"Just fine love." She giggles in a daze, "How fun!" Mira proceeds to faint. I let out a snort.
As the guild continued to brawl I took sanctuary behind the request board. This is all too surreal, I still can't believe it. Somehow, I've switched worlds, crossed dimension if you will or perhaps this is the afterlife. If the afterlife is personalised I'm not surprised the location of it is Fairy Tail. Mary must be so worried, I'm such an impulsive idiot, the only regret I have is not apologising to Mary, I left her all alone. My eyes started to water again, I quickly dried them. This is a new start, no more crying. I watched the guild continue to plummet each other into smitheries, suddenly a flash caught my eye as the guild doors slam shut. What was that?
I tread carefully around the brawl pressing myself against the walls. I pushed open the guilds heavy doors, there wasn't anyone there. Maybe I was to slow? I let out a shriek as a hand presses against my shoulder. I whip around to come face to face with... myself? We stand there for a few minutes in awkward silence, hawking at each other.
"Umm... hello?" The silence was getting too much to handle.
"Uhh, hi?" My doppelgänger responds Another minute of awkward silence passes.
"Okay, I can't take this, who are you?" I demanded
"I'm Lucy, who are you?" I felt my heart drop, if Lucy exists in this world then I just took her opportunity to be with Fairy Tail.
"I-I'm Lucinda" I stuttered, "I'm so so so sorry, I don't know what's happening? You should be in there right now with Nats-" I got cut off as Lucy let out a laugh.
"No no it's okay," she assures "Honestly I have no idea what's going on either, one minute I'm in a magic shop and the next I'm standing in front of Fairy Tail"
"Let's ask the guild for help, I'm sure there's a way to fix this." We nodded simultaneously, as we entered the guild a table went flying.
"Lucy duck!" I screeched as I threw myself to the side. I grunted as I made an impact with the ground. "Lucy are you okay?" Lucy stood there with a bewildered expression.
"I-it passed through me," she muttered, "A goddamn table just passed through me!"
I felt my jaw drop. What in the world.
"Lucinda are you okay?" Natsu ran up to me heaving me up and examining me, "Watch where you throw that thing ice freak" he shouted towards the crowd.
"I'm fine but a table just passed through Lucy"
"Lucy? Is that your nickname? It has a nice ring to it"
"No my nickname isn't Lucy, that's Lucy" I pointed in her direction.
"Umm, Luce? I think you hit your head a bit too hard there's no one there" I look toward her direction. I let out a gasp, she wasn't there anymore. Maybe I imagined it? Am I going crazy?!
"The psycho is being weird again" I heard Happy snigger.
"Shut up your stupid cat?"
"That's enough, you fools!" I loud voice boomed. I yelped as I hid behind Natsu. A large being towered over everyone. A deathly silence blanketed over the guild. This is... Master Makarov! Natsu let out a chuckle stepping towards Makarov.
"What a bunch of wimps! Looks like I win this-" Natsu was silenced by Master's large foot. What an idiot. Master then looked in my direction.
"You new here?"
"Y-Yes!" Suddenly Makarov shrank down to the size of a 5-year-old, the old man sported an orange outfit and a wacky hat.
"Nice to meetcha!" He defiantly has bipolar. He jumped up to the railing of the second floor. "You guys have done it again. Just look at how much paperwork the council sent me this time and it's all complaints!" Suddenly the pile of papers burst into flames. "However... TO HELL WITH THE COUNCIL!" Master through the flaming pile into the air, Natsu launched himself up consuming the fiery mass.
"Listen. A power that surpasses reason is stillborn from a reason. Magic is not a miraculous power, it is only realised when the flow of energy inside us and the flow of energy in the natural world come into perfect sync. Magic comes from mental strength and focus- nay, it comes from your entire soul! Worry about the eyes watching from high above and you will make no progress in the essays of magic. Don't let the fools on the council scare you! Follow the path you believe in. That's what Fairy Tail wizard do!" Makarov concluded his speech pointing his finger to the sky. The guild hollered in return. Fairy tail is truly a beautiful place.
I am so stupid
How could I have expected Lucy to pack a coat? When have I seen her wear more than a crop top and a skirt? I let out a groan of frustration as the cold air burns my skin and scapes against my lungs.
"You know you can just summon Horologium right?" A voice suddenly said, why didn't I think of that. Wait who said that? I whipped my head towards the voice.
"Hello again" Lucy chimed waving her hand which also strangely sported the guild mark.
"What? How? I thought I imagined you?" The confusion level is getting way to high.
"Well I'm very much real but I think I've figured something out." Lucy proceeded to walk to Natsu. She balled her hands into a tight fist and launched it forwards. It passed right through him. My jaw dropped. "I think I'm some sort of spirt, a ghost if u
you really must, but I have some sort of tie to you." She walked over to me and clasped my hands. "See I can interact with you but I can't interact with anything else."
"LUCINDA!" I heard Natsu shout, he had gotten quite far ahead, "What are you doing? Hurry up"
"Fufu, she's talking to herself again" Happy laughed flying in circles around Natsu's head.
"Shut it you stupid cat" I muttered, "Anyway Lucy let's get out of this stupid cold"
"Agreed"
"Open, gate of the clock constellation Horologium" a wooden clock then materialises around us, we adjusted ourself as best as we could in the cramped space.
"So Lucinda what do you think happened to us?" Lucy questioned.
"I'm not too sure, but I think it's because..."I trailed off biting my lip.
"Because?" She urged
"I died"
A deathly silence fell over us. "I was in a car accident and the last thing I remember is blacking our and then waking up here, in a completely different world"
"A different world?"
"Yeah, where I come from there isn't any magic and this place we are in, in my world it's a comic and a tv show" I explained, she was surprisingly understanding. We sat there for a moment as she processed the information.
"I think we will have to-" Lucy began before she got cut off by a loud crash. We both let out a scream as the Vulcan pounced towards Natsu and Happy. We screamed once again as the overgrown money pressed his ugly face Horologium's glass. The Vulcan hoisted us above his head and made a run for it. I knew this was coming ugh I should have paid more attention.
We arrived in a cave. Macaro the Vulcan danced around us chanting women over and over again. Lucy and I huddled together "Where is Natsu?" Lucy said annoyed.
"I don't know but he better gets his ass here before Horologium runs out of time" Lucy nodded in response.
Suddenly the wooden walls around us disappeared we fell onto the ice. I jinxed it, didn't I?
The Vulcan slowly inched his way, towards us hands spread outwards, stars in his eyes.
"Where is Macao!" A voiced boomed. Natsu. He ran towards us with vicious speed, his pink hair was flying behind him and he had a look of determination on his face. However, the heroic look was ruined when we slipped on the ice tumbling across the ice and crashing into the caves icy walls.
"So uncool" Lucy and I muttered in sync.
"Where's Macao you stupid monkey" He demands standing up. We rush to his side.
"Macao is the Vulcan Natsu! We have to do something!"
"What? No way Macao could have lost to the overgrown monkey. Did you hit your head again?"
"No, I didn't pinky!" I yelled I can't with this boy.
"Either way the ape is going down, now where did you hide Macao!" Natsu demanded. The Vulcan pointed towards the entrance of the cave.
"Don't Natsu" I put an arm in front of him. "That isn't going to work on us" I smirked, "Open gate of the golden bull, Taurus!" A large man cow materialised in front of us, Natsu's Jaw dropped. Man, being a wizard is fun.
"You always have a nice body, I'm mooved" I forgot he was a perverted cow, Natsu's awe was immediately replaced with a snigger.
"Shut up Taurus, and you too Natsu!" I fumed, "Taurus get him!" The bull launched himself forwards lifting his giant axe above his head and slammed it down onto the ice causing an earthquake in the small cave. The Vulcan jumped out of the way in a nick of time. Natsu jumped in front of him with a flaming fist.
"You bastard!" He screeched as he made contact with the ape. Taurus launched his axe at the Vulcan again. Natsu and Taurus took turns beating the ape to a pulp.
"Lucy this is-" as I looked in her direction she was gone once again. How weird. I decided to shrug it off, she'll probably be back later. In no less than 10 minutes the Vulcan was passed out upside down with a proud Natsu and Taurus standing above them, unscathed. Who would have thought that the dragon and the cow would make such a good team?
"What'd I miss?" I turned my head toward the entrance of the cave where Happy stood in mid-air, "Aw did I miss the battle"
"Yeah you did Happy" Natsu responded. Happy sulked in the corner. A sudden white light blinded our vision and consumed the cave. The light dispersed to reveal a beaten up Macao.
"See I told you Natsu, it was Macao" I accused
"Yeah, whatever Lucinda" Natsu muttered lifting Macao onto the blanket he set out. Natsu and Happy helped me bandage up his wounds, he's in bad shape. His pulse is very weak.
"He must have fought hard to get him as this" Happy said sadly.
"Macao if you don't open your eyes in going to beat the crap out of you again, you can't leave Romeo alone" Natsu punched the floor.
"He'll wake up trust me" I assured the two misfits.
"How do you know that Lucinda" His voice cracked slightly.
"I just know, my super Spidey senses told me"
"Your super Spidey what?" A confused Natsu asked.
"It's a movie reference" He hummed in response. A groan interrupted out the chatter.
"Macao are you okay?" Happy cried.
"Come on open your eyes Macao!" Natsu urged. Macao cracked his eyes slightly open.
"N- Natsu?"
"Macao!"
"I'm pathetic… I defeated 19 of those things… but the 20th got me." He groaned once again in pain. "Dammit, I can't face Romeo now" He slammed his fist onto the floor.
"No Macao, defeating all those things single handily is amazing, I'm not sure I could do that. Romeo will be proud of you no matter what!" Determination was etched onto Natsu's face. I kind of forgot how good of a mage Macao was, Hiro should have included him more in the series. Natsu heaved the man up. Time to take him home to Romeo.
We made out way through Magnolia, Macao leaning on us. We finally approached the guild where Romeo sad on the steps with a sad expression.
"Romeo" Natsu got the raven-haired boy's attention. His eyes immediately lit up tears built up in the corner of his eyes.
"Dad!" The boy rushed forward knocking the injured man to the floor. I don't think I've seen a more heartwarming sight in my life.
"I'm sorry for worrying you, Romeo." The two men cried and hugged each other. Natsu and Happy began to walk away. I'd better leave them to it. I trailed behind the two, it felt great helping them.
"Natsu, Happy! Thank You!" I heard Romeo yelled. Natsu lifted his hand in response. "And thank you to Lucy!" I looked back and waved. This is where I belong in Fairy Tail. A sharp stab shot through my head. I let out a scream as my knees buckled sending me to the floor. I felt Natsu's shaking me and screaming my name. Tears pooled in my eyes as the pain seared down my body. I plunged into darkness

The arcs that aren't included in this fic are Tower of Heaven Arc, Battle of Fairy Tail Arc, Oracion Seis Arc, Daphne Arc (the fic will include the episode 'Rainbow Sakura' as a filler chapter) and the Sun Village Arc. I'm sorry if I've said one of your favourite arcs, I had to take them out unfortunately because it hinders the development of the story. Of course, I'll make sure to mention some of the events that happen in the arcs.
