Chapter 3
Licking the blood off her fingers, Miranda smiled from ear to ear as she moved closer to Rodrick's body ignoring the dead person that was now beneath her bed.
"I must admit, that was a nice surprise."
"I'm glad that you appreciate it."
"Any other reason you're here, besides blood and sex that is?"
"Isn't that our thing? Why do we need more than this?"
"Maybe because I'm bored of just being like this."
"Then get out of it. We don't need each other to live you know. It's not like your sired to me."
"You're right. I'm not. So, do me a favor and get out of my room. Take the dead body with you when you go, the last thing I need is my parents finding it in the morning."
"Why do you care what they think? From what I know about them they've both been vampires, so why hide it from them?"
"It's more complicated then that. Now get the fuck out of here."
"Have a nice night Salvatore. You know how to reach me when you stop acting like a bitch." He said taking the body and vamping out of her room making her fall back to her bed in frustration.
He just didn't understand. None of them did. If she told her parents about what had happened to her then they would want to give her the cure and she wasn't willing to risk, her dad's life for that. Not by a long shot.
"Hello, earth to Miranda." Tesla said the next morning as Miranda dropped her pencil forgoing the assignment she had been working on and she thought the library was for students who needed privacy to get their homework done.
"What is it Tess?"
"Where did you disappear to after the party last night? Somebody told me you ran off with a hot boy, but no one recognized him."
"That's because he doesn't go to our school."
"A college student. How scandalous."
"Sure. Let's go with that." She answered not wanting to go into details.
"So how did you two meet?"
"That's a long story that I don't feel like discussing right now, but it doesn't matter anyway."
"Why?"
"Because I feel like it's time for me to start seeing someone new."
"If that's what you want, but next time you start dating someone, can you please tell me about it beforehand. I am your best friend after all."
"I'll try to remember that next time." She smiled.
"Shit. I got to go meet Zander. Will you be alright here by yourself?"
"Of course. I'll catch up with you later." Miranda replied
"Thanks girl. You're the best."
Nodding Tesla walked out of the library as Miranda concentrated on her homework thankful to have some normalcy in her life for once.
