It was official, Makino hated the forest. The bugs, the crunching sounds of twigs, leaves and other plants, the feeling of being watched, the animals hiding from sight, all of it! Looking up between trees, the barmaid constantly shouted Luffy's name, hoping that he would respond and they'd be able to get out of this place.
As the day continued on and grew darker, Makino was beginning to question Chicken's info when a rubber ball plopped a few feet in front of her followed by a quiet, "Shoot! Now I gotta go get it..."
A mere moment after that comment was made, came the one who said it as well. The raven haired boy picked up the ball and made eye contact with the woman.
"Luffy! Where've you been this whole time? Everyone's been so worried! Come on, let's go back to the bar…"
"Makino! I-" the boy cut himself off, quickly remembering what he'd decided. "I'm not going back."
The smile on the woman's face slowly wore off as she stared at the still boy. Makino knew that Luffy must be upset by Shank's departure, -she was too- but not so much that he wouldn't want to come back to the bar either.
"... Alright, well why don't we go into town, Gyoru and Lady Chicken are worried about you. We all were…"
Luffy bit his lip as he made a pained expression. Not meeting Makino's eyes, he slowly repeated himself.
"I'm not going back. Not to the bar, not to the village, not anywhere. I'm staying here, away from everyone."
The green haired woman looked at Luffy in shock. Now that she got a closer look, there were bags under his eyes, and he looked paler. Something's not right.
Taking a step towards the boy, she was surprised when he took a step back, and then another. Makino tried taking another step, but slower than before; only for the boy to repeat his actions.
"Luffy ple-"
"Stay back! Please… just leave me alone."
"Luf-"
"Please."
Hearing the raven haired boy's plea, Makino decided to back down, for now. He was safe and alive, that's what mattered. He just needs some more space. With that, she turned and went back the way she came; unaware of the silent tears that fell from Luffy's eyes.

Luffy knew in his head that staying locked up in his hut wasn't solving anything, but the weight on his chest constantly reminded him of why he was there in the first place.
He was a demon that needed to stay away from people, especially good people like Makino. People always left him, and he was constantly getting hurt, it only made sense that a monster like him would soon be punished by the gods for just existing. Even though he thought this, it was still becoming increasingly difficult to stay away from Makino when she was continuously coming by and leaving behind baskets of food for him. There was also the fact that he promised to repay her for all the free food she's given him and still had yet to return the favors...
There was no way he could accept this type of generosity anymore. It was wasted on him. She should be giving these baskets to someone who truly needed it.
With a final nod, after a week, Luffy had finally decided to go to the bar. Just to return the basket, that was it. Then he'd be done and would be able to somehow live on his own hunting and… stuff.

Meanwhile on Mount Olympus, in a throne room with currently only three members in it, a secret conversation was taking place.
"So? Is he dead or what?" Asked a woman with flowing black hair and a golden wreath made of leaves surrounding her head.
The god rubbed the back of his neck, while he searched for a way to stall his answer. "Why Hecuba whatever could you mean?"
"Alectrona's mistake, did you kill it or not?" The woman responded with a harsher tone.
"Hmmm… Not ringing a bell, describe this 'mistake' for me, would you?"
"You know Asclepius, I can foresee a beatdown in your future if you continue this game your playing…"
"No! Anything but that! I'm sorry Hecuba… No the boy is not dead."
The other god in the room only made a 'hmph' noise as he heard his fellow clansman's failure go complete his mission.
"Oh shut up Aristaeus, you wouldn't have been able to kill him," murmured Asclepius.
"I definitely wouldn't have failed like you did! He's just a kid!"
"You definitely would have."
"Nuh uh."
"Yeah huh"
"Nu-"
"Both of you shut up! You two are gods, act like it!"
The two male gods looked down in disappointment, muttering a quiet 'Sorry Hecuba'.
"I still don't see why we can't just kill him with our bare hands…" Pouted Aristaeus.
"He's part human, harming him directly would be a breach of the contract… idiot," responded the other male god.
The wreath wearing goddess closed her eyes for a moment before slowly asking, "Now Asclepius, mind explaining to me why you weren't able to kill him?"
Said god looked into Hecuba's eyes this time and without hesitation said, "One reason. He has a 'D' in his name. I don't know how this knowledge escaped us, but you know what that means…"
Hecuba grit her teeth as she uttered, "the fates want him alive… This mission just became ten times more difficult."
During this exchange, a slowly fuming Aristaeus couldn't bear the sudden shift in conversation before he finally shouted! "So what if he has what the humans would call 'the bloody devil's luck'?! We all know that that's not what the 'D' truly stands for! If it's really that hard to kill him, why can't we just make him want to kill himself?!"
The god and goddess blinked slowly as they stared at their blonde relative.
"... Hecuba… Did Aristaeus actually say something helpful?"
"I don't know how, but he did… It's the end of us all!"
"Oh shut up!" Shouted the baby-faced clansman, he couldn't believe these gods! All they ever did was look down on him!
"I'll show both of you! I'll make that kid experience bloody hell. One so bad that he'll wish he was never born!" With that final declaration, the blonde god left the throne room and left in search of his target.
Hecuba sighed as she watched the younger god's retreating figure. "You know, we really should stop being so hard on him; now he's gonna do something unnecessary."
"Who knows, maybe his plan will work… in like 300 years!" Asclepius said, while laughing.
With a hard bonk to the head, Hecuba silenced the handsome god. "You know sometimes we all forget it because of his baby face, but remember that Aristaeus was the cause of 'Ripper Night'..."
"I still remember his face that night… He somehow managed to convince that poor human, Jack, that cutting apart those women's bodies was a form of art… No matter what he pulls, it always leads to blood everywhere and death. Zeus, it's like blood is his favorite kinda paint…" Asclepius said in a somber tone.
"I know we have to kill the boy, but I feel kinda sorry for him… Oh well, that's what he gets for being born. Let's go Asclepius, we can't have Heli- I mean Apollo, getting suspicious."

Damn Asclepius, stupid Hecuba! Who do they think they are! I'll show them! The confidence in the god suddenly depleted with his next words, "But how?"
From what he gathered, Alectrona's kid was somewhere in Foosha village and hangs near a bar, but who knows how many bars there were. What he needed was someone to do the work for him, while carrying out his still in the works plan.
"What is something that makes someone feel so vulnerable, so powerless, so ashamed, and so mortified that they wouldn't want to live anymore?" The blonde thought aloud, smiling as a bee landed on the tip of his finger.
The god's thinking was interrupted by a loud sigh coming from what looked like the leader of a group of bandits. With quick movements, Aristaeus hid behind a nearby tree, listening in on the conversation that was being held in front of him.
"Boss, I still don't understand why you're upset. We showed those pirates how strong we were days ago. Why are you still hung up over this?" Asked a tan man with a short stature.
With a longer sigh than before, the leader turned towards his subordinates, saying, "Yeah we messed with them, but they weren't really scared of us! Do you know why that is?"
"Uh is it because we don't have name tags?" Asked a tall and chubby man.
"You idiots! It's because they didn't know who we were!" Shouted the leader.
"But you have a bounty, see Higuma?" The shorter man said, pointing to the bounty poster that was in his pocket.
"Ugh! You guys still don't get it! I haven't done anything bad enough for pirates like them to be scared! I need to do something so bad and bloody and unforgivable, that there won't be a single person in this kingdom that doesn't know me!"
A loud chorus of 'yeahs!' Followed Higuma's words; what none of them noticed was the smile of pure ecstasy and anticipation coming from a nearby observer.
"Alright you idiots, now that you know what I need to do, spread out and come up with ideas, while I think of mine alone and in peace."
"Yes Boss!" Shouted the other bandits who quickly scrambled throughout the village.
With another sigh and a hard thump, Higuma sat himself into a desolate back alley. "What am I gonna do?"
"I know the perfect plan for you," whispered an eerie voice from out of sight.
Quickly standing and unsheathing his sword, Higuma shouted, "Who's there and what do you want from me?"
"I just wanna help make your dream come true…" said the voice.
"I ain't listening to someone who doesn't have the balls to show me their face!"
There was a brief silence before a red cloud of steam came from the ground, and revealing themselves from the steam came a glowing, blonde haired, beautiful god.
"I don't appreciate a mere human talking to me as if we were equals, but you do raise a good point and deserve to see the face of a god as beautiful as myself for what I'm gonna have you do…"
"The face of a g-god?!" Shouted Higuma, dropping his weapon. "W-what do you want me to do?"
Aristaeus's smile grew as he looked into Higuma's eyes; the god's normal blue irises morphing into a crimson red.
Amongst the different clans, Apollo's clan had certain limitations to their abilities. Due to an incident hundreds of years ago, those in the Sun clan no longer possess the ability to freely use their divine powers whenever at will.
Instead, just like other gods, their eyes change when they use their abilities. The difference with the sun clan being that every time they use their ability outside of necessity, their sun birthmark slightly grows in size and remains that new size, while an excruciating burning sensation follows for varying amounts of time.
As Aristaeus's eyes adjusted to their surroundings, the god had to bite his lip to hold back a scream. Pressing his palm into the burning mark on the side of his neck, the god decided he would ignore the pain until he completed this part of his plan.
"Please don't kill me! Please!" The man pleaded, getting on his hand and knees.
The god crouched down to Higuma's ear and whispered words of persuasion that only the two of them could hear. In a matter of moments, Higuma stood up, licking his lips with a sinister smile.
"That boy, huh? People here love him from what I've gathered, and something so artistically sinister as that? No one will forget me in this village!" Higuma finished with a laugh.
The blonde's eyes went back to their normal color and the pain on his neck lingered before slowly numbing. As the blonde was finally able to catch his breath, he bent down, picking up the man's dropped sword and placed it into the man's hand.
"Now go show me something beautiful," Aristaeus said as he pushed the man back onto the light filled streets.
The man's walk changed into a swaying, back and forth motion as he headed towards his target, killing anyone without hesitation that blocked his path.
The god couldn't stop panting in excitement for the artwork to come, and gripped at his white blouse as he followed the man many feet behind, from the rooftops.
I can already taste the blood...
